@SGETI @aerolite

Using my specs, my FOV would be 29.74* The game only allows down to 35. In helmet cam (w/o the helmet) That looks like this...

I typically have always set my FOV to max at 85. Putting the same car on nearly the same point of the track it looks like this...

The correct FOV looks more like bumper cam than an interior view except for seeing the drivers hands (which are amazingly quite scale if I reach out toward my t.v. The lower pic however seems more realistic because I can see things in the car that I expect to see in real life via my peripheral vision. I could prbably tighten it up slightly as I might not see that much headliner in the car, but I personally opt for the more "innacurate" FOV of 85.

Interestingly enough, the website's author has this to say in the disclaimer... "If your monitor is more than 3ft (~1M) away or you have only a single small monitor (<27" diagonal) or both, then FOV is not the first thing you should address to enhance your experience, immersion and enjoyment."

I wholeheartedly agree. I am currently using a 16:9 26" t.v. My eyes are almost exactly 24" away from the screen when I play.

I've been thinking of turning the helmet but in most cars I cannot see the tach, which drives me nuts. If I could affix my phone to the bottom of my t.v. screen somehow I could recreate that with Dash.

Never tried that looks interesting. Question for time and weather progression they are both at x10?

@gtr3123 will you be streaming tomorrow's race still? Link when you have it set up tomorrow please.

Also, I didn't see your thoughts on (you and me) starting from the back of the field (from 2 pages ago). Thoughts?
I meant to reply to this yesterday but it slipped my mind. Yes i did drop back to last for some battles since GTR had left.
As myself and several other's have said in the past, its no fun running away with it out front if your quicker then the others, then your just running by your self. I prefer (even if i cant catch back up to the front) to drop back and mix it up with everyone and it be a challenging race.
If GTR and myself did this during a race i think it would be very interesting instead of just him and i battling it out the whole race.

Thoughts GTR? Would make those live streams even sweeter!

Well that looks like fun.

Pretty good stuff right there. For me, his FOV is too wide considering he is using VR. I wouldn't mind not being able to see all of my mirror or gauges when I can simply "look" at them, which is far quicker and intuitive than a mapped button somewhere. The one thing I like a bout a narrower FOV is the width of the road is more accurately represented. it always seems to me that a wider FOV always looks like a driver is trying to put his car into a space that doesn't exist, even though there's reasonable room. I can't wait for VR... and a wheel, and pedals, and a gated shifter, and a clutch, and a chair that doesn't swivel....

That sounds like too much waiting, haha!

So on a happy yet sad note, I will be missing tom nights race. I just won tickets to a concert from the radio station.

I'm down with that bro lets start from the rear and work our way through :gtpflag:

here is what we will do (if your ok with it)
-We will qualify normally.
-At the start of the race, we will pull over & slow down to the side off the race line by say turn 2/3/4?
-Who ever Q'd on the pole/in front will be in front of the other at the back of the field.
-We will follow the "last place" driver, until we cross the S/F line, then at that point we will race normally.
-IF anyone spins/messes up on lap 1, we will not wait for them.

#Everyone - Any thoughts/comments/criticism? Sounds good to you guys?

Oh... how [in]convenient... :mischievous:

Better be a good band. :cheers:
Well I just called them and gave them back for someone else to win. It's not a good band for this guy. I don't know what kind of music you guys listen to but it was tickets to sick puppies. And that's just not hard enough for me. :lol: My usual culprits in my CD player are whitechapel and thy art is murder. Super heavy metal. :banghead::bowdown:
So I would rather be racing with you guys rather than being there. It was up to the wife if she wanted to go but she agreed that it wouldn't be worth the time to go and not really enjoy ourselves.

@irmopars @gtr3123

I can appreciate what you guys are thinking, but when it's all said and done, Tuesday is race night, not practice night. All competitors are expected to put forth there best effort. I just can't have the super fast guys challenging themselves at the "expense" of the rest of the field. There are various battles going on throughout the field and you guys mixing it up with them just isn't appropriate for this series. I hate to be the party pooper, but it's just not a good idea from my angle both as Director and a competitor.

Just had one of the most intense practice session I've ever had with GTR, we must have ran at least 50 minuets of racing at Donington and the whole time we where right with each other. Looks like my wheel is starting to do the trick, looking forward to tomorrow.

That's crazy fast.

You guys were practicing at 18:00 hours. I left to go practice at the correct settings.

@Lessen understand your point.

I know on Sunday snails, they run the reverse grid. We can do it in Pcars also, but it would require us to run the same combo back to back instead of separate. It would also eat up the 2nd race Q session. Theres a thread on it.
I know its nice to break up the back to back combos as we run it now tho.

Just throwing thoughts out there to bring the competition a little closer point wise since there are no adding weight ballasts, etc for the winners.
