P.S. @R1600Turbo, @RCKakashi14 , I just got the Tomica Initial D Hachiroku with a white hood? First one was with the black hood. This is relevant to the story from the manga/anime, right?

The one with the white hood was released to coincide with the Initial D movie released just last week.

You could also say that it's the earliest version since the movie is basically re-telling Takumi's start to racing.

I had no idea about the movie, but basically, it's the same car before the hood was painted?

I never liked this casting, but considering the ZAMAC treatment + it being commemoration to their first 100 models being released, I decided to get it. AmiAmi still have it available on backorder & it's easy to see why. If this was based on the 510/Bluebird, no chance in hell it'd still be $13 + shipping.

It does say on the box that they polished it, then applied clearcoat.

Was it really carbon fiber? I ask because back in the day, they often painted them black. I have wondered about the black hood on this Hachiroku in the past, but I've never been sure if it was a proper carbon fiber hood, or they had gone throwback & just painted it black.

They were trying to lighten the car, so they installed a carbon hood.

@Gotbeefboy564: Its easy to miss. I once walked halfway up to the checkout lanes and then thought that I had two of the same casting. I went back to return one casting to the pegs, only to realize that there were two different castings.

Acquisitions from tonight. First, the M2's.... I swear M2 has 12 year olds working in quality control. The door are hardly ever aligned right. I had to take the orange one apart and bend the arm on the door to get it to sit closer to the car, but even in the best spot it still looks like crap. Oh, and these cars come with "Mustang 50th" on the doors, I took them off.

And I thought these were cool.

Funny story about the Mustangs, I had picked them out and was at the end of the isle going through the new P case dump bin (which was well picked through already) and some kid came up and went to grab for them. I was like "Uh uh, those are mine, there are more over there".
