I just can't believe I missed this thread whatsoever. I am an avid collector of cars, specially old ones. I open all my stuff, tough. I really like to do some burnouts on the table with my cars, haha
I am no completist at all, I just get what I like, so there may be enormous holes in my collection, but I have what I really like. also, I collect every make that has good castings, though I'm on a very limited budget, but hey, I make do.
Here is a rather small portion of my collection as it used to look like in my previous appartment:
What? why, of course I'll show you stand by stand:
In here we have some treasure hunts past and present, I really like the 59 Cadillac. The BP Fuel truck is Lesney, the Esso one, Husky, and the small, tooned R5 Turbo is from Kenner I think. Ladder firetruck is Maorette.
Stuff here is a little more intresting, the racing Porsche is a blister-pull Tomica, as well as the LeMans Renault. The Cunningham and other hot rods are HW Hall of Fame cars, the Duesenberg and Bugatti, and the Trans Am cars are 100% Hot Wheels, and some more treasure hunts for good measure.
blue tow truck is Playart, and here are my very few redlines, originals from back in the day are the Mantis, the Rolls and some other that are missing in this picture, the Red Baron and Paddy Wagon are 25th anniversary repros. The GXW Concept van has real rider tires and is also a blister pull. Here are some Jadas and HW Ultra Hots.
Over here, more Jadas (just the ones I really like) and HW Ultrahots (The very few that made it to Mexico, only 12 were brought here officially), the already mentioned Siku 300 SL and the Traction Avant also from Siku, a bunch of muscle cars from Greenlight and Johny Lightning's Little Red Wagon:
1970 Super Bee from Hot Wheels Showcase series with a 34 Ford Park n' Plates from the 80s, the Revolver Motorsports drift car with steerable front wheels (I dont remember who does these, but they have a lot of D1GP cars with steerable front wheels and amazing detail), the Pierson Brothers 34 Ford Bonnevile coupe from Hot Wheels 100%, and some Greenlights:
The Greenlights because they are awesome, they are the first series of the Barret Jackson collection, all 6 were $20 inclusing shipping off e-bay! I have never seen a better casting of a 70 'Cuda. there is also the Gullwing, opened up.
The next stand includes both Chaparrals from the 90s, missing is their Redline brother which escaped me the other day, white enamel and all, three blown Camaros, a Nascar Fairmont from Hot Wheels, a Tomica Sillohuete Skyline, some F1 cars from Tomica and Polistil (italy), and some classic cars from Hot Wheels.
Highlights here include my mexican Hot Wheels. If you are not a hardcore Hot Wheels fan you may not know that there were mexican-made Hot Wheels in the 80s, which have some unique caracteristics from other hot wheels made around the world, specially in color schemes and interior colours, as well as the windows. In here we see the trash truck, the SVO mustang, the 40 Ford, the twin-front-wheel Lickety Six, the tan Cadillac Seville, the Pacer and the Dixie Challenger, all from Mexico. I have many more but they are not in that good of a condition. We also see the Old # 5 fire truck, some classics like the Bugatti and Talbot and a Majorette Mercedes truck.
Highlights of this bunch are the Yatming SM Citroen, an incredibly well done casting, also, the turbo Saab and Merdeces truck from Majorette, and some heavy vehicles from hot wheels.
Here, some Hot Wheels Classics before I got any more (never came to mexican stores), and a bunch of oldies like the way difficult Greyhound bus, the water cannon Airport Rescue, a Greased Gremlin, and the most famous hot wheels, the First Edition Drag Bus.
The other stand has a Monaco cop car from Yatming, a Supra from Hot Wheels and a Tomica sport van (blue), also from Yatming, the Trans Am was a usd.50 score, and two HW Auburns.
Treasure Hunt Ferrari 512TR and pickup truck, a Yatming 3d gen Camaro,a Can Am Shadow and a racing Ferrari from Hot Wheels in french blue color, the classic Mustang ragtop with wide walls, the HW rat rod series of 2001 sans the 49 Ford which my wife has (yeah, she collects too), and the Chrysler Atlatic concept.
The P4 and sharknose Ferrari from Hot Wheels, a Morgan from Majorette, at last with a top and in decent shape, both Batmobiles and the mid-90s Speed-Racer car, a 1957 chevy gasser from Matchbox, a trans-amesque Mustang from HW, a rare Chrysler from Majorette, and the first edition HW Miata.
The 944 Porsche is from Yatming, we also see a mid-70s BMW 7-series and a Matra Simca Baghheera from Majorette, and also a classic Packard from Tomica (red), the weird dump truck is Playart, and the pro-street Nova, Maisto.
The Turbo BMW concept is Majorette and has gullwing-opening doors, the hardcore Mini is hot wheels, as are all the other with the exception of the Penny 50s F1 car at the last row. Yes, that little guy is me at 6, the girl is my wife at like 16 and at 11.
In the stands with the glass doors there be muscle cars! most of them are somewhat new, but they are all awesome. We have a cameo 59 Cadillac, a basic-wheel 442, the FE 70 Chevelle, a Lesney Javelin in minty shape, and a couple Mopars.
the Charger Daytona, 69 Judge, and the 70 Camaro and 70 El Camino from Matcbox are awesome, and so is the JL Cragar-ladden Nova. The 1:43 71 GTX is an unknown make, but it's pretty well done, cost me usd3.
70 Judge from Matchbox, the Stingray race car, a 70 Super Bird and a clay bus that a friend brought me from Colombia.
orange 70 Road Runner and wide white split window Vette, and also two versions of the 67 Nova.
Matchbox Shebly GT350, a mid.engine V8 Corvair from Hot Wheels, and HWs modernization of a 69 Camaro ang 67 Pontiac GTO:
In the lowest level, there are random cars and some hot rods:
an array of 32 and 40 fords (bare-zamac roadster is favorite) along with the Morris gasser van, and some altereds.
in here we have the classic 32 coupe with flames, a 40 Ford street rod, and a pro-mod Willys and 40 Ford pickup, all from Hot Wheels. The 1:43 Matra F1 racer cost me usd2.
race cars, as the Rod Millen Pikes Peak cars, D-Type jag, GT1 Porsche from Matchbox and CLK from hot Wheels, twin classic Ferraris and a Cunningham and Vette C2R graces it all:
badass GT3 is matchbox, Countach is Hot Wheels, Impala lowriders are also Hot Wheels, as well as a space-age racing minivan from Hot Wheels:
uuffff, long. Sadly, the stands were part of the appartment so they were left behind. Today all of this rests in boxes until I get to my definitive house and get some display areas done in acrilyc or glass or who knows. I miss displaying them, but oh well, time will come.
I'll post more later on, I have way more of cours and my collection has grown almost exponentially in the past couple years. E-Bay is a fantastic thing.
i'll sure susbcribe to this.
