Went to the store and picked up a few more. Luckily the skyline was still there, In the previous post I meant to say R32. The Scrambler will be a long term project, most likely going to remove the roll cage, create a bigger roll cage, and get much better off-road tires for it. When I saw the Chaparral I just had to have it, definitely going on my wall. And last of all I've never seen such an awesome looking Bone Shaker so I decided to get it. Unfortunately the axle is bent at one of the wheels so it rolls funny, not too noticeable but it would be nice to fix anyway.

Have any of you seen the Hotwheels classic sets that they're selling. 30 classic design Hotwheels cars, most to all of them ones you'll never see on the shelf, all for the low price of $100 :grumpy:

What collection is that Chaparral from? I don't reconize the box for it, but ot looks cool and would fit in our collection perfectly.

I Don't know if anybodies discovered this website yet... but it's got some great info for us customisers out there on all topics ranging from Painting to Body mods.

Hot World Customs

On another note...I just ordered an Airbrush off the net with some of my leftover christmas money. Only $30 Shipped. I should hopefully have it within the next few days and I can't wait to use it. :)

Cheers, Cougar23

HEY, how'd I miss this thread for so long? I've still got a few leftovers in "played with" (IE:battered down to the diecast) condition (except a couple of the early color chage types.

Hi everyone!
Haven't updated in quite a while. Partially because I am lazy and partially because I was in Istanbul for the past 5 days. I dont have pictures of all of them, so I will try and find them In google.

Ok lets get started.
These ones are from a trip to Austria. I got both Hot Wheels and Matchbox

Hot wheels(my crappy pictures):
First one is a nice ol' classic deora II:
Hot%20Wheels

Next one is a mach I mustang:
Stangmach1.jpg

Last one from Austria is a 2008 Lancer Evolution:
Lancerevo1.jpg

I also got a 5 set of MBX cars. All oldtimers!
I don't have any pictures of them yet soo here is some from the Matchbox wiki:

First one is a Citroen DS (YAAAY):
09ClassicCitroen.jpg

I love it

Next one is a Jag E-Type (ALSO YAY):
09ClassicJaguar.jpg

Next one is a chevy chevelle cabriolet:
09ClassicChevelle.jpg

Next one:
Ford F-100
09ClassicF100.jpg

And last one from this pack is an austin mini van:
09ClassicAustin.jpg

I also got another MBX on the side:
a Morgan Aeromax (MY pic)
Morganaeromax3.jpg

So thats all I got from Austria. But it's not over just yet, as I also went to Ljubljana and got some more cars. First up is a MBX porsche 911 GT3
I was soooo happy when I got it :)

Next ones are all Majorette:
A Range Rover Stormer:
rangerover-stomer-orange-majorette.jpg

Next one is a BMW Z3 coupe:
3c27cb8e.jpg

And last one is a badly detailed and badly painted peugeot 206.
I hate it and dont wanna bother looking for a pic of it. It is really not a nicely made car.

And I also got a Hot wheels in Ljubljana:
09FE70ChvllSSWagonYlwRt.jpg

BUT WAIT!
I also got a normal chevelle SS for the new year from my sister. :)
70chevelle.grey.jpg

So yeah It was quite bussy for me and I really like the Chevelle trio. :)

EDIT:
Fixed all image links.

My favourite of the bunch would have to be the Chevelle Wagon. I've got one of them in blue with white stripes.

Hey Sniffs, Show us some of your cars if you get a chance. We all like seeing what other members have been collecting/customising over the years. :)

Grrr!!! That Lancer Evolution is :grumpy:. Where the hell on earth can I get it...

I saw a lot of the E-Type Jag but didn't even bother to buy one somehow :indiff:.

The 911 GT3.. I saw one but didn't have money that time so, goodbye GT3 :(

Lastly, the Z3 Coupe is :drool::drool::drool:.....

Nice cars there Apokalipse, I wish I can have more cars than you ..

Are you sure that's a R32? I think it looks like an R33.

Yup, says R32 right on the packaging. Here's another angle of it.

In the first picture I can see why you would think that though, it does look like an R33. I also picked up the same Deora II as Apokalipse a few days ago but forgot to post it.

Picked up a few more cars (10 Hot Wheels & 3 Matchbox) the other day because there was a sale where you could get 5 Hotwheels for $5 at Big W. I was going to post pics but I couldn't find the camera.

Ok so I finally got Imageshack to co-operate today. Here's some pics of the customs I have done since the last time I posted pics (probably a couple weeks ago).

First is a Dodge Coronet Super Bee which I painted (Metallic Black but it looks more like grey to me) and gave it the back wheels from the weird VW Beetle.

Pic Here

After that I painted the '67 Camaro I had a Dark Metallic Blue to complement the wheels.

Pic Here

The next one I done was a '40 Ford Coupe (Custom Thor Motocross Team Issued Cruiser )

Pic Here

After that I decide to pull down my cougar again and decided to paint it black with a black chassis and black back wheels. I used the gold trim front wheels to add a little 'bling' to it. I call it the 'Stealth Cougar'

Pic Here

And the latest one which I just finished yesterday is a custom drag racing Twin Mill. Well...not really a twin anymore. I got another motor out of a VW and filed to fit the right hand side motor recess on the twinmill. Then I bogged up the other side. Primed & Painted the shell and chassis black and slapped it back together. I quite like it excpet for the stupid recessed area for the exhausts.

Pic Here.

And last but not least is an overbored 454 my sister gave me which was sitting in her sandpit for about 5 years. It wasn't in the best shape but I bought it back to life, all I need now is some good wheels for it.

Before Pic here.

After Pic Here.

And that's where I'm at now. I've currently got another project underway but I'll show you guys that when it's closer to completion. Here's a Hint though. American Muscle Car, Big back wheels, Big Motor.

Cheers, Cougar23

*Bump*

Just a heads up for anybody in Aus. Big W still has the 5 cars for 5 bucks deal going on with heaps of good Hotwheels cars around the place. The only problem is all the bratty little kids scabbing the lot. I took my little sister in there ( She's 3 and won't back down to anyone ) and she was like blocking of the aisle while I got some decent ones. Sad I know but It's the only way to do it.

I came up with...

A 40's Woodie

Two '56 Ford's

'70 Plymouth AAR Cuda

Chevy Silverado

Mid Mill

1/4 Mile Coupe

Tail Dragger

Triumph TR6

VW Beetle

The Taildragger, Woodie, and one of the Ford's will be staying standard sitting up with the rest of my cars. The Mid Mill will be customised - I'm going to ditch the ugly plastic motor and put a flat bed in it's place. I will make a new Aluminum Base for it as well so it can take normal back wheels. I'f all goes well I will leave the stock paint.
The chevy will get a repaint and I will ditch the bike in the back.
The Plymouth is currently getting the same treatment as my Challenger (down this page).
The VW has already been used as a wheels and motor donor for another car.
Not sure what I'll do with the rest.

Here's the Challenger I was talking about. I used a VW motor by filing out the scoop hole that was already there in the dodge's hood. I also used the Vw's back wheels to add a dragster look to it. To get the required height I glued the xle to the bottom of the base by cutting new axle slots with a stanley blade then glueing it in. I painted it a Humbrol Metallic Green. I don't mind how it came out.

I was cleaning out one of my cupboards in the study today and came across some of my old matchbox toys from when I was young and I remembered this thread. I took a few quick snaps of the remainder of what used to be a very extensive collection.

Hmm all my hot wheels cars are scratched and dented because i was a kid and i used to smash them into eachother etc. :ouch:

But i do have a fine (albeit small) collection of scale models that i'll have to take pictures of and post sometime. All still boxed :) (Though because of the limited space in my room they have to be stacked, and some of the boxes are damaged... :()

*pictures of ferrari trucks*

oohh

*picture of the lambo*

aaah

Awesome stuff there. How old are they?
They look like they are in quite good shape. Good job keeping them safe 👍
Of course there is some chipped paint, there seem to be scratches on the windows and the bus seems to have traded some paint on the front there, but they are much better than some of mine which are probably not as near as old as that.
Also:
OMG do the wheels on the ferrari truck turn? Wooow! :dopey:

They are probably about a good 20 years old by now. Although a lot of my family is quite well off, my mother wasn't and thus I was taught to look after my toys as I might not have them replaced if damaged. A lot of my toys made it relatively unscathed through my childhood.... apart from a few GI Joes that endured some Bond/Blofeld scenarios that did not end like the movies

The front wheels do indeed turn on the big Ivco. You turn them by pressing down on the the orange beacons.

I did have a yellow Lamborghini Diablo the same as Syntax error's, but it had different wheels. Unfortunantly it now has no roof and black 'tyre' marks from rubbing it against an exercise bike's tyre when I was about 5 years old :(.

You guys might like these. Walked into Target day to check the regular hotwheels and walked out with these. First picture is to show what the packaging looks like, and then the rest of what I purchased. These sell for $1.99 each.

They also had the Cadillac LMP car as well. Another one I passed up. Can't wait for the others to hit the shelves. I really like this series. 👍

Looked on Ebay and saw it, looks awesome. I'm definately keeping an eye out for that as well as the others at my local Wal-Mart. Wasn't able to find the other cars for that series that you listed from the back of the packaging.

My original plan for this truck was to drop the hell out of it, but it required a little bit more modification then I felt like doing. So what do you do after already modifying the plastic for a ridiculous mod, modify it even more for an even more ridiculous mod.

The wheel assemblies came from a different hotwheels thing that I had from a long time ago. I just set them in the right place, modified the plastic to fit, and screwed it in. As you can see in the last picture I had to remove all the plastic where the axles were originally held, I had to remove it to drop it anyway but I'm lazy and I like how it came out.

Damn Diablo'. That thing's wild. Do you have a before picture to show?

I'm currently working on a AAR Cuda with a Much bigger motor being fitted, much bigger back wheels, as well as a custom job on the 'paint' and motor details.

Cheers, Cougar23

I want to try modding one of my Hot Wheels.. Maybe when I have the time. I need to study for my driver's permit test.

Glance through the book once and you'll be fine. If you've been paying attention at all growing up while your parents are driving you'll pass, it's all common sense.

Some really, really nice collection, guys. New ones are really cool, and some of the classics in here are real treat to see. 👍 There was even the Japanese Tomica in here. Very cool. NISM0's collection looked bigger than many hotwheel sections in stores, I think.

I don't collect, but my nephew just loves hotwheel cars. They are only a buck, so everytime I go to Target(department store) or something, now I pick up a couple. I gotta tell you, I now pick one up, here & there for myself.

From what I've seen, Matchbox set seem to be more detailed in general. They are much harder to find though. I recently picked up a couple of classics for myself. They are little before my time, but I did like them growing up, seeing them in pictures: Lotus Europa + 69 Cadillac Deville.

Pictures are really nice in this thread. I'll try to post some pictures in here, too. Mine's not really good enough to be considered a collection though.

Edit:
I need to study for my driver's permit test.
Oh my god, how old are you!? I thought you were probably in your 20's!
