What's the silver SUV on the left?
Hm. Silver SUV, silver SUV . . . I know it's a GMC, but can't remember the exact details, Robin, but let me check.
You know I never leave you hanging.
*
goes off to check boxes.
Hah! A box that says SUVs!
Let's get it out and open it - hope the SUV isn't buried deep - these trays go down six layers.
Bingo! Second layer and it's right there. Silver GMC SUV from Maisto's mainline.
So . . . a solo shot just for you:
Any excuse to show off the cars, heh heh.
It's a
2002 GMC Terra4 Concept.
Plenty in stores here, even though I got it several years ago. Andy's probably seen tons.
Nope. I'm taking the hose.
What else would a hoser do?
That ladder is not fluff. It operates.
Keep rubbing it in. You know how it operates.
BTW - I got your analogy of fiction and non-fiction only much later.
Brilliant. 👍
That's actually 1:87 scale.
Thank you. I wasn't
absolutely sure as I mentioned - it was '
around' 1:100
I think that's because 1:64 Bburagos aren't bein' distributed in America, at least not yet. Afaik, those Ferraris are the only 1:64 models they've ever done. If they do well with them maybe they will start producing more and maybe then we can see them overseas, but for now I don't think so.
Actually, Kakashi's post took me by surprise, and woke me up to the fact that the 'Big Car' guys are suddenly looking at the box-scale models.
I mean, we didn't have a lot of '
Replica' Manufacturers looking at miniature cars - those that
did sold the 1:64s for astronomical sums. I remember seeing a 1:64 Stratos for around $80.00 (IIRC it was by AUTOart) many years ago and gave up on the Replica makers looking at miniature cars at any decent price that small car collectors could afford.
But now, it seems like in the recent decades, as technology has stepped up and enabled them to make these little cars not only cheaper but with greater detail than before and with finer materials, they have stepped up their game and stuck their finger into the miniature pie, too.
I'm not hugely into liveried die-casts - though I enjoy the collections of others - but I really like the production cars and the classics, and looking through Bburagos latest catalouge shows me that they have added quite a few 1:64s in the line-up - very well hidden deep in the catalouge, just two pages of them.
I've always looked to Bburago for 1:24s, 1:32s, and I:43s - their range is phenomenal - and we have a huge selection on the shelves here in brick-and-mortar outlets, but it was Miasto, their sister company that produced the 1:64s and these were widely distributed here.
An interesting fact from that site - Kyosho is the distributor in Japan for Bburago.
As for the Ferraris - well, yes, they have the exclusive rights, and after having a look at the 24 pack of 1:43s I'm not a very happy man.
Sorely tempting. All in red, too. Check the catalouge in the Ferrari Section.
Some or all of the 1:64 Ferraris are a must - but as I mentioned earlier . . wheels?
I haven't seen one IRL yet and so far only Kakashi has posted one.
I've posted Bburago in larger sizes in the come-one, come-all Diorama Thread but have never seen a 1:64.
If they actually hit the shelves here would be good.

They show the Alpine, Veyron and Citroen - New Mustang, too. They also have the Abarth 500 Asseto Corse series
Something funny - (after I just said a few posts back that TRU has yards of Hot Wheels) on the Bburago site one of the pics they show is the Bburago display in a store and it is yards of Bburago, and squeezed in there is a little display of Hot Wheels mainlines.
Guess that was to keep the kids happy.
Obviously,
I would be checking it out. You never know.
Here it is in a
Bburago branded box and everything. Though now that you mention it, it does look kind of like one of the 'premium' Maistos, what with the solid gray molded wheels and all.
Obviously . . . a carnspiracy. Sister companies.
When are these guys going to send someone over to El Segundo anyway and learn how to do wheels right?
