They come with installable front splitters, like the JZA70 Supras.

"Installable front splitters"? Now that's a neat detail, and something I didn't expect from a 1/64 car...

Although I do have to say, there's something wrong with the rims. I can't quite explain it, I just find them to be a bit off from the rest of the tire. Other than, the Twin Leos are a nice pair of '90s coupe goodness.

The originals aren't the most elegant things in the world either. They look like plastic hubcaps at first glance even though they're not.

You do have a point there, they do not look like the rims of a luxury coupe. You'd think that Nissan knew that much about their own car... I guess Tomica can't make miracles with poor-looking, hubcap-esque rims.

The Furais are gone. The 911 GT1s are gone. My Tomica Limiteds are also gone.

Good side cash was made.

Now to update the blog :(

Yes, the first of a bunch coming up. I would also recommend getting the gold R35 now, as you know it's going to go stratospheric in the future.
I went with just the gold, initially. REALLY liked the red "Abunai Deka" GT-R, but I just wasn't sold on this concept of unmarked R35 GT-R police car. Then Lamley was going on about how it was selling like hot pancakes in Japan, and I gave in. These GT-Rs have some fine wheels(both gold, blue & also the red).

Both featured in my Supra blog post as well. Front whatever you wanna call it(hear too many names) + really cheap looking rims. I long awaited for this casting, but man, those wheels are just too cheap looking for $10+ car. :yuck:

I shipped this today.

I actually like it. At least in the pic.
Haul for today:
Not particularly a fan of the car, or Kyosho, but it's a really sweet looking casting. 👍

Bought these today.
Urus and blazer from Walmart

And my first green light muscle

New stuff!

Alfa 1600 to compliment the... uhh 1300? Or is it the other way around?
I don't know, one is left hand drive, the other is right hand drive and they look great.

Yup, I went for the weirdest wackiest colors on purpose.
I mean, sure the silver one looks great and all, but I have dozens of silver cars and not many that are putrid mustard yellow.

Speaking of silver, I also got this Kyosho.

Reminds me of the first Tomica I ever bought.
A whole different breed of Tomica compared to the Alfas though.

(Past me was too lazy to edit the pictures, so it's a little dark.
Present me is too lazy to edit old pictures, so it's still a little dark. Also big. Oops)

Between spokes. It should help!

Well, it's not much, but for now this is the best possible comparison;

Call me silly, but I do think that newer Supras do have holes between their spokes this time around. And that's certainly a plus, considering how bad the original ones look. The casting itself is flawless otherwise, but maybe now it has become 100% flawless with better rims...

I think a lot of times, Japan says to China, "Build it this way" and China says "We can't do that level of detail as mass production" and then they eventually learn they can as they go along.

Right now, this is the most egregious concession to mass production--the sunken moonroof. It's just too much trouble for the workers to line up the window assembly if it has to fit through a hole in the casting, but it looks like crap.

So, in essence, Japan has the quality feel, but China doesn't have the quality means? It's a shame that such forces Tomica to take shortcuts when those shortcuts become glaringly obvious and worsen the casting's quality, but I guess that's the price all brands who yearn for mass production must pay for their intentions.

And yes, that moonroof is off putting, but not as off putting as the rims in my honest opinion. You see the lack of gaps inbetween spokes far quicker than a sunken glass area...

That's what it looks like to me too. We definitely need a proper side on shot to know for sure. Regardless, these wheels look 100% better than the previous version.

I'm not completely sold on the casting either, but it's pretty nice. New rims do look improved. 👍

Edit: My Kenmeri Skyline Patrol Car came in, but the seller mailed from Japan in an envelope. Roof mounted police light punctured a hole on top of the box, and the box itself's pretty much smashed. Totally ruins the experience, but at least the car was unharmed:

Such a shame about the box but wowzers the car looks great. Had no idea it was an exclusive model? Good stuff. 👍

I want this to happen to me

I would've drove to the bank and bought all of the good ones. I love 2006-2012 hot wheels.

Are you planning on buying one of the new Supras? It would be interesting to see how would you compare both old and new releases, to end the whole "rim debate"... Just wondering, that's all.

Oh man, I'm with Cano on this, Ken and Mary would be proud of that keisatsu Skyline.👍
I'd say keep even with a damaged box, since the seller is apparently going to avoid the blame for the damage dealt during transportation anyways... But you are the owner (currently), so that's up to you. It's a shame, since the casting itself is nearly perfected bar the rims.

I'm still not sure which release this one was, but it seems to be very rare.
Dear mother of all that's good. That thing is luscious. Damn.
It looks even better than I expected. 👍

It would be hard to say "no" to the black one.

The thought has crossed my mind. It's just that $52 is a lot of money for one that came in a heavily damaged box.

I'm just disgusted that there are sellers who'd treat rare collectibles this way. These things are pretty rare anyway, and we lost another for good.
