Ah, really? I didn't know that. I always thought of 1:87 as the model railway scale, but then I thought about it.
Old BMW race cars really don't fit very well on most model railways.
Schuco really have an impressive range suitable to model railways and collectors. What other 1:87 manufacturers are left?

It's Schuco, Welly and Herpa. These companies have at times done racecars like WRC / DTM and collectable models but they mostly create normal cars for railway and architectural modelling.

'Oxford' is one of them, nowhere near as nice a range as 'Schuco' but still some decent models, new and old.

I think Oxford are made by the same OEM which makes Schuco. They mostly do historic models in 1:76 scale for UK 00 gauge model railroads but yeah there are some in HO.

Quick fun fact... Hot Wheels tried to do 1:87 for a short period of time, didn't really work out :indiff:

Next things I need are the Matchbox and (hopefully) Oversteer models. Can't wait for a comparison.

One of the earliest TLV castings, and as such it's relatively crude. It's always referred to simply as Datsun Bluebird police car, but I can shed a bit more light on it here. The markings on the car translate to "Kanagawa Prefectural Police". Since it was issued as part of a special set for the Yokohama Tin Toy Museum, and Yokohama is the capital of Kanagawa, it adds up.
EDIT: Also note that following Japanese tradition, the writing is read left-to-right on the left side of the car, and right-to-left on the right side of the car.

That's where I'm from, bro! Little town called Tsunashima in the City of Yokohama! :embarrassed:  Recently bought this Kenmeri police car by Tomica, because it was also Kanagawa Police.
I really like it but the cast looks a little off, a bit like it's been in a head on, makes it look a bit squashed at the front. I think Matchbox version is slightly nicer, although that detachable soft-top is superb.
Matchbox looked little off to me too, but I don't know. I hope I can find the MBX version in stores. I do agree on the removable top. Nice touch!
I'm interested in the ARTA and Raybrig NSX. They'd go well beside the '07 NSX Beads.
I've had one of their NSXes on preorder forever. I don't even remember which team, or how many months they've delayed it. They just delayed it again, actually.
Curious what those sell for.
Amiami has the preorder. It was around $30, but supposed to be really high quality.

@a6m5 May 2016 is the date?

Just predordered the two. I forget about Amiami.
Looks like I preordered it in June of last year. According to the order page, the latest release date is indeed May. It was ARTA NSX.

That's nice 1/43 money right there.

Anywho, I have more stuff to share.

My appreciation for Schuco has grown again and losing that auction the other day didn't help.
So screw that auction, there's plenty of Schuco for all.

Just like this BMW 2800

It's in very good shape. It rolls very well (which is not something I can say for any of my other Schucos), the doors open smoothly and the base is not oxidized at all (a bit of a rarity!). Just a couple of paint chips here and there.

It's miles better than my other example.

Up next is this Audi 80 in similar condition. I actually can't spot any paint chips on this one, but sadly the base is very corroded and there's some white powdery like thing on the wheels. Strange, it might have something to do with the corrosion on the base. I think I might be able to clean it off though.

Best part is it came with the very nice original box.

There's a crack across the entire box, but it's not too bad. Even has the original price sticker on it! It cost 2 DM (Deutsche Mark). Today a Mark is worth about 0,5€ (I think you can still exchange them for euros despite it being replaced by the euro in 2002), no idea how much that is adjusting for inflation. I'd have to imagine it wasn't cheap.

Alright, now let's get to the meat and potatoes of this batch.

This box!

Okay, so it was actually what was inside the box.

This cool bus!

Since it's 1:66 like all the other older Schucos it's quite a big model. Nice weight to it as well.
Some excellent detail considering the scale. Both the front and rear door open as well.

Here's the nice little 'data sheet' on the base.

It's in really nice condition. There are a few paint chips, but not really that noticeable unless you go looking for them.

Couldn't resist taking a picture of my growing vintage Schuco collection.

I don't even know what to freaking say. That bus might very well be my most envy-provoking piece in all of GTP's collector stash. Got damn.

Rear's okay-ish, but the front end's amazing.

Edit: Buy it now Kyosho McLarens at ebignorijp $10 US flat, fresh listings, grab while they're still there: http://www.ebay.ca/sch/m.html?item=111925519623&hash=item1a0f47e507:g:RKIAAOSwuYVWm62v&_ssn=ebignorijp&_sop=10
Didn't really care about MBX Mercedes or Kyosho McLarens, but man, been wanting this one. I couldn't believe that it was still there & at that price. Thanks a ton, Andy!

Edit: Also added newer Peugeot. :embarrassed:

Silly Shinji-san, you forgot about the number 4 rule of Alfa Romeos; they may look from some angles better than others, but when you buy one, you want to look all around them! And in that sense, TLV's Alfa gets a double 👍👍 from me. This is subtle beauty, and no odd rear end will take that away from the 1750...

Is it wrong for me to say that when I read the above sentence I was expecting an actual new Peugeot model? Nothing wrong about the eternal legend that is the 206, but still, I wouldn't mind seeing a 1/64 2016 308 to go along with my Norev 1/43 release...

I'll grab my coat now.

I have a Majorette 307 and a whole bunch of other Majorette rallys I'm looking to get rid of. Want it?

I appreciate the offer, I really do, but;

Majorette Peugeots are not something I am in shortage of. And I didn't even include the Norev 207, 5008 and 908 FAP HDI I have next to this trio...

I always forget about the rule #4! lol

I think they should have used resin for taillights. That would have made this one a "ten" for me.. So close!

I hope so, it's not even Spring yet. :P

I know little about cars outside the good 'ole U.S. If somebody said that Peugeot was 2016, I'd have believed it. Good thing I left it at "newer".

Got these at a dollar store.
