InterAllied Oversteer 1:64 scale - Mazda CX-3

26558079265_921f01d51b_c.jpg

Ah, refreshingly good Kodo design, just what the doctor ordered. It's hard to point out flaws in Oversteer's Mazda castings, which can certainly explain the reasoning behind Mazda's choice of picking Oversteer to make their dealership scale models... And that is just another reason for me to love modern Mazda, really.

Still think a nice coat of Soul Red would be a tiny bit better... this might be just me, or maybe not. Who knows? :sly:

Sorry. :P

Oh, I'm sure I will at some point. 👍

I bet they'll become common sights either way, either at a car show or just your regular upside-down supermarket (isn't that a marketsuper then? Hmm, that's a Shakespeare-level dilemma right there... 💡)

You are just like that upside down goat from space. :(

Yes, but he's just a space goat. I am a space Iberian wolf, therefore I am superior to him in every conceivable way.

...ok, maybe except in eyesight, I do have to wear glasses with incredibly strong lens graduation (if that's the right term). I may be a space wolf, but I'm also blind like a space bat without my glasses. :P
And hey, at least I know the Hanshin Tigers, you can't say I'm 100% dumb regarding the base and the ball. My idiocy rating on that is only 99.9% as a result... :P

I recommend them. Some of the Auto World are amazing for $5. And their mainlines still go for $3. 👍

Of course, sounds like they can offer great quality for small bucks. I do have an Auto World purchase in mind as far as non-HW American brands go, and since I checked Greenlight out of the list after getting that great Smokey & The Bandit 4-car set, AW is next on said list.

If you want to suggest any casting in particular, feel free to do so, I'm open to all suggestions. If I can find them and they are (somewhat) cheap, that is. 👍

To be honest, I don't even look at them on mainlines. :P

So you're too busy focusing on the models the kids love, in order to ensure your nephews' bright future in car collecting? Such a kind uncle, I wish I had one like that... :P

Edit: I recently bought a custom TLV from this guy. Check out his tweet:

:embarrassed:

Wow, he knows his junkyard look well, that's a nice diorama. I don't exactly like to see real-life wrecked cars, but I have to admit, that looks pretty good in scale model form. 👍

Isn't that the Tomica Nissan van? It's only just been released, geez he works fast!

"Tomica Nissan van"...? Is that the Prarie? Did you buy a custom Prairie, Shinji-san?

Well, I just went and bought some hotwheels today along with 3 Auto World cars and a Johnny Lightning. I also made a mistake, I passed up on a blue NSX because I thought I had it already. Though, I guess they'll be there whenever I make my next trip to Walmart, there's still yellow M4s there for instance.

Did someone mention baseball?

J/k No offence to any Baseball fans out there. :P
👍
Amazing as always.

I really like the Eldorado. Avoid 2015 Mustang.

Me too!

Spacegoat has the van on the way from amiami. He was surprised by how quickly the guy worked to get the custom finished, because the casting just got released... It's an April release.

Custom I bought is much older. It's also a Nissan. If you click and follow that tweet, you will see it amongst his tweets as he retweeted it. :P. I'll probably post it this weekend.

Darn, I like the 'Stang... Oh well, following your sage advice is paramount to get the good stuff, I'd best not waste those resources outright.

Oh you... :sly:
And I guess I did make a linguistic blunder. Nephews are grandfather's children, aren't they? Darn it... :dunce: :ouch:

Well yes, I'd be surprised too. But then again, most Japanese are incredibly dedicated to their hobbies, personal or not... So I'm not 100% surprised with Junkyard Tomy-san's speedy work. :P

I might just do that, thanks for the tip. And the custom is actually based on an older casting and not the more modern car Spacegoat mentioned? Well then, the plot thickens...

It's actually called a , ʇǝʞɹɐɯɹǝdnS, down here. :dopey:

I see what you did there, you sly rascal. And you managed to outdo my joke too, good job.👍

This one. Nissan caravan is it's proper name. As A6 said it's only a brand new release.

Oh, it's a bog-standard company van then, fair enough. Still, whichever car Shinji-san picked, it should provide for some interesting sightseeing... Although I don't think it can be posted here. It is a custom-made car after all, right?

GT looks really good.

@Niku Driver HC Actually I recommend checking out his twitter account anyway. His work on hot wheels and tomica's really cool. 👍 Also, try searching auto world Mustang in my blog sometime (search box on top left). Headlamp's atrocious.

Whatever do you mean? Looks fine to me. :P

That's a good point. But is there a distinction between a custom car you've done yourself vs one you've bought online?

Was just checking that out. What is up with the hood, totally ruins the front of the car.!

@R1600Turbo My Walmart had most of those AW cars, but only one I picked up was the silver Barracuda. White Grand Prix looked sharp, but white headlights on white car just didn't look that great to me, so I passed.

@Niku Driver HC I looked at the new AW Mustang at Walmart again today(blue). From over the blister, headlamps didn't actually look that bad? But in person, I think it's gonna look like this:

In Racegroove's video, they still look cheap, but not horrible...... I don't know if they actually changed the process when applying the paint/tampo for the headlights, or if they still look bad in person? It's such a shame, because the rest of the car actually looks pretty damn good. Headlamps are total buzzkill. :ouch:

I'm just here to upset everyone & break all the rules. It's my #2 hobby after hot wheels.
When you have found the AutoART Ford GT LM Stealth on sale, one has to question should he stay with HW or go for the bigger prize.

Hmm.

Hmmmmmmmmm.
:nervous:

Just so I stay on-topic, here's inside somebody's cubicle.

It oozes professionalism.

Hello, Mentlegen. So I went with my dad to the local Fry's Electronics and to my surprise, found these:
Right? One of my coworkers scored a Kool Kombi there when they were impossible to find. I was SO jealous. Who'd have thought to check Fry's!
And he's all outta rules
What is happening to you!?
Will you settle on a cheese sandwich, or will I have to take off my clothes? I'm kinda hoping it doesn't have to go that far.
What is happening to you!?

Stop that, darn it! That Australian Guinness Chrome browser is good, I get it...

Well, other than actual building rights (you didn't make a car that your bought from another person in these situations), I suppose not. It's still a custom... [/QUOTE]

GT looks really good.

I have to agree, the other two don't impress me all that much. And given how expensive AUTOart Ford GT LM cars go for (I know, @AOS-, I could get them with a discount, but I'd still have to pile shipping costs on top of that), I'm bound to find Mattel's finest first. And for a much cheaper cost...

@Niku Driver HC Actually I recommend checking out his twitter account anyway. His work on hot wheels and tomica's really cool. 👍 Also, try searching auto world Mustang in my blog sometime (search box on top left). Headlamp's atrocious.

Indeed I have, and I have spotted the old Nissan van.
Which one, you ask? Both of them; this is the one you got, isn't it (spoiler alert like a boss);

Well, it's bound to be, that Minicarpics guy sounds familiar... :P

Well, trying to compare the 'Stang in Groove's video with the 'Stang in your pics, it does seem that AW has tried to line the headlamps' paint with the body's lines a bit better, instead of painting over the boundary between the engine bay and the body itself... Not that I love painted headlights, but if there is a noticeable improvement, I do pay attention to that. Then again, I need to double check whether or not the Mustang I may find belongs to the bad breed, or the new breed...

Added side mirrors because the model looked awkward out of the box. But the wheels not meeting the arches makes me cringe.

The casting looks so good, it's downright criminal that the wheel gaps match early Bburago 1/64 cars. It's a real wasted opportunity, you don't get modern RUF castings all that often... :(

I'm just here to upset everyone & break all the rules. It's my #2 hobby after hot wheels.
:nervous:

And may you and Andy keep doing that for as long as you and your wallets can breathe... I wouldn't have know half of what I do about 1/64 scale model cars if it weren't for you two. And I'm still learning more and more, just from this Auto World talk alone! 👍

Bought more stuff from pallaszg.
I love getting these just two days after they are shipped.

Tomica Regulars first. Although these are actually from a 2003 anniversary set.

Up next is a Konami Silvia. I think it looks really good.

Kyosho Porsche 356C

And finally, CM's Lamborghini Silhouette.

Casting itself looks great, however the paint has these weird irregularities (seen in the second image). There were even more on the hood, but I managed to sand and polish those out. In the process however I chipped a tiny bit of paint right next to the left pop-up headlight. It still looks miles better like this and I might get around to fixing the paint on the side too.
The one bad part about buying from this seller is that his pictures are pretty bad.

@Niku Driver HC, the Ford GT LM I found is based in Netherlands. Perhaps that might tempt you a bit more. hu hu hu hu.

Indeed, that is quite tempting. Now if you could find me additional space in my house where I can put that car in, I'd be most thankful. Because unfortunately, my wish list does not quite mesh with available house space... And if the scale models are any larger than 1/64, things will get increasingly difficult...

And no, you can't store it at your house, I know about the Canadian-style alluring speech. :P
