How good is your tetris game? Most households can compact/reorganize their spaces to store at least extra 10% (If I may be generous) of material if they convert unused space into storage.... such as the 1 foot of space all around from the ceiling down.

My Tetris game? I'd give it a 3.5/10, personally. It certainly isn't J(apan)-tier, if anything. Plus, the organizing is usuallt left to my mother, except for cases when I interject to safeguard my own stuff (i.e. when I asked both her and father to add a little platform in one of my bedroom's walls, to place part of my 1/43 collection on top of)...

And in order to organize things in my small family house better, I do need a proper house map first, no?

Naa, my friend. Visually inspect the room where you hold your collection, and see where bulky items can be repositioned. Got lightweight things you can attach to the ceiling instead of the wall? Got other lightweight things you have on tables/floors that could go on the wall instead? Got stuff that don't stack well just sitting around? Consider stackable boxes or totes.

Tis a bit off topic, so let's not spend too much time on that. Once I clean up my space, I'll probably work on using a huge amount of unused space to my left to demonstrate this matter of maximizing space. 👍

On the subject of storage, I don't think I've ever shown how I store my cars.

That's one of my earlier boxes. Was probably around 15 years old when I made it. Clearly I was a master of cardboard and Sellotape and thought it'd be a good idea to reuse a cereal box, add compartments and store cars in it.
As silly as it sounds though, I still use it. And I've made many more boxes since then.

This is a much newer box. No more Sellotape, thicker cardboard, sturdier build. Still ghetto as heck though

My favorite are the model kit boxes. The art is nice to look at and a lot of them open from the top instead of the side. And the Tamiya one has art even on the inside. :dopey:

I'm glad I started doing this quite early though, because if I didn't I'm sure there would be a lot more paint chips present in my collection.

I am fully aware buying plastic compartment boxes would be much simpler. Shush.

Indeed I have, and I have spotted the old Nissan van.
Which one, you ask? Both of them; this is the one you got, isn't it (spoiler alert like a boss);

Well, it's bound to be, that Minicarpics guy sounds familiar... :P

That crap Isuzu in the shop is a dead giveaway.

Well, trying to compare the 'Stang in Groove's video with the 'Stang in your pics, it does seem that AW has tried to line the headlamps' paint with the body's lines a bit better, instead of painting over the boundary between the engine bay and the body itself... Not that I love painted headlights, but if there is a noticeable improvement, I do pay attention to that. Then again, I need to double check whether or not the Mustang I may find belongs to the bad breed, or the new breed...
If they had resin/plastic headlights, it would've been one sweet casting. I honestly don't understand the fascination with opening hoods. Perhaps you are right about the improved technique painting on the headlights. 👍
And may you and Andy keep doing that for as long as you and your wallets can breathe... I wouldn't have know half of what I do about 1/64 scale model cars if it weren't for you two. And I'm still learning more and more, just from this Auto World talk alone! 👍
I was just joking about breaking forum rules. :P

I only have a modest collection of less than 50 hot wheels, but I'm very picky with them.
That's the way to do it. 👍
Sorry about this phone quality on these but here is my recent pick ups.
Does the Redline Custom GTO have dog in the back?
I skipped on the Nova wagon but I thought the GTO was too good to pass (did you notice the dog popping out the back? :dopey:)
Just looked and the dog is there.
Never mind(see above reply), thank you for the answer. :dopey:

This makes me want to show off my favorite GTO(RLC/HWC):

My blog post

I have couple others from the "Garage" series. Sweet casting made sweeter by the bonus dog in the back!

It's not silly. It means your efforts to repurpose material that have lasted you until now has been worth it.

That's good. Keep it that way if you can. For the sake of your wallet and possibly drywall. :D

Finally received my Japan Historic Cars.
So happy.
Pfffft. Only two cases. jk
That is one sweet wagon! (disclaimer: I love wagons)
Same. I can't remember if you've picked up any AutoWorld stationwagons? Those are awesome for $5. :embarrassed:

I call it "direct recycling"... Little different from "reuse". :D

Really? In my area, Auto World seem plentiful. Wagons do go before other cars, but I've still seen them handful of times. Greenlight, I think they just go to other collectors. Toys R Us carry them, but they are the only store.

Well I didn't know AW made cool wagons until you mentioned it to me so yea I can say it's hard to see any nice AWs hanging from the pegs ... But yea I did know TRU carries a good selection of other 1/64s besides HWs but the only cars I find there are not desirable for me (I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that I simply suck at hunting :dunce:)

I "hunted" for few months before realizing that it's actually cheaper to pay the premium + shipping online than constantly driving around wasting time looking.

Sure, there are some skill/work stuff involved looking for coveted cars, but going by my personal experience, it has lot to do with luck, too. I now only look near where I live/work/shop & no special trips. I'm bit lucky there as I have Walmart in walking distance from my work + Toys R Us located on the way home from work.

Aw, the Isuzu isn't that bad... I like old Bellets (?)! Calling it crap is a bit harsh... :(

Well, judging by the wagon in your last quoted post below, plastic castings are certainly possible for Auto World. Why didn't they use them, that's another question... Budget cuts? Budget allocation to other car lines?

I was just joking about breaking forum rules. :P
And I missed the joke again, of course. Darn my on-and-off joke understanding system! :dunce: :ouch:

Sorry mate, I couldn't help myself.👍

S'okay, it was worth a good laugh. You could say I almost flipped from laughing... :sly:

Vaguely. :dopey:

The trademark Tomicarama picture kind of gives it away.

Well, it could be his evil brother, given that the car being showcased is not in pristine condition, but what do I know right? :dopey:

Forget the GTO and its red dog (ok, don't forget those entirely, the red dog is actually pretty darn cool and unusual for a 1/64 scale car), that's a proper muscle wagon scale model. How come I had never heard of these cars before? As a Bow-Tie man, I wholeheartedly approve of both, although the color choices could've been a bit better. I sure as heck won't complain though, the casting itself looks great. Guess my Auto World wish list has grown by one again...👍

On the topic of awesome muscle wagons, does anyone here know about the existence of a good 1/64 Buick Roadmaster model? I know bigger ones exist, but those cost an arm and a leg and I can't afford that right now...

Funny that you mentioned this because that's exactly what I decided to do as well but I don't think I did it right... So I found out about this monthly HW swap meet and went there this morning... To say the least I don't think it was a good idea because I ended up blowing a little more then I had planned by getting these :dopey:

And then as if not enough damage was done to my wallet I went full ape mode...

What have I done??? :scared:
