Anyone else become apathetic towards diecast?
After I sold off most of my JDM collection (a mistake) and the fact that the second hand market is completely out of control forcing me to collect stuff that's easy to get for $1........yeah. Kind of been that way lately. I've actually concentrated more on collecting Star Wars Funko POP figures. Sure they are more expensive (around $10 each) but their releases are spread out through the year so it's manageable.

I'm into Pops too. Have around 60.

I'm probably around 85-90 Star Wars figures (only collecting new stuff from TFA onwards), then I have a couple for Karate Kid and a few from Ferris Bueller. Can't wait for the Stranger Things figures that should hit around March/April.

For 1/64, yes mostly. Kyosho production has gone down that interest is dropping as well. Hot Wheels and Matchbox are still at work, but because I'm trying my utter best to avoid online purchases of these things now, I can only hope things will pop up in local stores. But even then, I'm not dying to have anything, so I usually opt not to go out of my way to make a trip at the risk of coming home empty-handed. My best luck is if I visit every 3-6 weeks, since that is usually when a new case has arrived.

Yeah, but now how does it compare to a CM's? The TLV vs CM's is a trending topic here now. :sly:

Luckily I do have castings from those respective brands.

The Tomica Premium models are made for the mainstream market, though...

The End.
Anyone else become apathetic towards diecast?
Not really, but towards certain brands.

I used to be red hot GreenLight fan. Their quality's been going down hill, price slightly up, and availability from "almost okay" to "hit & mostly miss". I'm quite a bit turned off on GreenLight.

TLVs - Quality's still great. Price has gone from "too high for 1/64, but worth it" to on select models, "WTF, this is little high even for 1/43". Also, their new releases don't really do it for me the way their older stuff do. I still get hot for their older releases on eBay, new stuff, preorder.... meh-ish sometimes.

I still seem to maintain interest in other brands about the same.

I actually meant to do a blog post on collector's take on these different brands? I forgot all about it(don't get old). Thanks for reminding me, I can start brainstorming again. :D:tup:

Jebus, that's a impressive collection. I've seen them at Toys R Us, but never paid attention to them. How much are they new?(not the secondary market price, but MSRP)
I bought the Tomica Premium Lancia Stratos HF Rally. It actually looks good.
I was impressed enough by online pictures of it. Mine's still sealed in package, but @Spacegoat keeps bugging me about it, so I'll open it soon.

You are smart ass. And this:

I'm kidding, Andy. But you really are smart ass.

Edit: This is a good deal!

Depends on the store. Target and Walmart are usually the cheapest at around $9, and stores like GameStop, Hot Topic and FYE can go as high as $15. (usually for special releases)

I thought about making a thread for people that collect them, but I thought I was the only one. :P Now I know there are two of us, and I doubt any more than that...

I buy dolls on occasion(hold that joke, not worth it!). Maybe you can make a "doll" thread?(I mean figures).

I was a big fan of show "Lost", so I have few McFarlane figures from that show. On this page is some of the recent "figures" I've bought. Some from local stores, some from AmiAmi. I'm really careful about what I buy though. Mostly characters from manga, anime I enjoyed as a kid. I try not to buy anything, but there is one more I want to buy & that's John Rambo figure from Neca or whatever company that's producing lot of Hollywood film based figures right now. I was shocked I was able to resist the T2 Terminator figure. That thing was amazing. I already have two hobbies in guns & hot wheels/minicars. I don't need another!

No worries. It's not a HW casting. I've a Greenlight that looks like this:

You'll notice GL has painted headlights, whereas that HW has plastic parts for the lamps. The chrome roll bar stands much taller on the HW, as well as having mirrors. The bonnet is also sealed.

OMG OMG OMG OMG I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT:drool::drool::drool::drool:
No, let me rephrase that. I NEED IT I NEED IT I NEED IT:lol:
But honestly, the 962 is one of my favourite racing cars of all time. I must buy this car no matter what.

Toys R Us will probably be our only brick and mortar chance at it hah.

I went to target today partially for grocery shopping and partially to check out what hw cars they have. They're all over the store. I saw HW shelves in different parts of the store including the grocery section and office supplies section.

I didn't know that HW was bringing out the R32 GT-R and Escort WRC again. I wish that these came in singles though, because I really don't want to buy 5 packs when the pack is filled with other cars I don't care for.

Anyway, here is what I bought. My highlights of the purchasw would be the Castrol 3.0 CSL, Porsche 911 GT2, and Datsun 2000.

Sometimes buying them for for the same price as the whole pack is worth it so you don't have to deal with cars you don't want. With that said, eBay shows a few listings for the Skyline and one for the Escort.
Good lord! Okay then, I might have to go back to Target tomorrow.

EDIT: I also like some of the liveries on these HW. I'm thinking of replicating them on Forza.

The nearest Toys R Us to me is like three hours away. Maybe that explains why it's so hard to find anything good around here.
I know about 4 that are near me - Chadstone, Highpoint, Doncaster and Northland. I'd like to go to each during the holidays so I can actually find some decent HW Premium cars.
