I was wondering if there was anyone that could help or give advice about pricing?
If you are "getting rid" of cars, sell them low. If you want to maximize returns, and don't mind taking forever to do it, research eBay on sold listing searches.
Loving that Chevy, especially since its from a Pittsburgh event. One of my top favorite castings, my favorite city that I consider home and just the pure looks of it. I love it and need to find one for myself now.:drool:
Good luck on that one Johnny. It's limited to 1,300, so I couldn't really find any good deals on this one. I was able to negotiate free shipping, but I think I still spent $70~$75. I had to have it. :(
Does that mean I can't borrow it now?
You can have the bag, I just need the car!
Violent moves, yes.
I don't like stuff like guns & violence.
I had no idea that Pittsburgh was in Somalia. Then again, I was never any good at geography. :dopey:
They have lot of AKs in Pittsburgh, too.

I've got four* in total now. If that isn't a sign of insanity, I don't know what is. :dopey:

*Eventually will be five, when the other Hitch & Tow set is released....

Still don't believe it's a sign of insanity. It's just a sign of pure love for a beat-up 1980s (?) American wagon that has no particular real-life car manufacturer attachments.

Although I do think having five of them does start to sound a tad little bit crazy, but eh the car is cool so who gives a knob

Sorry, I'm not a 100% blister person, so I do believe in sacrifices... Especially when the others make them for me. :sly:

No, no. Uncle @a6m5 does all the shooting around here.

But I thought he was more of a Inspector Zenigata kind of guy? You know, a goofy old man who can't catch us most of the time and always going "one day... I'll get you for this!" whenever he fails...? :P

The plan (or rather hope) is to sell as much as I can as fast as I can. I'm not really too concerned with returns unless it's with something such as a Super TH, and even then I'm probably still going low.

Oh lord. In other words it probably won't happen anytime soon. Not surprised considering the way my luck with certain diecast and life in general is.

Wrong photo composition????
 just be happy I oriented my phone the right way. I was surprised at the low resolution though, must have been the lighting.

I suck at numerous things relating to this hobby & spotting error's one of them.
Hint - I arranged these particular models for easy comparison of spoiler size :sly:

I found that Speed Machines Corvette in a 50 cent bin at a hobby shop in almost perfect condition. Wooo! My son took it to daycare (expressly forbidden) the morning after I gave it to him and it came home spoiler-less. Booo! I dug what you see there out of the orphaned spoiler bin, I think it was from some Jada Toys hot imp0rtz tunerzzz type thing. Overhangs by 5mm on either side  kinda looks Pikes Peak-ish though 👍 maybe I'll make a massive front splitter for it to balance it out.

Checked my Walmart. No zamac 510 wagon, no M2 JDM cars. Typical.:lol:

Okay. Yeah, I would recommend undercutting everybody then & move them fast.

It's typical stuff, Johnny. I'm just stupid enough to go online & spend the money. :dopey:
But I thought he was more of a Inspector Zenigata kind of guy? You know, a goofy old man who can't catch us most of the time and always going "one day... I'll get you for this!" whenever he fails...? :P
Is he from Lupin the Third? P.S. Please don't call Jarrod goofy & old. That's my job!

Are they P case? I saw a couple zamacs the other night, no 510's. No surprise for obvious reasons. Did manage to pick up some new Matchbox's though. (white Chrysler 300, Dodge Ram firetruck, gray MX-5)

I don't know what P cases are, but these are old, old. Zamac 510 are getting out of hand online. I was looking online yesterday & I think they were all $12+ after shipping. I did score some for good price on eBay(have reason to believe it was listing error), but I looked anyway. I did see the white Chrysler 300, but I passed on that one, as I'm looking to downsize the collection.

In the mail, I got the M2-Japan Bluebird rally car?(Walmart Exclusive, from eBay) I've yet to take it out of the case, but the THING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE M2. It's more Tomica Limited Vintage than M2, dude. Even the scale seems closer to accurate 1/64(as you know, they generally look oversized). It looks DAMN good for $6(I paid $14.10, shipped).

I also got the Bugzees64 NSX, @AOS- So far, this one looks really good, too.

Of course! He's Lupin's dreaded rival, the goofy old detective who never quite manages to catch Lupin even when he's right in front of him...

P.S.: I wasn't calling Jarrod "goofy & old". That one was aimed (gun talk, since you adore guns!) at you. Guess I should've explained myself...! :P

This one hurts, but I had to do it:

hw collectors nationals datsun bluebird 510 california.PNG

I was hoping to score at $150(after shipping, $162.75), but the counteroffer was $180, free shipping.

It's not due out until October, so I guess I could have waited until then to see if I can find one cheaper, but that's what I did with this guy & still the cheapest price I could find was $160+, so I didn't want to take any chances. Man, the going rate for some of these castings are through the frigging roof!

Jarrod's old, I'm a dinosaur.

Huh? Talking about the new zamac 510 wagon, right? I think it's in the newest P case with a couple other insignificant cars. Obviously none at my store due to JDM hoarder.

The front grill is a big sticker, and they flubbed a sticker application on the Raybrig, but that's the ugliest things I've spotted so far.

I'm in no hurry for taking photos of these.

Yeah, but I was talking about how we didn't get any. They still have really old cars(and tons). Maybe they are just running behind, but my Walmart skips lot of exclusives, including zamacs.

A sticker grille!? :irked::lol: I plan on taking pics of the M2 Bluebird & this thing tonight, so I'll take a look.

Browsing eBay on a Friday night wasting money I don't have. :P Bought the Auto World Mijo exclusive GT40's while looking for anything new. Noticed that some of them are coming in plastic blisters? Here's an Ultra Red (SUPER nice but $$$) in one.

I've never heard "who gives a knob" before. I like it.
Sorry, I'm not a 100% blister person, so I do believe in sacrifices...

There's some exceptions but I'd guess that 90-95% of the my collection is still carded. Guess I'm too protective of my toys.

a6 is very clumsy.👍

Kind of them to offer free shipping, at least.

👍
Jarrod's old, I'm a dinosaur.

That seems about right. :(

How's this for shocker:

Pretty much same size. M2 is not M2.

Thought they all were. Red indeed is a beauty. Of the standard two, like @shellac10 I like the black a lot more.
a6 is very clumsy.👍
I only pretend to be clumsy sometimes. To look human.

👍
Free shipping, he said he'll ship straight from the Convention. It was enticing enough for me.👍
That seems about right. :(
You aren't old yet, Jarrod. But do remember it's all downhill from there. It's a continuous downhill, doesn't level out a whole lot.

Seeing a bunch of those Japanese series (or whatever they're called) M2's, from people I follow on Flickr. They do look really good.

Wow, from the convention to you? That's pretty cool actually. 👍
You aren't old yet, Jarrod.

My thinning hairline begs to differ. :indiff:

Edit: Okay, all done now:

Part I: Actual Car

Part II: M2 vs TLV

I'm working on the post now, but I've decided to do it in two parts. First one for the car, then the Part II for side-by-side with TLV.
My thinning hairline begs to differ. :indiff:
Thinning hair do suck. I'm glad I've had buzz cut forever. :D

So does this mean you're Gojira's long lost grandfather...? Wow, the family tree is older than I thought... :P

By the way, congrats on the Datsun purchase. Price is absolutely insane for an HW (at least it is for me), but I guess it's fiting given the rarity of the casting. And I guess it's now or never to get them...

Really? I was under the impression it'd be a popular expression in countries where the English is not as American as the English I learned to speak (thanks TV! :dopey:)... Well, time to trademark "who gives a knob" as my catchphrase then, before someone rips me off!

Well this thread taught me to protect some of the cars I buy, which was something I didn't exactly do when I was a wee bit younger... So I can "blame" it for that teaching. I'm now about 45 to 50% more protective of toy cars than I was before...

a6 is very clumsy.👍

Does that mean I should start calling him "Inspector Bonsai-jiisan" from now on? :sly:

There's a family owned resale shop/thrift store near me that always has a lot of Hot Wheels and they've been gaining a lot of heat lately because they now only allow people who have kids with them in the store to buy Hot Wheels. Apparently a customer who I can only assume isn't a collector and doesn't know anything about it or that we exist raised the concern of adults buying so many of them at a time that it doesn't save any for the kids and therefore isn't fair. I'm not sure if this is illegal or not, but it's definitely questionable and isn't the most questionable thing the owners have ever done.

You have three options to raid their inventory:

1) Go make a baby, or adopt one. This option is not very practical.

2) Go borrow a kid from your siblings, friends, etc. Maybe little weird, or awkward.

3) This is the option I would recommend. Take one of your male collector friends, then walk into the store holding hands. If they refuse to serve you, you can protest by saying "but we can't make babies you bigot!". I strongly recommend you try this & tell us all about it afterwards.

When you make fun of me, you are supposed to leave me some room for comeback. That's the least you can do!

Stuff like this is hard to predict. Either way, you pay. :(

That just made my day.👍

I do see them getting enough negative reaction to retract the rule or policy or whatever it's supposed to be called in the near future though.

Satisfied my Porsche craving for today.

A guy was selling this through a Tomica FB page, and I immediately contacted him to acquire this wonderful gem.
Whoa, the rear tires looked wide. Definitely have to get this, i just wish they have different colors for it.

Well this thread taught me to protect some of the cars I buy, which was something I didn't exactly do when I was a wee bit younger...

Funny because I was super protective of my toys as a kid. Yet most of my MBX and HW's ended up trashed beyond belief.

Sure why not? a6 has dozens of nicknames, one more won't hurt.👍

They're all valid options but I'd like to vote for #3, please.👍!!
Bugzees64 ARTA NSX Conept

Jesus, has it really been over a year since you ordered it? I won't complain about the wait for the Greenlight Interceptor anymore.
