Stop pointing out imperfections I can't see!!!

That looks expensive. How much was it?
Little under $32(U.S., shipped) with today's Google exchange rates.
Funny because I was super protective of my toys as a kid. Yet most of my MBX and HW's ended up trashed beyond belief.
My younger brother. Some of my favorite toys as a kid, I never saw it in one piece again, if at all. Good reminder. I don't feel so bad about some of the stuff I did to him now.
Sure why not? a6 has dozens of nicknames, one more won't hurt.👍
As much as I'd like to blame you guys in this thread, probably other half are from idiots I know in real life.
They're all valid options but I'd like to vote for #3, please.👍!!
I'm telling you dude, I should've become a TV producer.
Jesus, has it really been over a year since you ordered it? I won't complain about the wait for the Greenlight Interceptor anymore.
I promised Christmas(2018) arrival for your GL Falcon. I let you down.

Whatever you say Shinki.

That's alright. You can give me your one. Whenever it get released, that is. :P

My friend just texted me saying he was in Walmart at the moment and just went seven rounds of Rock, Paper, Scissors with a collector in his 40s for one Matchbox Hakosuka Skyline. On top of that they recruited an employee that neither of them knew to help keep score. What my friend is doing in Walmart at 1 AM and how these events took place the way they did I truly have no idea.:lol:

Had that been a very attractive Asian collector in his 40's, in Oregon, he would have handed the MBX Hakosuka to your friend, and rubbing his eyes, because I he just went blind after looking directly at that disgusting casting.

Oh please it's not that bad. :P

It's strange, isn't it? But it makes some sense when we're children; we can say "DON'T TOUCH THIS!!!" to other people to protect our belongings, but then we'll tear them apart doing kid things... So much for toy preservation in that age.

And about 50% of them came from me, no doubt.👍

If anyone remembers the overlay I did of a MBX hako and the real deal on here would remember how badly the MBX doesn't line up.
Accuracy is one thing, but this particular Matchbox, I just find it hideous. :yuck:
Aww Shinjude. It's okay. My Autobacs too has a crooked wing. Maybe it's not a imperfection then. Maybe the real thing has a crooked wing too.
What kind of linking is this!? I thought you were going to show me a pic pointing out the slanted wing! I already know who a6m5 is!!🤬:irked: jk
Never noticed how high that front end was. Thing is higher than a lifted truck.
I guess it does seem little high? What caught me by surprise was the difference between one that was featured on Lamley vs what actually ended up on the pegs. It's not even night & day difference, it's like they are different casting altogether. I realize that's not possible, but I do recall one on Lamley looking like AutoWorld or GreenLight, and what we got looks like a copyright infringing, knockoff hot wheels, not even worth a dollar.

If I see the blue one, I'd actually buy it, but for my de nephew, or buddy of mine. It will not go into my collection! :D

It could just be the angle of the photo. I never saw the Lamley post as I rarely check the site anymore. I'm just glad it matches my expectations albeit rather low ones.

Found these at a Target after looking at 6 different stores.
IMG_0390.JPG

Only N case cars on the pegs that I wanted besides the new Gtr and a few that it didn't have. I was surprised about the old skyline and repu. They had a few F1s on the pegs too but that was it, every other store I went to had either old stuff or barely nothing good.

So I've had my eyes on this Tojiro Ukiya TLV Toyota Sports 800 for a while but haven't bought it since I prefer a stock silver version.

Sure enough, JapanBooster had a silver version available earlier today and jumped on it! Also picked up the lavender 1972 Skyline 2000GT-X.

Is this the prototype to which you're referring: what could have been...

Had some pretty good scores recently.

Started with a lot of 10 HWs from a rummage sale for the princely sum of $2.

Some were a little rough (C5 had scratchy tampos, both HW sponsored cars were dirty and well used, and the ice cream van was more of the same), but overall at $0.20/car I think I got a good deal. Hell, I could probably make my money back just in the Audi Avus' if I really wanted to since they're in great shape, but I buy more to collect than resell. Also, could someone assist in identifying the yellow monster truck? It's one of those annoying ones that doesn't have a name on the base and I'd like be able to find out more about it.

Moving on, I've also found some nice main-line cars.
20170807_121400.jpg

I've been hunting the Huayra for a while, so it was great to find at Target. Also grabbed the Corvette since it's a store exclusive and just looks really nice. Got the 510 mostly to keep it from scummy scalpers that wouldn't hesitate to put it up on eBay for $10 all because of the crazy hype around the Datsun wagon (personally I think it's over-hyped and drives prices of even basic versions way over what I believe it's worth), but it's still a solid addition to the lineup.

Finally, what I think are probably the best of what I've gotten as of late:
20170807_121430.jpg

Both are from the Track Day series, which I was a bit surprised to find on the pegs, let alone along with all the other cars from the series. With that said, I am kicking myself for not getting the 510 when I had the chance, but oh well; funnilly enough the other cars besides the 510 have just sat on the pegs, while the Datsun was gobbled up very quickly.

Yep, that's it. I didn't realize that it was the prototype.... Quite a difference from hot wheels prototype>>>production. Quite a difference.
It's awful. Especially the roofline. And that's after they improved it. The prototype was worse.
I read a book on Tamiya brand before, and I think it was the founder of Tamiya, discussing how they sometime would adjust specs like the length, width to make the model look correct to whatever scale they were doing, or perspective? I wonder how often this comes into play with hot wheels/minicar?

Not saying that's what happened with the Skyline, just something that popped in my head.

I think the most common thing that happens is:

accurate proportions = expensive to manufacture

altered proportions = we made budget!

Tarmac Works Mitsubishi Evo X Rally Advan Livery

IMG_4958.JPG

Had preordered this in February. After the very bad Civic release I said I wasn't going to get another Tarmac, but I thought I would give them another chance. This has turned out pretty OK. Infinitely better quality and QC than the Civics. No more jagged edges around the seams! At this price point and the complexity of the Advan livery I expected it to be wet decals, but was still hoping it would be tampo or silk screen.

Managed to get the TP Porsche on a back order from AmiAmi. Unfortunately I missed out on the Lancer. Hopefully it comes back into stock at some point. Looks sweet! 👍

I checked again today, but it still isn't available. Both Lancers above looks great. 👍

Also, when did AmiAmi start selling green machine GL's or whatever they're called?
GTFO.

*checks*

Okay, how many preorder's are falling through? For ten bucks, too. I'm pretty sure I've never seen a preorder on a Green Machine.👍

I forgot to comment on this. Six different stores, and five cars. I think we can all relate to this at one time or another. Classic.👍

Found a couple '17 GT-R's at Walmart last night. Left both, their grille tampos were crappy. :(
That's too bad. I've been wanting that one, too. I checked Kroger & Walmart tonight, but they are acting like it's still last Spring. :(

Off-topic, but @AOS- you need to get this, just soI can admire the pictures. I was just showing it to Jarrod too, but it's 🤬 beautiful. Go ahead, Jason. You check it out, too.
