How can TLV get away with this? It's ridiculous. This is why I rarely buy TLV's.
Because they're tightarses who've scrimpee and scrooged production costs even further.

If the Scalper's Best Friend didn't hype TLV up so much they'd most likely still be good quality.

Racing Champions quality looks nice but the wheels are a bit screwed, but i let it slide since it's loose and i don't planning on playing it.

Are you talking about Lamley ? Lol

Huge following and one of the most informed people to have insider information, which in turn generates more followers.

He also partners up with vendors. This increases his chances of getting goodies for free at the cost of promoting their shops. Smart business strategy.

What makes him influential anyway ?

I would say his large readership.

Mattel and some hobby retailers are aware of the size of his audience and provide him with previews of upcoming releases. While this rubs many the wrong way, he has an incentive to continue if it means more eyes on his site and 1/64 products.

The market hyping is only one side effect to the cause. In a more positive note, he makes for a gateway for us to gain exposure to more brands.

Heck, I could be the one exposing you guys to more brands and talking paragraphs about what's so good about it and such, but I'm just too damn lazy.

I'm not sure how much Lamely affects TLV sales. The majority of his readers skip over the posts about the funny little furrin' cars.

If not Lamley, there would be somebody else doing it. *shrug*

Could. Imagine what our lives would be like if Lamley didn't pose an impact on the 1/64 collector community.

JDM Hot Wheels would likely not be as hot as they are meow.

We wouldn't give two poops about TLVs. Shinjude may not have even made a blog!

I wouldn't have cared as much about Kyoshos.

People wouldn't be caring more about finding a Zamac 599XX than their 3-y.o child.

We may not have even been aware that Ferraris were no longer being made because of Bburago.

Most of us wouldn't even be informed about new release/re-colours for each upcoming case, we wouldn't have (or I least I wouldn't have) known which ones are this year's $upers.

Not to kiss ass, I think this thread would have been drier in content and cars if Lamley or some other toy car blogger didn't exist at his caliber. Who even brought his existence to our attention to begin with? Jason?

I haven't kept up with Hot Wheels on eBay.

Do you suspect that this red K-mart exclusive be won at an auction for $30? Or is $30 not crazy enough these days?
