Drum roll please...

Went to the Dollar Tree at the mall today for the first time...and guess what I found!

First time I did a small hoarding in one shopping run. I just HAD to get the Kenmeri Skylines! Also found the Evora from 2011 and some other 2011 Hot Wheels. A lot of 2011 models at the Dollar Tree along with several Maisto cars I never saw anywhere else. I think I'll be going there again. :)

Nothing too interesting at Toys R Us, but I did buy the Classic Rides 5-Pack. :D My first 5-pack that I've ever bought. Not counting the Ferrari 5-Pack my cousin gifted me years ago.

Pretty much I wanted all of these models! Speaking of which, I found an offroad 5-pack (can't remember the exact one) with three of the five cars on their side. An error? Or were they just too big to place on their wheels in the package.

Didnt I tell you dollar tree has lots of 2011 models and the nice ones to also check 99 cents store , also I bought a MB five pack it has the cool camper that you can tow. I will update you guys later , good night everyone

No, super-ized as in rubber tires.

You just made my collecting days that much more of a hassle... I can't just skip along the side of each peg skimming each name, now I have to check each one have rubber tires too?!

Look, if you really want to give it a new look but do not want to respray it, take it appart and then, with nail polish remover and some cotton q-tips take away the tampos ca-re-fu-lly, specially in the edges where the acetone might get to the purple finish in a more agressive way.

Then, with alcohol ONLY and moar q-tips rub away in the golden finish of the engine VERY carefully. Try this in a part of the piece that doesn't show to see if the golden finish will come off AND the chrome will stay. A friend of mine recently introduced me to this trick that I didin't know. With a gentle touch you can loose the gold and keep the chrome on most of these finished.:

Cheers for the advice, i may just try that as i quite like the original colour.

Awesome TH, Smiglo! Darn, I'd love to have that.

I've taken a score of shots at toy-stores visited recently - one with cars that also go into the hundreds of dollars. This is where Richie Rich shops. And older folk with money to burn.

But, $miglo, I really like that shop you posted. I could spend a whole afternoon, there.

Couldn't keep my own promise for a week............

Not really, just have to know which cars to look at. ;)

3 of them factory error, M3, $TH was found in that massive bin

Wow, that bin sucks.

You need to tell me every single stealth rarity that's currently on shelves. :D

I only know of the Coronet Super Bee and the Chevelle SS 396...

AOS, here are the ones known to date.

http://www.hotwheelsbr.com/2012_Fotos_THS.htm

As far as I know, the most recent one is the green Mercury that $miglo grabbed, from the AEM S2000 onwards they haven't hit the shelves.

EDIT: Noup. The 69 Camaro and AEM S2000 have hit E-Bay. That means those are the most recent ones, The Ferrari and Bug have not yet been released.

Spotting the Super Treasure hunts shouldn't be that hard. I mean for me spectraflame paint and the better wheels stick out a lot.

See, even that website used the word Superized. :P

Pretty much.

I stopped by that same Target this morning to see if they put any more cars out and they hadn't. Was thinking that Fairlane Super might still be in that box, so going to keep an eye on that store for a few days.

Just got back from The Warehouse and bought a few cars:

Falcon racecar, RX-7 (finally! Just need the Hakosuka to go with it), Camaro ZL1 and a 911 GT2.

Newbie to Regs: Orange you glad I'm here?

SVX - You need to get these soon:

100_8328.jpg

Tom-Servo - you did post the Charger before - nice to see it again. What an awesome job on the SRT10, man!

SVX - you smart man. LOL, you got that joke . . . looks like the Dodge is getting charged! haha - and I love the way the Citroën is hanging in the back there.
Here's a close-up - it's sweet to see all those oranges together. There's more - but I'm gathering them all so I can do a massive VIBGYOR - you know ;)
100_8309.jpg

I modded the Bimmer a bit - can you notice?
100_8311.jpg

Well, here's a proper picture of the 'newbie' - an 'orange' Charger. Jumps, anyone?
100_8312.jpg

Actually SVX - you could rig this one for a 'jump shot'. That would be awesome.
The huge Dept. store a few blocks from where I live is being cleared out - mass bargains - HWs going for a buck each - it's being turned into a Target. Yay? Don't know, yet. Just rumours. Maybe we'll get more THs?
Meanwhile, at that price I made huge hauls - which I shall be bringing to the table presently.

Okay, now orange you wanting to get that stinging tangerine outta yer eyes? We need Speed, RacerSVX!

BBS.:)

EDIT: Sorry, Tom-Servo - caught your post later - yes, you outdid yourself on the ACR, man, took advantage of all angles. Hurry! - it has to reappear in the Miniatures Gallery over at the Photo Forum - or lost forever to posterity, buried in this thread, never to be seen again except by insomniacs like me, who actually go back and goggle at the cars that passed that are now only in the past.
Whenever I come across one of your shots, as I dive sometimes back into the thread, I can't help buth appreciate the thoughtful artistry you apply to your shots. Do you have a Gallery? Haven't really dug deep into the Photo Threads yet.

Ooooooh! Did you add the black to simulate the mesh on the bonnet scoop?

That would indeed be awesome. Perhaps if you had brass pipes which have been connected to the car with something like bluetac?

Lucky you guys. At The Warehouse (I think the cheapest), on the current special (four for $10), it works out to be $2.50 per a car. :(

I do believe I've got some Speed Racer Hot Wheels somewhere... I think its the modern White Speed Racer and the modern yellow and black one which has a special 'elevator' tool.

Yes! Also, took it to GTAuto :) and hot them to fix the wing. Wheels were completely blacked out. I have to take the Charger over to 'HW Customisation' :sly: and get some ideas on modding the Charger. I have only one so I'm looking for another - if I mod I like to keep one stock. If I need one in the package I'll buy three. Back later with a Medigo-type story on something I have been looking for for ages  Got three of them!

SVX - aren't there playsets with launchers in them over there? The Dept. store that is breaking up has mountains of HUGE box sets piled in the aisles. Entire HW cities. I took an iPhone shot -will post soon. I'm not into that, the Playsets - but I can remember I was - just too much freaking fun. Good photo Ops, too.

Really sad to hear that. But, of course we don't ever get that special Ozzie stuff like what C'Ben shows off. There's way too much stuff to cooment on in this thread - I'm still wanting to go back and look at $miglo's, Car-less's, and Ben's collections. I must admit it is a lot less expensive a hobby here in Canada.

I just ripped open a Brasilia - so I could get a bit more jelly flung my way - and also to give you guys a close up. Loading to PB presently.. . .

3 against 1 so far. ;)
Not going to get any jelly from R1600 - but, I don't think this is one that's going to be a big hit on eBay. the pegs here were full of them. It's a great car to mod, so I picked up several. This here is the standard point-and-shoot flash lit shot.

I tried my way:

Hopefully that'll give you a fair idea of what to expect. And others a bit of a view.

This was a small haul yesterday - I was looking for the elusive silver-grey Regal - which everybody but me seemed to have. Some had them by the millions. No Regal. I walked out with these:
100_8246.jpg

Today was better - one of my kids is engaged in doing a Halo animated movie, so needing some particular models we went off to this Dept. store that was going belly up - and I was lucky. While the filmakers went off to the Halo aisle in search of the USMC Gremlin, I was playing with the elves in the HW aisle; the staff were all there with price guns and pallets strewn all around. Grabbed these - while hoping the USMC wouldn't find the Gremlin too soon.
100_8332.jpg

I don't usually buy fantasy cars . . . but when I do I say so. Haha. But it's true. I avoid the fantasy cars, but my 'side collection' is becoming quite a collection on its own.
So in addition to the Bone Shaker - which I got to add to my HW Livery Collection, I also got these:
100_8333.jpg

But my favourite picks were these - first a selection for my beloved MB Collection - can never get enough of them:
100_8334-1.jpg

And then there they were - a whole fleet of silver-grey Regals - the missing one!
100_8330.jpg

I was as happy as a Medigo!

Cheers,
Harry

Great finds, photonrider! A bit of a heads up: open up those Regals! It has a removeable hood which has a fairly detailed engine.

Oooooooh, thanks! :-) SVX! Regals shall be duly ripped open and man-handled unto uber-extinction!
I owe, I owe - so to work I go. See you guys later!
