The three small cars at the front are Tootsie Toys and they seem to be a Camaro, Trans-Am and Corvette their are also a pair of Need For Speed Vipers, a Hotwheels Preying Menace, a Hotwheel B Engineering Edonis, a unkown Tractor, open wheel race cars, a container ship and a 57 corvette thats missing allot of pieces. The cars in the next pic cost me $5

A Rod & Custom T-Bucket with real rider tyres

P4220179 by commodoreben, on Flickr
and another T-Bucket from the Offical Hotwheels Collectors event that was held in Yokohama Japan in 2002. This T-Bucket is painted in a Mooneyes livery and also has real riders

oooo that black T-Bucket is awesome. I had never seen it. Very cool, will also be on the lookout for that.

Darn - this thread moves faster than the Meme thread over at the GT5 forums.
Carlessssss!!!! Wow. I have to devote a whole hour to your post - so comments later. Suffice to say I have quite a few of the cars there - though not all, like Cano. We must all have been collecting through the same phases.

Todays haul: Had to go get new shoes for the boys - so offered them a choice of going to the store that is being liquidated (I'm thinking of scoring some discounted HWs - even some 'commons', just for modding) but they request Walmart. So off I go expecting nothing in the way of personal reward; the Walmart close to me (I'm surrounded by five of them within 15 mins. of driving) never has anything gasp-worthy.
Ah! But my good deed at driving them there - as well as forking out hard cash for three pairs of shoes - paid off. I did get some rather nice MBs. As well - the HWs were reduced to a $1.00 each. Grabbed a basket load. Boys were laughing their asses off. I kept a stern investor-type look on my face.
Here's some of what I raked in:

Even added a new 'cuda to the garage. A bit of muscle being flexed:

Have you Maisto maestros noticed the nice metallics that they have? I have to take these out and do some outdoor shots:

More later. Happy hunting, guys! 👍 And remember - if you're keeping an eye out for zombies; it's that person just ahead of you in the check-out line. ;)

Cheers
Harry.

Never trust someone over 75 to remember something 4 weeks down the road. The guy at the flea did recall that I was coming back and brought A LOT MORE STUFF, but it was all wrong. He thought I wanted race cars. Hundreds of early 80s and 90s racing champion and matchbox cars with livery on them. I've never seen more Racing Champion stuff, with those tiny black wheels they used for a few years (like 92-94ish)

Major letdown. I did buy a few things off him though like a Matchbox Commando Dagger Force car and a Strike Team car in the package for $2 which is AMAZING, but my heart was set on those majorettes!

I also found cars from two manufacturers I've never owned. Found a Norev Pick Up mini jet van that looks like a mid 90s Majorette knock off and some Welly cars in package. They were 50 cents, but I bought them more as a novelty. The decal is fading, but the Norev panel truck is lite blue and reads telecommunitions on its side.

Very cool post Car-less! I am not as jelly from this post as for your other as I'm not missing a single one lol, I have every car you've posted, altough maybe in another trim/color variation. In any which way, it's still cool to see. you have a couple redlines there that are in very VERY good shape, specially the Tri-Bay in magenta, hard to come by in that color in such a good shape.

However, there is one car that I think might be obscenely rare, that Real Riders silver Cadillac. I'm not an expert by any means of the car made and sold only in France (as I more or less am of the ones for the mexican market, because I'm here, duh), but as fas as I know, the silver Seville was indeed only offered in France but only with blackwall tires, with Real Riders it was only offered as a "Masters of the universe" Club car and is astonishingly rare... but then again I don't know, because yours doesn't have the hood tampo of said club. Do you rememebr if it had a big, blue tampo in the hood at any time?

And I never knew there was a Mercedes 540K Color Changer. Cool. I'll keep an eye out for that one.

I didn't expect the Hotwheels to be as impressive as the other marques as they are a US based company while most of the others were Europe based when I was younger, so I always had much easier access to MB, Corgi, Majorette etc.

Onto the cars you mentioned, the Tri-Baby is in very nice condition, except for a large paint chip on top of the front fender.

I don't recall the Cadillac Seville ever having any tampos, and there is no evidence that it ever had any, so I have no idea what's happening there.

I never thought to check if the Mercedes 540K was a colour changer (as it fitted so nicely in the vintage group) but I have now. Placing it in the freezer for 15 minutes had no effect, nor did holding it above the cooker hob whilst making lunch. I guess a decade in the attic with a -10C to +45C temperature range has killed the magic like it has with most of the others.

...and now for the rest of the Hotwheels, then there should just be the Matchboxes to go. Only problem is, as I concentrated my collecting on MBs they should outnumber what I've shown so far by about 3:1!

Very jealous of those grabs, man. 👍 There are least 7 cars in that batch I must have, including the Mysteries.

On another note, two weeks until I drive home for the summer and can put up pics of everything I've picked up this semester! :dopey:

Oh ok, I can see why. I've mainly been finding older models at Toys R Us. If only the closest K-Mart wasn't about an hour away... :(

My purchases today from Toys R Us. All the other stores were rather disappointing.

A second A-Team van!
Second Tyrrell P34
'70 Mustang Mach 1
Mustang II Concept
Acura NSX
Dodge Monaco

I keep finding good models at the "impulse" aisles. (The aisle right before the register) Rather annoying when you're about to purchase your stuff and find something more desirable. :ouch:

I have amazing luck I found Two a team van's in the bargain bin =D and a white ken block rally car, I am yet to see another white one!

Gah  but the Norev sounds pretty interesting, I also only own one myself, heh. Pics!

I did some digging. Turns out the Caddy was offered in France with Real Riders, but it is a disgutingly rare car. It may very well be the most valuable hot wheels in your entire stash in international circles. You'd have to check with an expert in french HWs, but it's pretty freaking rare.

As for the 540K... I've been trying to find this car, but no. I mean, NOT. It's like it doesn't exist. It might be one of those very elusive 80s color Racers or God knows, but it's extremely difficult to find, no doubt. Try to find out more about it and tell us (me at least), because I'm pretty intrigued.

...and now for the rest of the Hotwheels

Here we go again with the international variations that drive me crazy. What the HELL with the blue/silver Dumpin' A? I had NEVER seen it. Judging by the colors, it could be italian or french... hell, even from India. Pic of the base, please.

Also, go screw yourself because of that blue Show Hoss II funny car, that is one of the rarest variations of the car available worlwide short of the Mexico and France versions. That car alone is worth big money.

The redlines are also pretty damn good. The red Mongoose is in amazing condition! And that color for the Hot Heap is pretty cool. So far these have been amazing posts because of all the rare cars.

haven't visited for quite a while...

random classic car I bought since the store where this came from had nothing interesting, apart from a special HW '70 Challenger

Out of the pics I just want the holden commodore. I've seen a blue dumpin A at the antique mall...perhaps I ought buy it? The blue Hoss is quite scarce though.

color racers and colot fx drive me crazy as well; they are hard to differentiate at times from mainline, they are hard to source, they are hard to price and in the end they have nominal collectible value. Im sure a few are worth a few bucks, but mostly they are worth just a buck as novelty.

The 540 is interesting. From the pics it looks like a color car, but since I have time with PSN locking me out, I have time to research! I remember Avon using allot of the classics for limited runs. Not saying this falls into that category, but it could.

Just read on the HWC forums that they will officially be getting rid of the green stripe for all treasure hunts next year. They will all be mixed into regular series. Supers will stay the same as they are now.

Good news for me. Maybe I'll find more of them now.

My purchases from last night. Nothing too exciting...

I probably wouldn't buy the Team Hot Wheels cars, but I really wanted a Hyundai Genesis model. And the standard 2011 one was no where to be seen. The Raptor and 2002 were just doubles. I have to say, the Raptor has to be one of the best models from Maisto in their 1/64 scale models! :D

What will be the new way of distinguishing them from the other models?

No idea, they didn't say specifics. There will be a series with a green stripe, but it won't be the Treasure Hunts anymore. This works in the favor of the collectors because for years the TH's have been the "green stripe" and everyone knew that, including people that work at the stores. Without that stripe, they'll have to be in the know better than before, so I expect to see a lot of them now.

This has worked for the Supers this year too, I hear countless stories of how employees told collectors they "already got the treasures" yet the collector finds a Super still.

Oh ok, it has been a while since I was buying Hot Wheels. I was never a serious collector of course so I never knew about the Treasure Hunt series. That is rather disappointing to hear stories of how collectors knew that employees were taking them. Of course, I don't really try to collect what is more value, so I don't feel that much pressure in finding them. Mainly collecting what I personally like. I would like to start collecting the Treasure Hunts, but of course, I have yet to find one.

I have yet to ever find a Treasure Hunt so it doesn't really make a difference for me. :sly:

Neither have I. Like I said in a earlier post, the only TH in my collection is the Studebaker Avanti that I got off E-Bay , at least now I may have a chance to finally see one in the wild.

Ah, I thought it was an international car, but it turns out it's a red-blistercard Speed Machine variation. I had never seen it.

Those red card cars seem to be pretty rare. I recently picked up the blue Hare splitter off the same series and it is also quite scarce. You should pick it up, Wyvern.

Ah, it never occured to look into the Avon stuff, it could be.

Yeah, everyone in the collecting community seems to agree that it will give us all more chances to find the stuff... or so we hope. Superized cars are still absurd-scarce, it seems everyone and their mother knows about them now.

Actually that's called "greedy collectors". Not sure if you go through the finds section on HWC but I commonly see guys go through dump bins and take EVERY TH and Super they find. That kind of stuff pisses me off. :grumpy:

I'm the same way. 👍 Yes, I do take 2, 3, if I like the car, or in the case of Kenmeri, bought like four(very obscure toy car), but I believe in sharing the wealth. Some rarer cars(at the time) like Back to the Future, A-Team, Knight Rider, I never took more than I had use for. Treasure Hunt is a different story, as I very rarely run into them. Four different TH's so far, and if I see a duplicate, I'd leave them except for the 240Z. :P

Well, I do that, but mostly because I know several more guys that I know they don't have said car. I'm no scalper, i'm just part of a bigger scavenging opperation between like a dozen friends haha

I keep only one for myself. Two if I'll customize it.

There's a lot of collectors in my area too, although both times I have went to the local Target in the morning I have found a treasure hunt, so I don't think anyone frequents that store very often. I may stop there in the morning.

Well, we all now just gotta keep our eyes open for any "gem" in next year's lineup.:rolleyes:

But the collectors who are in the know for years will always have the advantage, so the Supers of 2012 should be used for practice for newbie collectors and/or specific car types collectors, like myself, since I go after real world cars. ;)

@Medigo: There's alot of cooler cars under the Treasure Hunts series, they can vary from livery, colors, heck, I seen some brand spanking new cast model never heard of, which is rare to see. Now since HW dropped the TH green stripe, casual collectors will have a harder time, unless they look at HWC or look at forums they frequent, where they can find semi to professional collectors who are in the know. If they don't, it's all collectors territory then.

But here's a tip, when ever you see a car with the TH green stripe, if you like the car(s), get it. Now with the newer "ninja" THs, they may have something on the car like a TH drawn on the car or a TH branded under the car. If that's how HWs will do it, it can be a hit or miss theme, IMO.

Personally, I have only a few noteworthy cars - the '69 Camaro(grayish-blue/black/white) Treasure Hunt from 2008, my extensive collection of Skyline GT-R's, and the full "Tuner Manufacturer" set - the ones with the AEM tampos, etc...

Also got a Lotus Esprit with a apparently damaged wing (in the original packaging, mint condition.)

I'll post pics when I get the chance. All of mine are in the packaging.

I have a massive post in the works for this evening encompassing the last 6 weeks of picking up random whatnot. Several things I've either not seem posted here or haven't seen in general outside of three ones I have. I'll do my best to group things together as I've got nearly 50 cars/trucks to list.
