AWWW the cat!

Nice grab, commodoreben. Thinking about picking up that 370Z also for it wheels.

Found an unspun/unriveted error a couple of weeks ago that I forgot to post here. It's my second of this error and it's the same casting as the first one I found.

Real quick, anything recent you guys are looking for? I am currently standing in front of a wall of some 200+ cars.

I don't collect anymore, but if you see any Super Treasure Hunts, pick them up for me. I'll pay you back later. Love you.

Yeah, I'd say that's pretty dead on. :D I think I'm pretty much done with the "collecting"

Matchbox London Bus(badass!) & Hot Wheels Saleen S7. 👍

What is this "I'm pretty much done with the collecting" thing? Are you getting married, or becoming a Taoist monk, or thinking of Hara Kiri? Whatever happens, send me the bus and the S7. Urgently needed to fill gaps in my collection. (The gaps magically appeared as as soon as I saw them.)

You said about Cano's last big post :-

God, so many nice cars in there I couldn't begin to list the one's I like. My favorite must be the Countach though. How awesome. 👍

Yes, that Countach gets the awesome. Cano, please confirm that it has a metal wing - as for the cars in there you so freakingwell meticulously presented - wow - what great picks. I'm so damn jelly about the Datsuns - 3 of them!!! Urg. And then to grind it in - the '65 Mustang with the movable hood - the same one we were discussing! Many other good cars in there, too.

I thought so. I wasn't aware, that they have opening hoods though.
Look for this one, Spacegoat - it comes in the '11 heat Fleet Series - same casting, bottomline wheels, tampos not so bad. The Vintage '65 is quite often on the pegs - but they are usually to a side with the Speed Machines, Color Shifters, HW Garage, etc.

And another shot you and SVX might like -

100_9059.jpg

SVX
Man, that is so awesome. What material is the road?

I'm glad you liked that one, too, SVX - I've seen you do a lot of 'staged' shots, too, but you do a lot of them outside - Frostyboys, too ;) . I guess that is why I like RACECAR's 'garage-look' shots - brought out the characters of the cars and made them more than just models - they were miniature working representations of the real cars. And there are effects we can get with models that we can't usually get IRL - unless we are into CGI or some SFX Stunt Director.
As for the material - I use a wide variety of substrates - that particular one I've been showing recently is primarily Foamcore, but also stiff Bristol Board as well as other support struts of corrugated and plain cardboard. The 'track' look was achieved with a very light wash of grey acrylic using a stiff-bristled flat 1" brush . . . :) haha . . . and so on . . . but, we'll chat about that with tons and tons of pics as we go along, of course - in that Miniature Photography Thread - bring your Pics!
Anything above 1:32 gets cumbersome. But it's possible to make a 'set' - any piece of Course you see in a game, for instance, and then use that as a backdrop with as small an area as a square foot in a cardboard box - that's all your camera is seeing anyway when you are that close up - which is why the smaller the car the better. Small premium cars are awesome to photograph under these conditions because they have fairly good detail for their size. Or modded cars! :)

These are 1:43's (sorry for hijacking your thread ;) )The Firebird is MotorMax, the others BBURAGO

I instructed Danica to get tough with the boys - so she put Terry into the wall.

100_8971.jpg

The 1:64's work best on that particular course - and you can throw in any combination - a bunch of Speed Machines, or a clutch of LMs. Or even a bunch of F1s or Tuners. I'll be doing a Rally Course soon for all the new Majors I got - and that won't be a flat course - so no Foamcore, but instead papier-mache. It's fun to photo-engineer your races when you are displaying cars you have - especially any rare or unusual cars, but it's also just fun to do what one does best with these cars. Play. 👍

That cat is crying out for a wheel swap. :sly:

Yeah - feline wave function clause. Must be Shrodinger's cat. ;)

Cheers,
Harry.

No changes in my life Harry. I'm just able to recognize a bottomless pit when I see one. j/k  But seriously, I've weighed the efforts, rewards, etc., etc. and it's just not for me.

I still love the cars & are keeping the ones I got though. ;)

Edit: I almost forgot to compliment your EPIC shots. All I can say is daaaaaamn. Nice work buddy! 👍

SORRY ABOUT LONG POST!

Robin., his name is Richie if we were to translated it to English. It's quite close to its original spelling and pronunciation :) he's a Thai cat. Easily annoyed and a bit lazy but if calm, he's the most adorable creature ever :D

Anyway guys, here are the best of my models, pretty much every single one in need of at least slight customization. For the album, head here: photobucket.com/albums/s437/Madertus/Model%20cars%20collection

In general, about 20-25 of them:

I have 5 more, the best of the best but I'll save them for later due to this post being longer than Equator.

The Trabant is awesome. I was bored when I was little and painted mine with a brown permanent marker to simulate rust

Wow! Nice collection Madertus! I remember quite a few of those from my childhood. (Trabant, Porsche 911 Speedster, and police Camaro) And your other models are awesome! I'd love to have just about all of those models!

What's the best... that's not even a half of my collection :sly:
In this set we can only see THE BEST of them. I have easily 30 more cars, but I don't want to get killed for long posts :D

BMW does :D

But seriosuly, it's by Bburago ;) I don't think they are on sale anymore, I can't quite recall where did I get it from ._.

I . . am . . so freaking jealous . . that I've actually stopped everything to log on and come in here. TG you held on to those over the years. As Medigo says - all great cars - but wow 1:43s !!! That's a 'sleeper' size - great cars with really nice detail. I'd love to have those Alfas, Ferraris, everything!
And the cat - I've had several of the same kind - but we called them Siamese. Not the first time animals have been in this thread - but since he seems to be a car cat he must be adopted as our mascot. Hand him over.

Did I say 'good cars'? Yeah - not the usual suspects.

Cheers,
Harry.

Let me spam this thread one final time:

I'm so hyped for it! I love bosozoku style. I'm actually going to try to make a bosozoku exhaust for my xB custom.

Sounds cool, what about about possibly adding a bit of camber to the wheels aswell?, i seen someone do it to a HW KPGC10 Skyline.. must have bent the axles in some way i presume, though i imagine it's quite tricky.

Cano, Bad Manga.. i think you knew exactly what you was doing there

Car-less, i agree about the dust thing, but it still looks cool anyway.. could do with some myself.

Madertus, Cool cars and cat BTW, love the Merc and Porsche's.

Yeah he is damn adorable. I love cats so much yet I don't actually have one!, maybe one day. I treat the neighbours cats like my own instead!

Most of those are Bburago 1/43's right? I've got a few and they did really nice interesting castings back in the day.

My collection is 25% Bburago/Hongwell (1/43) and 75% Maisto/Hongwell/Matchbox/Hotwheels (1/64). It was waaaaaaaaay bigger a few years ago, but some of them were given away to other kids. I'm kinda happy and sad at the same time about it.

My two very best 1/43 models:

Mercedes-Benz 300SL Mille Miglia-like

Dude WAT. Millie Miglia like? WTFFFFF Are you telling me you really don't know about the Carrera Panamericana? O_o

^ Ohhh, I totally forgot about that one! It's been a looong time since I took a look at my collection; I remember searching Carrera Panamericana on the Internet, but as I say - it was a long time ago... Even giants from Asgaard don't remember that.

Thanks
