Hi all! My first post here :)
After reading all the pages of this thread:drool: I couldnt resist getting some hotwheels.
I picked the Nissan GTR and a Scirocco. As both cars are related to the Nurburgring, I tried to make a little Nurburgring using rFactor textures and some polystyrene.

First post in this thread or first post in GTP? Either way, welcome! :gtpflag:

That Nurb section is AMAZING.

That looks pretty cool. Makes me itch to make something like that myself.
Oh and welcome to GTP

New custom I started work on: GT Academy 370Z. :)

Although the decals might take a while, trying to decide if I should try and do them myself or have someone else do them.

I got some maisto's today. I usually stay clear of them, but I took a look and I liked what I saw

I'd like to point you guys in the direction of this weeks 'Model Photography Competition', usually we ask people to take pictures of their 1:18th cars but this week is actually aimed at these kind of model cars. We'd love some of you guys to have a go, especially with the wide range of Hotwheels and other small car collections in this thread 👍

Here's a link to those who are interested.

[/shameless plug]

Some really impressive cars on show here, that Nurburgring section looks really cool too, not to mention the Scirrocco 👍

I used to have 2 of those Murcielagos. One in yellow, one in silver. I don't have 'em anymore because now I have 2 Hot Wheels Murcielagos in lime green and orange and 2 Hot Wheels Reventons in gray and lime green. :D I actually really like the shape of those.

The castings are very good on maisto's. It's just the wheels and the details usually let them down.

But there is something of utmost importance(not really) I forgot to show you guys.
I also bought a siku today and I decided today, that I wan't to make a store.. No reason other than I just felt like it.
And it took all afternoon :grumpy:

Big ad is big :dopey:

Some great products this store sells are:
Box
Awsum box (you can actually see this one in one of the pictures)
Hair grow kit
Roflmao
Awsm sauce

Hehe all produced by the great company of my imagination.

Does anyone know the what the value of matchbox cars are? (old ones)

I ask because I have a mint condition 1960's Ferrari 250 GT in green (1:64 scale). Maybe it's worth something.

Nice cars guys :)

And Renatow, I like the nurburgring section you did there. Did you print it or paint on it? Sorry I'm a complete noob in arts :P

I printed it, I'm not good enough in arts to paint it :guilty:

Fantastic!! Well there is this art shop nearby where I'm going to buy a miniature grass... But I'm not really sure how to make an asphalt... Also the armco is another story.

if you don't want it, I'll take it, haha. just take some pictures and we'll see if we can get to something.

As for me? today was redline day, yet again. AND mexican hot wheels day YET AGAIN. I'll post pics soon.

Try a hobby store that sells miniature train stuff. 👍

Unfortunately we don't have such hobby store here... Well the art store can always help me :) Lucky if we have them here, much easier and I could've done the whole track then :P

Not matchbox/hot wheels but 1/64 scale kyosho cars, these are immaculately detailed (bar one slight paint error on the number 2 green car) but are also rather expensive as the only way I can find to purchase them is on ebay from japanese sellers.

p.s sorry its not the greatest picture it was taken using my laptops webcam (excuse the hand in the last picture, was the only way I could get a close up)

Ooh kyosho's those are just brilliant!
Too bad the pictures aren't so great.

I'll try and get some better pictures later if I can find my digital camera, they are my first 1/64 kyosho's and I'm very happy with the quality of them. It's just a shame its so expensive to purchase even one car and have it shipped to the UK :(

Have you got any siku's? If so how do they compare detail-wise?

I don't have any siku's myself but from what I've read and the photos I've seen I'd say the Kyosho's are much better detailed when looked at up close and the finish of them is pretty much faultless.

The only real complaint I would have is that with the tires being made of rubber they are not perfectly round when on the wheel and as such the car does roll straight but even on a flat surface its as though its driving along rough carpet.

Also on another note I wouldn't advise playing rough with these (why you would I'm not sure) as they look not exactly fragile but if you were to drop one of these skylines I'm sure the splitter, wing or other would come off.

Certainly going to be getting more of these soon though they are very impressively detailed for the scale they are in.
