1/64 Model Collectors Thread

Hi, I'm a bit of a Hot Wheels/Matchbox collector too, I've probably got around 150, however I stopped purchasing or rather at least stopped looking so much when I ran out of display space. My most recent purchase is the '09 CTS-V. I have a couple other brands as well, which aren't necessarily as well made, but I got a VL Walkinshaw and VS GTS-R for example out of one lot. There were others but didn't look much like the real thing. I also only buy real cars, except for one which looked a lot like a real car and I thought looked tough. I also tend to remove them from their packets.

Yes we only collect purple cars!


The helper at the store was completing a sale over Ebay, of a pink car he bought a while back for .25 cents. The profit of the sale was a mere $6,500!!!!

So maybe one of these purple ones could fetch something like that. I doubt we ever sell them though

That'd be too many pictures, a decent few dozen are in storage unable to be out on display due to space issues. I went and counted them last night, I now have 197 and regret not getting the Evora I saw in the shops the other week after all this talk . A couple of those are double-ups though, I don't normally go for different colours, so they were just mistakes where I forgot what I already had.

Purchases for the last 2 weeks. Only have about 5 older cars I'm still wanting to get but just a matter of coming across them. Solar eagle is an error (upside down in the box).

One store I check on got a new case in hence got the Mustang concept (One of my favourites) and the Cobra. There were no xb falcons which should have been in the same box but I'm guessing people here are going a bit crazy over them for the moment. Hopefully they are a bit more common than the Ecto's though.

Yeah the Clk gtr was a must buy. I got the Porsche GT1 too since I've noticed hotwheels makes a fair few 1998 lemans cars.

Now I'm waiting for the Mclaren F1.

Awesome stuff!!! I love the Batmovile and 935!!! Heck, I gotta get me some Kyoshos... but they are freaking expensive. Oh well, nothing that some e-bay scrounging cannot solve.

They are very expensive but they are fantastic looking models for the scale, I've got a few other things on the way too which are:

Thanks, I can give the prices for the items I've already purchases and some possible estimates for the ones I haven't that are on ebay presently, you got a very good deal with those 1:43 cars, I ended up paying $35 for the 3.5 CSL minus shipping

Sure, as long as you don't mind webcam pictures, my digital camera has gone on walk about, I'll try and take some decent ones when I get the chance, hopefully tomorrow, there is a shot further up the page showing 8 of my cars with the 3.5 CSL visible if you'd like to look at that for the moment

So I did my first code 3. Decided to make this:

into a Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang.

I'm not completely finished. I still want to add some detailing such as tail lights, headlights and the front grills. Also have a set of wheels I may swap over that look more like the veyron ones and may also paint the interior black so that it looks more like the pur sang.

Looks pretty special 👍 You've definitely made me want to get hold of a Veyron model now, perhaps when I get paid in a few days time! I think an ebay spree might be in order...

I just wish there was a damn shop around here that sold the things. Only one I've found recently was a Hot Wheels Mach 5 from Speed Racer. Wasn't a particularly good model, and doesn't interest me much either.

Been waiting for this one since I first saw the pictures of it a little while back. I'm not sure if it will come out here though. Only one store seems to sell the Speed machines series and they've only released about 11 models here. Started collecting them last week. Unsure how much has come out in the EU/US so far but I think there are like 40 models all up?

^^^ I lost count. The first release was pretty good, since then it's been repaints (bad ones at that) or cars I just don't care for. That release with the F1 has a black Shelby Mustang I may pick up as well. These are scheduled to hit store shelves here in late June.

Late last year? According to what I have, the first release included:

- Green NSX
- yellow/black corvette
- red audi tt
- white porsche 911 gt1

Second or third set had the GT-R Spec-V in it.

Ok I guess they must have completely skipped those here then. Our first speed machines were cars like the gallardo, saleen s7, 911 gt3, 575 gtc etc.
