I stripped my FE Veyron they other day because I wanted to paint it a different two tone. I didn't know they are valuable until I read the Lamley blog yesterday. :yuck:

Edit: Mysterio, the licensing ran out with Bugatti, so it is unlikely that we will ever see it again. Plus it's a flippin' Veyron.

Shouldn't you sell that, earn some funds on eBay? I think I have the same one, and they go for Treasure Hunt money on eBay.

Damn, to think that back in 2003 that those Veyrons were the unwanted cars that were left on the pegs, while all the 'tooned' cars with massive superchargers or turbochargers sticking out through the bonnet/hood sold like hotcakes.

Jason, I don't think my car liked that trip very much, and I know my Wallet definitely did not, but I think I'll come down next week with a little money.

I came with $40 and left with 0. Since the lighting in my room is ****, here's what I got today.

First Editions:
VT Commodore Silver
Lotus 340R
Bad Mudder
'65 Ford Ranchero
Ford Shelby Cobra Concept
'04 Batmobile x2
Ford Escort Rally Car
Ford Thunderbolt
Pikes Peak Celica
Pikes Peak Tacoma
Nash Metropolitan "Metrorail"
'67 Dodge Charger
Hummer H3T

"Second" Editions (First Edition Recolors):
VT Commodore (Yellow)
Lotus Elise 340R (Red)
'68 Mercury Cougar (Orange)

Final Runs:
BMW 850i
Porsche Carrera

TH's:
Tyrrell P34
'10 Camaro SS Police Car
Ducati 1098
Studebaker Avanti

And 20 standard hots. I'll post pictures when I can. I also got a good group of cars from my grocery store today. I'll post pics when there's light out.

Isn't the Final Runs 850i the shiny one with M-Sport looking stripes? God, that's a nice one. 👍

I didn't know that Veyron wasn't all that popular back when. When I got mine, it was an impulse buy, so I didn't know anything about Hot Wheels anyway. When I joined this community, I ran this + few other cars I had on eBay search & discovered it I think going for $20 or something.

After checking out the search, it seem to fetch about $10, $20 to $30 in most auctions?

Oh yes. Real riders wheels and all. Nabbed it for $3 and it came in a super nice case and everything. Worth it to me.

One of the cars on my "want" list, but simply too many fish to chase in this sea.

Yeah one of the cars I bought tonight I thought I overpaid for (Celica TH), but after bouncing it around in my head for a couple minutes I gave in and bought it. I basically came home with 5 cars for $10, so even though I paid $8 for the Celica alone (:scared:) it really evens out to $2 per car, plus I'll get my money back on the Veyron now.:mischievous:

Well it's not really on my want list, so I'd consider trading it. Although I do like it quite a bit, so I'd just need to find something (or things) that I like even more.

Which Celica was it?

Bugattis have a big name, and that alone makes people want it... and when people know other people want it, they sell it for a lot. And then, when people find out it's valued that much, people want it more and more, so they too can sell it for a lot. It's a repeating cycle.

*The greatest Celica ever*

I see your dilemma. I, too, would've thought on that for a bit.

EDIT: Took pictures.

First, three opened cars that I got from the Grocery store earlier today. Boulevard Firebird and two mystery cars.

Really wanted the MR2, was happy to get the others as well, though.

These are all of today's purchases. Both the Grocery store and the meet.

Yeah, I cringe at the fact I paid $8 for it, but as I said 5 cars for a total of $10, plus making money on the sale of the Veyron = priceless. :P

Greatest Celica of all: The First Edition, with the original, and very true to it in fact, Pikes Peak winning paint job:

All others that came after it are just VERY wrong. That casting should have never been used again. The same for the Pikes Peak Tacoma. They should have been commmemorative or Millen's wins. The subsequent paint jobs on all of them are atrocious, to top it off.

So, I grabbed the 55 gasser today and a red bird, finally.

I'm putting together photos of cars I have available for trades. I realize it's a long shot for this particular instance, but I figured it would be a handy file to have on a standby. :D

That is....... nice.

I have that! I don't know how, but it's one of those loose cars that I've had for years. I have no recollection of how I came into possession of it. Probably stole it from my baby brother.

I notice that on my releases that come out to resemble a real car at first, then after that they go in weird directions. I think that might be part of Mattel's deal with the licensing, that they have to create it the way it's supposed to be for the first release, then after that they are allowed to do whatever they want with it. Which isn't always the best thing...

Everytime I see the Pikes Peak Tacoma in the livery it won in, I always picture Millen in it too. I need to score one of Toyota Baja trucks jn the Ivan Stewart livery, It's my holy grail for hot wheels just has the AutoArt 1/18th in both Toyota liveries are.

I agree that some of the Pikes Peak Celica paint jobs are not the best, but there are a few that are acceptable.

I look forward to seeing what you've got. I'm a particular fan of movie and media cars, especially Batmobiles. But I'd have to be pretty dead-set to trade for the BMW I think. Might just have to surprise me with something.

Yeah.. I've got the Sweet Tarts Celica. :yuck: Although at this point it's just about a white Pikes Peak Celica.

Definitely one of the less desirable paint jobs for sure, but nothing beats the Police paint job in terrible-ness. And that happens to be the one I have. I also have the Ford Escort Rally car in the Policia Rally paint job. You can see why I was ecstatic to purchase their proper first editions.

I didn't know they had Tacomas until I got that whatever racing one that was on sale at Target, which we all went and bought bunch of. :D

Don't get your hopes up too high. I'm still a newbie collector, and this is a small group of cars that I actually don't care to keep, so chances are, you wouldn't be impressed by them either.

If by chance you see something you like, great. Again, it's a long shot for this instance, but I wanted to put this together anyway, for possible future trades. :)

How awesome would it be to make a super accurate 'Ring diorama with the Magane Trophy, Scirocco, Z4, and others? I mean, of course you'd stick to a single corner of the track for the diorama. :P

Someone did something like that, way, way earlier in the thread. :P

So I've been taking pictures of cars I have for trades. This is how my loose mainline cars are stored.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong, but how do you guys do it? My nicer cars(Boulevard, Garage, Johnny Lightning, etc.), I keep them individually protected in a fishing tackle case. :dopey:
