Still looking for the Mystery G37. Are they in similar baggies that the other Mysteries have come in?

I have a post ready to go on Lamley with the many wheel variations of the G37 (there are four on the FE alone), just waiting for the Mystery to complete it.

Hi guys. Check me out:

Yeah, same baggies with a slightly different graphic on the front. I also noticed the clear window is gone, but if you know the trick with the codes printed on the front then it doesn't matter anyway.

Technically not a new model. It was planned for a series last year and canceled. Maybe that's why they kept it off the "new models" list.

Here's the whole list of all the cars this year:

Looks like we're getting another RX-7 too. 👍

Reading the Road Rally series and going "uh huh...okay....uh huh...." then I saw:

TEAM HOT WHEELS® Corkscrew Buggy
Time Tracker™

:grumpy:

Knew we wouldn't get all 5 to be real cars. Oh well. I guess that Greenwood vette makes up for it

It's 1957? Guy wrote 1959... Looked like a '57 to me but I wasn't sure.

It's greenlight, got it for $3.50.

CM'S CORP. 👍
Damn, i wish i still had my.............................Stratos,..........................

[EDIT]
Looks like that may be missing the antenna.. . .

Anybody who actually knows anything knows that the Stratos is actually a space shuttle being tested by aliens (and rumoured to be in use now - though that I don't really, really know).

Without an antenna you can't call Home. Important.

I collect Stratos (you can't survive with one stratus) obsessively in any video game that has them.

Here is a Stratos (you can only see the visible spectrum one ;) ) collecting samples. It's in stealth mode. (Cloud colour)

This i can confirm. In GT5, i have a fleet of Stratos. My favourite one has been christened 'The Ballerina', for the way she gracefully executes pirouette maneuvers, from the slightest of inputs when piloted.

Ahh, i see you have one of the 'Top Speed Class Stratos'... Very rare beast indeed. I'm very impressed, Captain. 👍

Oooopsie. :scared:

Aha. So you know. ;)

This is one of the very early models - before they mastered the Heisenberg Diecast Process (before we didn't know whether it was going to live or die) but after that we knew how to cast the die, and so the die is now totally on tap at any time. Oooops. Hope that wasn't classified. Haven't looked too closely at the new protocols.

Early efforts at the Hyper-jump suspension system:

Could lead to some very erratic jumps - leading more to time jumps than space jumps.
Also some other pics - being able to assume any relative size, here it is using fMRI to suck up all the data from my GT4 save.

As far as my memory serves, Dr. Ford, this was hidden amidst the collective arrogance of in-your-face knock-offs from a Chinese-made set of 100 cars that I acquired probably about 20 years ago. For the life of me I'll never be able to track down the source.
It's one of the oldest cars to survive the psychotic rut of collecting (you know how it is - we give up, then we start again, then we stop (like Kato a6m5,) then we go crazy again, then we realise it's taking over our lives, attic, office drawers, then we slow down, then we get mad at everybody else who is still collecting, then we go on a binge . . . you must have had a lot of patients with such tormenting maladies.

The fact that the Stratos was good enough for them to copy - even so long ago, says a lot about the iconic image of the car to these toy car makers, eh?

He's right, I'm wrong, the 57 has single headlamps. Also, a steal.

I'm pretty sure that I own over 600 Hotwheels/Matchbox cars.

No pics no glory, dude.

Hmm... The 'HJS System' suggests 'Corgi' class, yet the landing gear appears to be 'Tomica corp'. Who manufactures such stellar craft?

China. But it's a Tomica rip-off.

Indeed it does. I really like that knock off version. and am still very curious to find out who actually produced it... Hmm, maybe one for detective Columbo.

[EDIT]

Thanks Columbo.. i mean Cano. 👍

Found a couple returned cars that had their wheels swapped.

Yeah, the other day while digging though 10 packs, I came across one pack that had the top left car removed. 👎

Well, he does appear out of nowhere . . . and his blows can be deadly.

Or the Diabolical One, who is also good at that game - but if I send it to him for investigation, I may not get the evidence back.

Speaking about the rarity of very old knockoffs - here's a point for discussion - what makes something 'rare'? What gives it that aspect of collectibility?

I find some knockoffs have a charm all of their own, and sometimes i actually prefer them to the real thing.. Once had a Chinese knockoff of the Matchbox M1 procar. I honestly preferred it.

MG - that would be valuable right now. Bet not a lot of them exist anymore.

I think that's one of the core characteristics of 'rarity'. That not many of them (or it i.e. diamonds, etc) exist. That adds to the value. Like the RLBB, or the Blue Dodger, or some of the more ancient Lesneys.

This happens to some of the fantasy cars, too - they are mostly bought for children, the children lose or destroy them, and not enough get back into the collection circuit.

My camera is broken. I actually took out all of my Hotwheels cars last night and helped my dad build shelves, and I put the shelves in my room with all of the Hotwheels on it.

No pics no glory dude. Sorry.

Cellphone? Even I have a cellphone that takes pics.

Good going SpeedDrift - and welcome to the thread. Yes, pics are obligatory, unless you want to be dragged to the High Court of Ludicrous Claims where you will be drawn, quartered and fed to the sharks.
You can choose to walk the plank, if you apologise for your big fat fib.

You must have a great Dad - helps you get your stuff together 👍
Looking forward to pics, when you can - but meanwhile don't hesitate to tell us what you have that you think may interest us.
Also - unless you have been lurking in this thread for years - go back and read a lot of the pages - there's great pics, some good info, and even some jokes you wouldn't want to miss in your life. ;)
