OMG just won my first ever hot wheels on eBay!! (and its all because you guys)
3 - 1969 Redlines
will post them once they arrived

Also... am I the only one who hates hot wheel 5 packs? It seems every 5 pack I see always has one car I want and then 4 cars I could care less about.

Ferrari 5 packs are an exception to me. Also some 90's 5 packs are pretty cool, especially the Porsche & Chevrolet ones from '97.

Awesome. 👍

Went to the shops today and they haven't restocked the hotwheels :(

Looking forward to these redlines pics though :)

Just found out my bank has considered Paypal a foreign atm since 1/2/11. Every time I've made a payment through payment, received a payment or been refunded money...they charged me $1 :banghead: In January alone I was charged $16 and I spent less than $10 per transaction. The people I trust with my money are doing things to me they wouldnt tell in confession!

just a quick up-date from my auctions - 2 more 1969 redlines plus Mercedes 540K from 1982
and I will stop right here right now because it starting to get very addicted to fast to soon as i bought 48 HW in less then 48 hours :dunce: :dunce:

I hate you so much.... in a good way

yeahg, it gets like that. The best advice I can give you is, now that you've discovered E-Bay... DONT USE IT. DELETE IT FROM YOUR BOOKMARKS.

It's evil personified.

aye I know eBay for long time just never use it for buying HW and i have to say it's not the same a digging in a shop shelf to find what you want ;)

@Cano -- Do you know if/when you'll be picking up the package I sent?
Oh and has anyone here sold on The Toy Peddler? I'm finding eBay to be very cost inefficient when the cars I'm looking to sell retail for a couple bucks only.

I guess I better show some of my mini collection. What I picked up today: (56k you are about to get slaughtered.:sly:)

I wouldn't have bought any of the blister-packed ones save for the black Golf; the loose ones, however, are the tits. That white-walled Passion is awesome, what version is it? also, the Real Rider 'Bird! It's like new! and the wine Bywayman! I didn't know that color variation.

And for 66 cents each car, amazing deals. You had a field day, bud.

White Wall Passion is from the Revealers set. The T-Bird was $5, but it was buy one, get one so the $3 Passion was free. I paid $1 for the Bywayman and $1 for the Revealers 930. The orange Baywatch jeep was $2 but its a fresh pull. I bought the carded ones 3/1.00 and plan to open all of them except the virtual collections cars.

They were still a good buy all of them, specially the Bird-Passion couple. The Bywayman sound like a steal, I had never seen that color. Good day indeed.

Nice finds diabolicwyvern, you did well.

I decided to make a diorama of sorts, with a American car show.

  • My brothers a member of the Volvo owners club, so I bought this lot to gift him the silver 760 and keep the other. Had to have them ship from England, but well worth the the few bucks extra.
  • The loose lot all came from the same eBay person. I only wanted the lot of 4 Stutz's but his combined shipping was .50 a lot. Won the Stocker and Spoiler sports for opening .99 bids. He just gave me the Pacers and Hare Splitters...not sure why, but the Orange HO is in decent condition.
  • The Blue Card lot was a reach at $19. I'm keeping the Stocker, Diablo Street Roader, Baja Bug and Aurora on card and trading/selling/opening the rest. I'm certain I can get $1/car for most of them carded at a trade show.

How cool is that airship? :D
I picked up the same Pontiac Firebird a few days ago.

Also got these:

Already had the British Lancer police car. Not sure what this blue one is, but looks nice. What I don't get is that this one has blue police lights, but the British version doesn't, though it would've been the correct color for the car. Go figure.

P.S. Finally got the Studebaker Hot Wheel truck, too. Even better looking in person. 👍

Those loose cars are awesome, specially the Volvos, amazing shape! As for the Blue Cards, $1 each, really? I sell them for about $4 over here o_o and it's the cheapest you can get them around this area.

If I sell the them @ $1 a piece....its a quick turnaround and it means I've spent just $4 on the remaining 5 cars I actually want. Plus, the Stocker w/ gold UHs is worth 8-10. (I nearly bought an identical one this pat weekend for $10 at the STL HWC show. I don't look at HW as an investment, more as a hobby, so just recouping costs to make the cars I want essentially free is worth it.

The Chevy stocker's value lies in which sponsors are on the quarter panel. Depending on which ones are or are not there, its betwen $1 and maybe 7-8 loose mint.

Nice. I have the red VW (you can even see it in my diorama).

Ok, thanks.

Very nice grabs $miglo, the Iso Grifo is in top shape! And the red VW is the rare color as far as I know.

As for me, seeing that my all-conquering Cipsas didn't have any effect on you all miscreants (thanks Apokalypse, haha), here is the first batch of pictures of the E-Bay stuff that I liberated from their prisons. These are the Delivery/Slick Rides series, which isn’t sold in Mexico, contrary to, for example, HW Garage, Classics or Dragstrip Demons, which are sold here but none of them complete. I liked this series, but I’d love it even more if the cars didn’t have such ridiculous tampos some times. I understand the big bucks deals ‘tween Hot Wheels and the speed equipment aftermarket companies, but some are completely horrid and out of place. Others look pretty decent, though. These were the ones I more or less liked and so, I pulled them out.

IMG_3878.jpg

Let’s start with my favorite of the series, the Hurst-sponsored 1959 Chevy Sedan Delivery. I’ve always liked the 59 Chev in all its variants, those drop-like tail-lamps always fascinated me. This casting is spot on and is also one of the few Deliveries that look like a real car could be painted like this and still look cool.
IMG_3881.jpg

IMG_3880.jpg

That is because Hurst’s colours have always been white and gold, at least in the 60s, and it indeed built several trackside service vehicles that had these colors. Later, in the 70s and 80s, Hurst’s colors were black and gold, and it’s a real shame that HW went with cream instead of gold for the second version, if it was black and gold both would have been perfect.
IMG_3882.jpg

IMG_3884.jpg

Now we have both versions of the Union 76 1964 Dodge Van. I’m almost tempted to erase the Union tampos so only the scallops remain, but nah. I love how these things sit frame-scrapping low, and the casting is pretty much perfect.
IMG_3886.jpg

IMG_3887.jpg

I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of work it would take to lower a real one as much; also, those new Steelie wheels are awesome, so retro but in modern sizes, those would be like 17” and 20” in real life.
IMG_3888.jpg

IMG_3890.jpg

Here is the competition of the 55 Chevy panel, the new-for-the-series GMC in Quaker livery. Green one looks better because green has always been the Quaker color, but both look well and the casting is pretty much perfect, and so low.
IMG_3891.jpg

IMG_3894.jpg

IMG_3892.jpg

Imagine what the size of those wheels would be in real life!
IMG_3893.jpg

The 1955 panel, pretty decent in Goodyear colors even with yellow windows. The front tires poke a bit out of the fenders bur aside that, it’s pretty neat and it still has the motorcycle in the back, not like the one in the 2011 Garage lineup.
IMG_3895.jpg

IMG_3897.jpg

IMG_3898.jpg

The 32 Ford panel delivery has been in the line for almost 30 years now and is seen here in good-looking B&M logos, but the really cool one here is the Model A pickup –which, I think, debuted in the Classics series some years ago- and we can now see it in Racer Brown livery!
IMG_3899.jpg

IMG_3900.jpg

I was really pleased to see that HW considered such a traditional company to appear in these series, as they aren’t a big megabuck corporation like Comp or Crane, they are a small cam grinder like Clay Smith for example, but with lots of tradition in hot rodding lore.
IMG_3901.jpg

Here we can see the obvious differences ‘tween a Model A and a Model B, both look like boxes with wheels but they are so different.
IMG_3902.jpg

Now, the Edelbrock late-model Chevrolet pick-up, and the Centerline Flashsider, which is also a customized 1955 Chevy pick up; for this premium series this one opens it’s hood. Note the pinstripping. If Edelbrock built one just like that as a demo car, it would be a huge hit.
IMG_3903.jpg

IMG_3905.jpg

IMG_3904.jpg

I kept the Wynns Supervan because it’s color and livery reminded me of several Wynns-sponsored funny cars and top fuelers from the 70s that had exactly the same purple color. The Doug thorley Deco Delivery is here because I quite liked the tampo and because Thorley was a 60s hero, there wasn’t a single serious gasser or pro-stocker which wasn’t equipped with a set of “Headers By Doug”. ‘Sides, It’s the only one I have so far.
IMG_3906.jpg

IMG_3907.jpg

I love the tampo even if it doesn’t fit the truck at all, the Morris Minor would have been proper.
IMG_3908.jpg

Here we have both VW Type 3 Variants, or Squarebacks, turned into Panels. Of all the series, I think these are the most unmatched set of sponsor vs car, as Koni doesn’t make too many early VW parts, but the casting is pretty neat so here they are.

IMG_3909.jpg

IMG_3910.jpg

Finally, I wasn’t gonna keep this Ranchero as it’s wheels are horrid and I don’t really like the tampos, but the damned casting is sooo good it won me over.

We get the mainlines... hurray!

And that first picture with all the opened blister packs in the background makes me feel lame with my collection.

Some day though. :)

@Cano - I've been eyeballing those squareback panel vans on ebay for a while now. One day soon they will be mine.

I'm hoping they'll be released as a normal HW soon.

got to love the dodge van and the squareback's. Nice finds.

I finally got myself the delorean bttf, danica's nascar and a morris minor. Still on the hunt for some of the newer thunts, the s2000 and megane trophy.
