Very nice grabs $miglo, the Iso Grifo is in top shape! And the red VW is the rare color as far as I know.
As for me, seeing that my all-conquering Cipsas didn't have any effect on you all miscreants (thanks Apokalypse, haha), here is the first batch of pictures of the E-Bay stuff that I liberated from their prisons. These are the Delivery/Slick Rides series, which isnt sold in Mexico, contrary to, for example, HW Garage, Classics or Dragstrip Demons, which are sold here but none of them complete. I liked this series, but Id love it even more if the cars didnt have such ridiculous tampos some times. I understand the big bucks deals tween Hot Wheels and the speed equipment aftermarket companies, but some are completely horrid and out of place. Others look pretty decent, though. These were the ones I more or less liked and so, I pulled them out.
Lets start with my favorite of the series, the Hurst-sponsored 1959 Chevy Sedan Delivery. Ive always liked the 59 Chev in all its variants, those drop-like tail-lamps always fascinated me. This casting is spot on and is also one of the few Deliveries that look like a real car could be painted like this and still look cool.
That is because Hursts colours have always been white and gold, at least in the 60s, and it indeed built several trackside service vehicles that had these colors. Later, in the 70s and 80s, Hursts colors were black and gold, and its a real shame that HW went with cream instead of gold for the second version, if it was black and gold both would have been perfect.
Now we have both versions of the Union 76 1964 Dodge Van. Im almost tempted to erase the Union tampos so only the scallops remain, but nah. I love how these things sit frame-scrapping low, and the casting is pretty much perfect.
I cant even begin to imagine the amount of work it would take to lower a real one as much; also, those new Steelie wheels are awesome, so retro but in modern sizes, those would be like 17 and 20 in real life.
Here is the competition of the 55 Chevy panel, the new-for-the-series GMC in Quaker livery. Green one looks better because green has always been the Quaker color, but both look well and the casting is pretty much perfect, and so low.
Imagine what the size of those wheels would be in real life!
The 1955 panel, pretty decent in Goodyear colors even with yellow windows. The front tires poke a bit out of the fenders bur aside that, its pretty neat and it still has the motorcycle in the back, not like the one in the 2011 Garage lineup.
The 32 Ford panel delivery has been in the line for almost 30 years now and is seen here in good-looking B&M logos, but the really cool one here is the Model A pickup which, I think, debuted in the Classics series some years ago- and we can now see it in Racer Brown livery!
I was really pleased to see that HW considered such a traditional company to appear in these series, as they arent a big megabuck corporation like Comp or Crane, they are a small cam grinder like Clay Smith for example, but with lots of tradition in hot rodding lore.
Here we can see the obvious differences tween a Model A and a Model B, both look like boxes with wheels but they are so different.
Now, the Edelbrock late-model Chevrolet pick-up, and the Centerline Flashsider, which is also a customized 1955 Chevy pick up; for this premium series this one opens its hood. Note the pinstripping. If Edelbrock built one just like that as a demo car, it would be a huge hit.
I kept the Wynns Supervan because its color and livery reminded me of several Wynns-sponsored funny cars and top fuelers from the 70s that had exactly the same purple color. The Doug thorley Deco Delivery is here because I quite liked the tampo and because Thorley was a 60s hero, there wasnt a single serious gasser or pro-stocker which wasnt equipped with a set of Headers By Doug. Sides, Its the only one I have so far.
I love the tampo even if it doesnt fit the truck at all, the Morris Minor would have been proper.
Here we have both VW Type 3 Variants, or Squarebacks, turned into Panels. Of all the series, I think these are the most unmatched set of sponsor vs car, as Koni doesnt make too many early VW parts, but the casting is pretty neat so here they are.
Finally, I wasnt gonna keep this Ranchero as its wheels are horrid and I dont really like the tampos, but the damned casting is sooo good it won me over.
