I've passed up a bunch of them too. Some models actually came out by the dozen, last time I went to a Wal Mart I left behind about 15 regular TH 1965 Pontiac GTOs; just a week ago I found two regular Mustang Funny cars... the regular cars do show uo, it's the rubeer-tired ones the ones that are REALLY difficult to find due to scalpers.

Recently passed up on the GTO as well. Already have one. :D

EDIT:
This is my 1337th post. This thread now official amazing.

Thats a sweet TH $miglo, lots of nice detail and looks pretty huge.

it is quite big and much much heavier then the normal HW

It's quite hard to find here in the UK and I think its mainly to do with the frequency of new deliveries which can be months apart because they don't sell very fast.

Robin.

it takes me about 3 years to found a TH and you right, a turn over of new HW is very low over here as well. especially they not order new stock until every single car is gone

Depends on your location and how many scalpers you have in your area. Everywhere I have lived, unless you go Hotwheels hunting at midnight or 5 in the morning, your chances of finding a Treasure Hunt are nill. I've only found mine by going through unopened boxes, or being the first person to a re-stocked pegs. Even then, some dishonest employees will sometimes hide them in the back room so they can purchase them after their shift, then they throw them up on eBay to make a profit.

I hate those ones that are opened. Most of the time they're the good ones. Or the Mystery Car ones. :grumpy:

At first I was like  But then I was like :grumpy:

You answer:

Actually that answer is not entirely true. There have been several treasure hunts released using old models from years past. The Baja Bug from last year comes to mind.

However they are a some-what limited production model produced for one year under the "Treasure Hunt" series. The Super TH's, known by their "$" symbol on the packaging, and rubber tires are the harder ones to find.

I'm somehow sore at the guys overseas finding these rare treasure hunts.

Like R1600 was saying, I also suspect that I might live in a competitive area where population of the collectors & scalpers are too high. If we only had Mexican Walmart in my area...... :P Thanks for the feedback everybody. 👍

You don't want that. Wal Mart is the one supermarket that is more deeply involved in TH scalping, ranging from the Mattel guys who put the toys in the aisles, to their direct Wal Mart bosses who tell them to keep the THs for themselves.

I found 15 GTOs, yeah, but they were there because the GTO was one of the most common THs of the year and everyone has it by now, they were all short cards which are less valuable in the black market, all were regulars of course, and another cute little thing: the guy that put them in the aisles put stapples on them. ONLY on the THs, to ensure that the collectors/scalpers won't take them because they're worth nothing damaged.

And I've seen worse stuff. Belive me, you're fine as you are. In fact, I wish we had US Wal Mart over here. Every HW premium series available, and also JL and Greenlight and other car brands. You don't know what it's like to chase down JLs or Greenlights here and haviing to pay $15 for one.

I posted them in my for sale thread but I don't think you can get to it. Give me 1 minute...

Edit:

Hotwheels! You're looking at 119 Various Hotwheels that I am selling AS A WHOLE PACKAGE. Some are worth more than others, and some of the packaging might not be completely mint. However, I think my asking price of $100 + Shipping is reasonable. But there's a bonus!

If you want the cars pictured below as well, I can include them for an additional $75.

Ah, they're all recent... sorry bud, I already have all those, including the THs. But it's a good package. Someone should bite.

put them up on E-Bay dude, with a buy now of $90 you may sell them pretty quick. The THS would for sure sell for 75, maybe even more, as there are a few $s in there.

I canceled my PayPal account and refuse to sell on eBay now after both of them refused to help me when someone scammed me out of $150.

Putting them on Craigslist now...

Whoa, craiglist? Isn't that the same place where people get scammed all the time?

Not if you know how to use it properly. And it's not like I'm trying to sell a real car. :P

Edit: And I've sold many things on CL over the past few years, never had a problem. (including real cars)

Woah! I would love to buy them, but I'm broke as heck and trying to build my collection all the way, plus or saving for my car and/or project car, college and a wheel set with everything included is a complete 🤬.

But good luck selling them :).

Thanks. I know the whole lot is worth a bit more than I'm asking as I've got some wheel errors, variations and hard to find cars in there. No hits on craigslist yet might take a few days.

Orange Evora. Ford GT: Hotwheels and Evora: Matchbox ?

Correct.

I have that Evora, but I want that orange GTX1.

I made another pickup from the local Wal-Mart the other day, I got some goodies including the yellow Caterham, both lime green Evoras (one was in a 5-pack), a Greenlight and a Castline M2 (sorry Cano :sly: ). I passed up both a purple and a green Panamera, I'll probably nab them if they're there next time. Still no camera here at college so I'll have pics of everything I picked up this semester once I'm back home.

Cano, stop bawling, and pass me the tissues. ( got dammit ) heh heh.

Stop it ben, you sadist. Damn. what an awesome collection. And so many cars that bring back so many memories . . . hate to see the state that some of them are in. Still precious though, hope that wrecking yard comes off well - waiting to see the end result. Maybe it will turn out to be a traveling show?

Ryou - what model of Fiero did your Dad have? 2M6? GT? Miss that car, was a pocket rocket - power to weight ratio had me leaving many a 'vette at the lights. Treed quite a few cars with that little beauty but wifey was awesomely jealous of it - thought it was a chick magnet. Actually it was - because it had that sort of 'cutesy' look to it - women wanted to pet it, I think. Had to trade it in when my first kid was born, grrrrrr . . .

Um, yeah, that was a HW GTX1 and a Matchbox Evora, guys, you . . . are . . . good!
Watching a movie while sneakily trying to post here. heh heh, so anyway, here goes, wanted to show you some of my 'trapped' vehicles:

this weekend the Mexico Hot Wheels Convention was held.

I'll show you the loot soon, but suffice it to say, it's almost 50 cars.
