So I gotta admit, I was in a pretty 🤬 mood last night and into today (things are good now though), and now that I have a clear mind, I've made a final decision.

Beyond temporarily stopping to focus on selling, I'm partially long term temporarily stopping with almost everything HW and MB. At the end of the day, even half of the crap that has happened while hunting just isn't worth it. Plus I can find such cars all day long but don't have the same luck with other 1:64 cars such as Johnny Lightning, M2, NASCAR, etc. which truth be told I'd rather have. It's just higher cost and less availability (along with less castings that catch my eye) results in me rarely buying them. In the end I may just end up saving money or at least be able to get more higher end stuff. Not to mention that I have some other stuff to worry about as well (I have a three wheeler to fix and sell for one thing).

As for everyone's responses since my post last night, I intend to keep what you said in mind should I find myself in the same situation again. Which let's be honest here, I probably will. It's pretty much as natural for me as breathing or having a beating heart.

And also, regarding selling, I've put together a couple of boxes of stuff to sell but I'm only about a third of the way there. I'm trying to hustle and get done with it all by the 16th this month, because my local dirt track is hosting a flea market that day and it's also a raceday, so I'd like to be in the stands that night for the racing. However if I am ready to start selling for that day, I might not be able to because all vendors must provide their own tables and I currently don't have any at the moment. We will see though.

Odd, odd car for Auto World. Old pics from 2014.

GTP-exclusive tip: Offer what you got to us first.

Next step: Do you care more about the money to be made or actually just getting them out of your house and life?

Well, I'm not in a huge rush to move them, so I'd like to try to recoup the investment as much as possible.

I.... got email from amiami again. They are moving the TLV Safety Loader release back to September. I can't wait until the next release update! :dopey:

I'm going to have combine it with the 787b again, now. What the bloody hell is going on!?

Japanbooster also has the Safety Loader as October.

According to the AmiAmi email. It was a mistake from the manufacturer.
We received a mistake in the updates from the manufacture. This item we previously were told was delayed to October. We have now been told there was an error and it is actually still going to be released in September. We know this caused a lot of trouble to our customers so we offer our sincere apologies.

I'd say that September is the concrete release date now but who knows?

I figure this is the best place to pose this question. Do any of you know roughly what full sets of the Hot Wheels World Race and Acceleracers cars would go for? I'm not looking to sell, but I'm just curious at this point. I'd like to know if I'm sitting on something that could potentially be valuable. Any sales I've found for reference are individuals or small lots, not whole sets, so I figured I'd see if anyone here had an idea.

Is it worth trying to sell error cars? I know there are some people who do collect errors so there'd probably be at least a small market for them. I was thinking about marking them "make offer" since I don't know an actual price to shoot for or how much people would be willing to pay.

So some of you know that image hosting site Photobucket started collecting ransom, after they killed all the 3rd party linking? They are private business, I think it's a crap move, but I slowly started manually transferring the images over to blogger where my blog is.

Earlier this week, they have somehow blocked me from even doing that. Photobucket is now holding my images hostage & wont't even let me access it(my post on the matter). How low can Photobucket go? Apparently, lot lower. I've been trying to find my Kyosho 787B images on my desktop for days now & I finally found them & repaired the post. I'll share couple of the additional images that were not part of the original post on here:

New & Improved 787B Post

@GroupB @Spacegoat - I also got the same email from amiami, blaming the "October" release info on Tomytec error.

@Tunerguy21 - I have no knowledge of this series, but if it were me, I'd look at numerous eBay listings on the "sold item" search & get a rough idea of how much the set might go for. On a set such as these, there is no set value, as they continue to change with time & the prospective buyer.

@Johnny1996 - Variants are one thing, but errors I think are tougher sell, because even less collectors are into them. I wish you luck, and without going online to sell, I think you'll need some of that. :D

First of all regarding the Photobucket deal, just purely my two cents here, that's chicken poo to say the least.

And for selling the errors, I agree with you on the luck part. Most of mine are cars not in the right position in the blister, or are wheel errors. I'm gonna have my luck cut out for me so I do appreciate it.

I currently have three full boxes and one in progress of mainline Hot Wheels that I'm keeping. These boxes measure 12" by 12" by 10 1/2", not sure how many individual cars are in them, but they're filled to the brim.

That's just it. I don't see anyone selling full sets anywhere. It's only portions or single cars. There are a couple I've seen going for crazy money ($200 for a single car), but those are from factory sets and I'd say aren't particularly representative of what you'd typically expect. I may just have to find someone that can appraise what I have, but that'll have to wait till they can be dug out of storage. If anybody else might have any kind of idea, that'd be much appreciated.

Of all the errors, those are the most sellable IMO. Facing the wrong way in the blister doesn't harm the car, and wheel errors are still presentable 99% of the time. Stuff like bad rivets, missing pieces, etc. are really only for the niche crowd of people who like errors or want a conversation piece.

I was thinking just that earlier. Especially since there would probably be a kid that wanted a car and whoever was paying for it probably wouldn't care that the car was facing the wrong way. Perhaps that would be why the kid wanted the car in the first place also.

And speaking of bad rivets, one of my errors has what looks like the rivet tool completely missed the proper spot and shot through the front wheel. I'll have to post a picture of it tomorrow if I don't forget. It's the first and so far only time I've seen such a thing.

Errors these days are worth less because of people known to "forge" them.

upside-down/backwards cars arguably have the least value because of how easy it is to recreate it.

Come to think of it, I've seen it done. And I don't know for sure myself but apparently there's a trick to opening blisters and resealing them without leaving any traces of it being done.

That I can definitely see being done. After all the blisters don't follow the shape of the car like the NASCAR cars do for example.

Best thing you can do is probably not to ask for too much, and photograph the blister and the back of the card to further prove it hasn't been tampered with.

I think I'll go looking at some hot wheels today. I stopped doing this long time ago (I now only look while on errands, commute, etc.), but there are few cars out there I want right now that cost too much online.

Johnny's trying to sell them locally.

I've decided what I'm gonna do with the errors is uncard some and sell them loose or put them toward customs. Some I'll keep carded and try to sell them, but if they make no sell then they'll go with the other ones.

Checked two Targets & a Toys R Us. Wanted orange Nissan GT-R, white Honda Civic, black or red(Target Exclusive) Kool Kombis. How about a big fat no, no, no & no. Typical. :(

Ended up with these by the end:

Classic. Marked $10.99, I never trust stores, so I was going to price check it? I forgot. $15.99. Thanks Toys R Us. 👎

At the first Target. At least the shirt that sold out last time was restocked. Couldn't say no to the blue Chevelle. Shiny fantasy casting on the right, I don't know what that is, but it'll be in the next Hot Wheels racing draft with my de nephews.

At the second Target. I forgot I was hoping to run into the Taco Truck. It was the only casting I was actually meaning to get(I collect this casting). This Hot Dog car, it made my trip. OMFG, it's the best.

Bonus for my special upside down goat friend:

I left it at the Toys R Us, because you be mad if I took the last one fo sho.

Need to find yourself a HW Oscar Mayer Weinermobile and have a race-off!

Sold the Spark Le Mans Porsche 956s a month ago. Kinda regret it and ended up purchasing them again. Along with the Auto World Le Mans GT40 and upcoming Mazda 787B from TLV, I'm going to have a small collection of Le Mans 1st place winners! Just need to find the Spark 1/64 1st place Audi and Porsche 919.

Been meaning to post in here but have had a lot going on.

I found Street Wiener and bought a couple. I love it. Especially that the spatula/base is metal.

That hot dog car is a bit of a wiener, isn't it...?

Yeah, I had to say it, sue me. What else could I do when you post a car this funny...? The taco truck pales in comparison with such a work of art...👍
Oh, and props on getting an Eleanor tow combo. Love that car ever since seeing Gone In 60 Seconds on TV, and I loved it even more after seeing a replica in person. Getting a higher price for the set sucks, but how's the models' quality? Usual mediocre GL quality, or good GL quality?
