SPACE WEATHER

Boy talk about a disconnect. That last sentence has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with anything the sun does, anything it spews forth, anything it sends in any direction, any amount of flare material, normal or heavy solar wind; just nothing. The moon's shadow on the earth is just insignificant.
May have mentioned the eclipse as astronomers use the eclipse to study the suns corona and look for and compare previous activity. So it is to do with sun activity in that sense.
lol quite a few hours from mine (i live in harrison)... still VERY creepyThis is about 20 minutes from my house.......
TAMPA — Scientists say the magnetic north pole is moving toward Russia and the fallout has reached -- of all places -- Tampa International Airport.
The airport has closed its primary runway until Jan. 13 to repaint the numeric designators at each end and change taxiway signage to account for the shift in location of the Earth's magnetic north.
(CNN) -- Authorities in Maryland are investigating the deaths of about 2 million fish in Chesapeake Bay.
"Natural causes appear to be the reason," the Maryland Department of the Environment said in a news release. "Cold water stress exacerbated by a large population of the affected species (juvenile spot fish) appears to be the cause of the kill."
The investigation comes days after the deaths of an estimated 100,000 fish in northwest Arkansas.

Ouch, now check your own compases.
Shift of Earth's magnetic north pole impacts Tampa airport

Is that for real? Are the magnetic poles actually shifting right now?
The north magnetic pole is moving toward Siberia at 55km/day.
We don't know what the south magnetic pole is doing.
We don't know if the north magnetic pole is going to continue moving or not.
These polar magnetic movements have taken place many times in the past. Usually, the pole shifts a short way then shifts back to near where it was. Sometimes, a complete reversal is made. We need to stress these complete reversals are extremely rare - millions of years. The short wanderings or "excursions" as they are called, happen every few thousand years or so.

The closure of the west parallel runway will result in more activity on the east parallel runway and more noise for residential areas of south Tampa.
The busiest runway will be re-designated 19R/1L on aviation charts. It's been 18R/36L, indicating its alignment along the 180-degree approach from the north and the 360-degree approach from the south.
Both timescales mean that the last one would have happened before our understanding of the poles.
We also are way overdue a complete one, by studing rocks and such scientists have tracked when these happened each time and we have now gone the longest between them we have in the history of the earth.
Terrifying scientific discovery: Strange emissions by sun are suddenly mutating matter…

(FOLLY BEACH, S.C.) -- Schools of dead fish have washed ashore on Folly Beach this week.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources confirmed the reports that innumerable menhaden fish were coating Folly Beach Thursday.
We are being impacting by a solar wind stream from a coronal hole. Good night for aurora watching, it's going to be nice here tonight.

These two articles are less of doom and gloom of what was brought up before about the sun and possible mystery particles that may be affecting radioactive decay. It doesn't have much bearing on us humans, but it is interesting.

This global plotting of recent mass animal deaths tells me something about the whole issue. It's highly connected to the areas of English language media consumption. More culturally related than to the science of bird or fish deaths.
Anyone think this may actually be, well, normal? I have not done any research at all on this topic, however, I do know the media is extremely good at taking little known stories, (that may actually be a very common day to day phenomenon) and turn them into the next "crisis".
Just my thought on that.
