2009 ADAC Zurich 24h (24h of Nürburgring)

 That's brilliant

Are the R8's still AWD, or has it all been stripped out, if it rains this will be a big advantage.

R8 LMS are Rearwheeldrive. In TV they said AWD is forbidden in the GT3. But I can´t tell if that is true.

Yeah, I hate it every year again that the "DSF" shows all ******** of the world instead of more coverage of the Race...

That is true. Rear wheel drive only in GT3. As it is in GT2 and GT1 aswell.

Absolutely loving those R8's at the moment, they look stunning. To be honest, I don't have a favourite team/person to win at the moment. In my opinion, finishing the race is a huge achievement on its own let alone winning the event!

Good oppinion. But don´t forget the classes. The "small" teams try to win their classes :)
And in the smaller classes the fight doesn´t end till the end ;)

This must be Hermann Tilke then...

I thought you were joking. Sadly you weren't. I don't care how rich I am or whatever, if I'm losing my team 30 seconds a lap there's no way I would race. I'd plant my you know what in one of those crappy back marker cars and enjoy myself that way. I wouldn't butcher the race for the other drivers who have a shot at winning it all. What garbage

Earth
The #40 Ford GT

Is this car for real, or is it some lower budget privately run car with rich businessmen as drivers with one professional driver that did that lap that will fade in the first couple of hours then break down before 6 hours or are they for real? Or at least semi-real?

Looks like what I posted yesterday was right....

Well you are partly right. The Team is a good team. They don´t want to drive just another Porsche. They built their own Lamborghini Gallardo. Sadly it was burnt down in the first VLN (Long distance cup Nordschleife) race.

So they started in the third race with that Ford GT and had in the 4 hours race ZERO problems. Well, Hermann Tilke is giving the money ;)
But in the last years he only drove 1 or 2 stints (at the 24h Race). The rest of the drivers are all very good. The best of them is in my oppinion Dirk Adorf. (He did the Pole LAP and he himself said it was only possible because of the long time he could drive behind the Audi (Scheider was driving) on the Döttinger Höhe.

But of course you are right, it would have been better to put a driver of the class of Marc Basseng in the car instead of Tilke ;)

Only 30 Minutes till the next TV coverage...

I've been out since the coverage switched to the static camera, can anybody fill me in on what's happened?

I'd love it if you said that either the Ford or the Manthey RSR is a the front.

The Ford seems to be climbing on the list again. Must say I´m impressed by the 3rd placed Porsche. It´s a cup car, and should be a tad slower than the GT3 cars.

Yay! #1 Manthey RSR takes 2nd place.
