2009 ADAC Zurich 24h (24h of Nürburgring)

The #77 BMW Z4M is tumbling down the leaderboard.

If we have a downpour I think I would rather be driving one of the lead R8's.

On a wet/greasy track I'm guessing the mid engined R8 would be easier to drive than the rear engine'd 911's

The CUP S Porsches are rather fast in the wet... As they showed in the first training. Traction is one of the advantages of rear engine cars. But if it is "easy" to drive... Well, on the leading cars are only Pro drivers...

15 Minutes to TV Broadcast

#1 leading again...

Your probably right, whats a handful for me is more like fun for a pro 👍

TV Broadcast is on again.
Interview with Schubert Motorsport... Z4 M-Coupé had an engine failure.

#18 is a "normal" Cup Porsche. Uwe Alzen is one of the Drivers.

Fun at first, but as it gets later into the night, and you have already done a few stints, a handful can really become a handful.

Part of doing well in endurance races is surviving, a nice neutral car makes things that much easier, and doesn't sap your concentration quite the same. That said, it is easy to get complacent doing a long stint when your car handles like its on rails.

edit] Scirocco in 18th.

oh and rain. :scared:

who is going to dive into the pits first?

The Scirocco is a very nice car to drive. Even Patrick Simon said that he never was so relaxed after 10 laps of racing in one...

I have driven the road version and it is great, which is why I am supporting it. My dad owns one. :)

I cannot get over how close this race is, only a 50 second gap between the #1 Porsche and #99 Audi after 45 laps

Last year result in the V2 Class after 24h was closer than this ;)

@ Stevi: My friend drove one of them and was a bit disappointed... He didn´t buy it because of that and the price tag in germany.

7 hours in and there is no clear winner, just shows how good this race is.

That's odd, because all I ever read is good reviews for that car, and I personally would agree that it drives very well indeed.

[edit] 4 Scirocco's in the top 30.

No offense my friend, but personal oppinions may differ, or?
I didn´t drive one yet and I was personally very disappointed with the latest TT. Even when all the media is telling how "good" it is.

Sooner or later you will find out that "medias oppinion" and your own oppinion will differ.

[Edit] To tell you what I mean:
The Audi TT was pretty much pushed in germany by the media. How great it is and so on...
Especially the new Steering everyone "loved". And then I drove the car myself.
It is not bad, but it has nearly no feedback. It feels somehow wrong. You hear the fronttires loosing the grip but you don´t feel it in the steering wheel. And then I remember the "media" -> The best and most direct steering with very good feedback...
Sooner or later you will "find out" something like that.
(Hype GAMES are sometimes similiar...)

It was a great time talking with you all.
I will go to bed now. I will be back online when the TV broadcasting starts again. (07:00 german time)

Have a good night and enjoy the race!
Till later!
Greetings
