This thread is more about how to obtain 200pts, there are others where people have been venting their thoughts about the whole system...

anychance of a summary of the results again, soon? Cheers! 👍

yeah, sorry, got off on a wild tangent and forgot to post my origainl post which is 200 pt race with Dodge Ram in the Sports Truck Race, bone stock, and beat the comp (Chevy Silverado Concept) by 4.3 seconds and I wasn't graceful about it... because that thing drives like a, uh, well, a truck.

Moloch has been putting up the summaries, but if he doesn't put one up in the next couple of days then I'll do it.

Off topic: Nice to see you've put my R8/Speed 8 ignorance into your sig. Now i'm going to run the F1 champ in the Bentley and see which I like to drive more. You've given me another 30hrs of playing!

Nice to see I can encourage other players!! Do let me know your verdict... I really can't wait till I get the Bentley. It'll be lapping the Sarthe II day and night. :sly: I stuck it in my sig because so many people keep saying they are the same car :yuck: I will spread the truth!!

Cheers for your work on the summary.

Yeah, I know! Very often you have a good lead, and suddenly the half last lap or so the 2nd car driver is transformed into Ayrton Senna or Schumi. Annoying!

An effect of the computer's tire simulation... maybe?

If anyone a csv of the summary let me know. The fields I am using are:
Series,Tournament,Car,Pts,HP,New,Oil,Tyres,Ind,Exh,Other,kg,DT/Susp,Comment.

Could be better, but that's just how it is for the time being.

I tried BMW 120i in the 1 Series Trophy, and sorry, it doesn't work. It was 54 pts for me , instead of 176.

Anyway, great list! Thank you!

El Capitan Endurance - 200 Points with slightly modified 05 Mustang. Race suspension... sport hards... some engine mods, maybe ~360hp.

Won it by 20-30 seconds at the end. Only fast AI car in the field was a Shelby Series One.

Did you have 200 ballast and N1 tyres - this is probably what is required, and was not specified by the person who reported it. See Post #3 of this thread.

Beginner Hall: Sunday Cup [200 A-spec] Yaris: 70 hp

Beginner Hall: FF Challenge [200 A-spec] Mini Cooper: Stock hp; [Some races]

Hong Kong and Suzuka East - did have dt/susp (176 for GVE + chip, racing muffler and 152 + NA1 for Motegi :yuck: ... sure someone could do better...)

Uhh... I have a question... what's a Yaris??? :boggled: Is that a car in the PAL version that isn't in the NA version or just another term for some car I do have access to?

Moloch_horridus
Beginner Hall: MR Challenge [199 A-spec] MGF '97: S3/S3 tyres; [Some races]

Beginner's course and El Cap (big surprise eh?)

Moloch_horridus
Professional Hall: Clubman Cup [200 A-spec] Lotus Elise '72 : 133 hp; S3/S3 tyres; ? exhaust; Chip; DT/Susp: All; [Not Seoul]

Racing muffler

Professional Hall: Tuning Car Grand Prix [200 A-spec] Lancer GSR Rally Car '74: 219 hp; NA3 induction; [Not Tokyo]
Professional Hall: Tuning Car Grand Prix [200 A-spec] Clio Race Car :

Only for El Cap and Apricot in the Clio. Wish it'd been more.... Glad to know someone got 200p! I worked on that one for a while and just couldn't find the right combo. Gives me new incentive :)

Moloch_horridus
Extreme Hall: Premium Sports Lounge [196 A-spec] M3 GTR: Port Polish or NA1

Except for New York... will have to redo that one.

Moloch_horridus
France: 206 Cup [200 A-spec] 206 RC?: R3/R3 tyres; NA3 induction; R exhaust; Chip

Sorry, that was a 206 S16 that I bought used. Was @247 all said and done. Had the whole raft of dt/susp settings too.

Best part of that race is watching the RCs go too fast at Motorland and Pit EVERY LAP...

Thanks for maintaining the summary... Great work!

I'm not really an A-Spec point driver myself, but this thread is interesting reading and I'm in awe of the efforts peple are making here to get big points in bad/slow cars.

Haven't seen any mention of the Extreme Hall PD Cup yet. I reckon that'll be a challenge for you, in the same manner as the Classic races it throws in an odd mix of fast and slow cars. First time I entered with a Ford GT expecting a tough race, but the best competition was an Integra for a 1pt race! Gave up and retried with a Chevelle SS and this time I came up against a Nismo Fairlady Z and enjoyed some close races but still for only 10pts or so each time thanks to the other four slow cars.

I've since seen a Merc SL55, late-model RX7 and a Ford GT come up for the AI. Looks like you'd just have to keep entering until you find a field full of Jazz, Yaris/Vitz, 206 etc.

I look forward to seeing what you people do with this one.

I'm a tad guilty here - just realised when I said the Lupo is capable of 200pts at Beginner FF - it was completely stock as far as I remember. I won it from the license tests, got in and gave it a drive - and just lost out since I didnt know the track, nor did I know how to drive at the time either. So anyone with some skill should get a STOCK, no mods Lupo around for 200pts. Of coruse that depends on the competition.

Beginner Hall: FF Challenge [200 A-spec] Lupo: stock (100?)bhp, new oil, no ballast, S2/S2 tyres [to be confirmed] DT/Sus: stock

(what do the dots in B-Spec map next to your best time mean - orangish dots only seen occasionally).

Just to answer this one and hopefully not let this topic lose topicness...

I think those orange dots show up if the last lap you did was the fastest lap you did. (i.e. if Lap Time and Fastest Time are equal on screen.)

I might not be 100% correct though so might be worth testing.

El Capitan Endurance - Mazda RX7 - STOCK SETTINGS (ie. no ballast, stock tyres) /w Racing Exhaust 200 points

I nearly lapped the car in second place and would of if i didn't drive sloppy for the last pat of the race ;p

Can anyone confirm that the cars that will earn 200pts in the Like the Wind race are also capable of netting 200 points in the other races in extreme mode that use the Test Track and/or Super Speedway?

At test track, yes. At Super speedway, no chance - you need lots of downforce to corner fast at Speedway and the road cars can't cut it. Believe me I've tried - I'm must have put 40+ combinations through the first ten laps of the speedway enduro and everything less than LMP/Class-C/GT-1 gets whupped.

Thanks once again to Moloch for the summary so I don't have to do it!

and RenesisEvo - I've done the first five races of formula Gt in the Bentley and so far it would seem Bentley > Audi R8. Not much in it though!

👍 Good to hear heheh. I wouldn't expect there to be a huge difference: IRL the Audi has wider tyres; but the Bentley is more aerodynamically efficient having a roof. Both weigh 900kg and both had around 600bhp. I trust this Bentley is gaining 200 pts like the R8?

New 200p

BMW M3 GTR Race Car w/R2s went 7 for 10 in the Dream Car Championship

vs. Ford GT LM, Nissan GT-R Concept LM, Camaro LM, 350Z LM, Jag XJ220 LM

(just a note... if a Touring Car or that Rally Raid car showed up, the points dropped by about 80)

Lost Seoul, Sarthe II and Test Course (by almost 30s). Cote and Hong Kong were the toughest because I had to chase after the GT and Nissan which started 1st and 2nd. It ended ugly and got a bit physical :guilty:

Something weird happened... With the non-kinked version of Mulsenne, I expected to end dead last at Sarthe and have to make it up in the other races. BUT, with the help of the last 3 cars, I managed 3rd. That was a crazy race. Someone more skilled than I, with the right lineup, should be able to get 1st. It's pretty crazy when you have to depend on the other cars just to keep up.

💡

Thought some here might appreciate the challenge? I highly recommend it.

Call it... The Drafing Final Exam (worth 200p)!

- BMW M3 GTR vs. a 200p lineup at Sarthe II in Dream Car.

Extreme Hall: Premium Sports Lounge [196 A-spec] M3 GTR: Port Polish or NA1

Just been doing these races...

I however had an M3 GTR which had the works done on it except any NA tuning... At HongKong I got 160 points... against

SLR
Zonda
Cizetta
SL55
AM-Vantage

However in the next race the SLR wasn't there at New York and I only got 70!!
(SLR is the fastest of them lot - but fully tuned I won by 20 seconds... there is defs more scope for the big 200 here.)

Tried the Formula GT race around super speedway last night in the Audi R8 - Found the F1 cars tended to lap about 1 sec quicker. Used super hard racing tyre's and pitted every 32 laps, won by just over 2 laps in the end...

Indeed 200 points for the Bentley on R1's, though in the game both put out around 800hp (the stats on the purchase/garage screen lie, look at the replays and the settings screen).

Can your B-Spec win a 200 point A-Spec race ? (yes i know he cant win the points but you can set it up the same)

Maybe, but he'll need a lot of B-Spec points before he'll manage it and I haven't seen it done. More than likely is he'll get thrashed. Even if you qualify him in pole. Why would you want to anyway? It won't get you anything.

well how many points can a B-Spec driver get then ?

it would be a good guide to know which car i put him in for a race, i usually do the races the b-spec cant handle

Errr...I'm not sure what you mean. How many B-spec points? there are other threads for that.

I wouldn't use A-Spec points as a gauge for how difficult your B-spec driver will find the race since

1) You need to be quite good to win 200pt races in A-spec (give or take a few)

2) The B-spec driver is utterly useless at cornering (which is the only way to win 200pt races)

3) The B-spec driver has a lot of problems with overtaking and in a competitive race you need to do it a lot.

4) B-Spec boy can't block, which is also a necessary skill for tough races.

If you want high A-spec, competitive races drive them all yourself. If you don't care then give B-spc Boy your best car and set ups and he can win any race. The two aren't really comparable.

I just tried out my BMW M3 GTR'03 with 380 HP against several fields in Hong Kong. Here are some partial results against this group of cars:
Mercedes SLR McLaren'03
Cizeta V16T'94
Mercedes CL600'00
Pagani Zonda C12S'00
Ford GT'05
Using a combination of S3/S3 Tires versus this field yields 194 A-Spec Points.
Using a combination of S2/S3 Tires versus this field yields 200 A-Spec Points.
Both are easy victories and this is the field that I will look for when I run the remaining races in this category. There must be a field that will get one 200 A-Spec points even using S3/S3 Tires, but I need more time to find it.
