A few of my ex co-workers are there so its good that they didnt go all that way to see them lose!

Yeah, I watched the extra time and they dominated throughout and then won a well deserved penalty shoot out 👍 :)

Good. Glad a team that dominated actually won in the end on penalties. Sucks when you dominate a game then lose on a game of luck.

I agree, penalties are a really bad way of settling things. First there should be the standard of 30 mins extra time but with the golden goal and then if it's still level, it should go to a replay. And the tickets for the replay should be free for fans that went to the first game.

That reminds me of the cup final between Man United and Arsenal a few years back when United dominated the match but lost on penaltys...

Must be more than a few years if it was a final & Arsenal won

.... I'll get my coat.

Not only that. That sounds like the exact opposite as to how Arsenal play now. They often dominate games but can't do crap in the final third. Then they usually concede a few towards the end lol.

Another example of a team dominating a cup final and losing on penalties is Bayern v Chelsea in the European Cup last season...Bayern were all over Chelsea for much of the match..

Nah, that's just Chelsea's "Bus Parking" Capability :)

I've just realized that both Chelsea and United have 1 days rest before their FA cup tie on the 1st April. United are away at Sunderland and Chelsea away at Southampton in the Premier League both on 30th March.

Both teams will definatly rest players in their league games!
Yeah, which could prove fatal with Chelsea considering Southampton have found a bit of form recently. If they loose, it could cost them a Champions League place. With United, if we loose with a weakened team then the worst that could happen is that City gain 3 points on us to go 12 points behind.

Rafa needs to keep Chelsea in the top 4 and needs to win the FA cup to have any hope of surviving. I don't believe that will happen though.

Rafa is done regardless of Chelsea's outcomes this season. I think he'd like to finish top 4 and win the FA cup, maybe even Europa League to give himself good points on his resume/CV.

Who would come in then? The only guy I can think of is bring back Di Matteo (Definitely won't happen) or The Special One (Pretty sure he's at PSG).

It's Chelsea. Anything is possible. But I see Mourinho coming back to Chelsea more than going to PSG. It seems though he wants that coaching spot at Man U but fergie is in the way

I don't think Jose will ever get the United job let alone get it next year. That said, I could be wrong. I think he comes with too much else, fab coach but he's too controversial for United IMO. I think there is a good chance he's on his way back to Chelsea though.

Just read some news that he may have already had a secretive meeting and it sounds like a potential 3 year deal.

In the mean time, Reading have appointed Nigel Adkins as their new manager.

Im not sure about that appointment to be honest, i really like Nigel Adkins, i think it was terrible that he got sacked theway he did but i think you need a manager with experience of a Premier League relegation battle to help a team survive

They compared his record at Southampton to Mcdermott's record at Reading and Adkins win percentage was 46% and Mcdermotts was 45%! just one percent!...its a like-for-like swap if you ask me..

Rednapp is already taken though :P

I would have expected Adkins win percentage to be higher if I'm honest considering he took over in 2010 with Southampton in League 1 and 3 years later, in the EPL.

So domestic football is back with a vengence this weekend, theres loads of games on with it being easter weekend...cant bloody wait! (rubs hands in anticipation)

Hopefully Rooney, van Persie and the others can take their national team form back to PL and FA-cup this weekend.

Van Persie even goes as far as saying United will be where he ends his career.
