I can see Massa being ordered to go a lap down and intentionally block Vettel for a few laps early on until Alonso gets past. Then serving a penalty rinse and repeat until stop and go.

I really hope Ferrari won't stoop that low.

Anyways, I'll be hoping for a wet race with Alonso clinching the championship. I also really want to see Massa do well, a podium or maybe a win (if Ferrari let him).

If the stewards think its deliberate, can't they just black flag Massa? I'd see them do that rather than continuously give penalties.

Thinking about that, when was the last time the black flag was used in f1?

EDIT: Found this http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2005/6/3158.html

and found the answer to the question.

The last drivers to be black-flagged and disqualified during a race were Felipe Massa and Giancarlo Fisichella (pictured) during the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix, who had left the pits while the exit light was on red:

If Ferrari did anything so blatent as being mentioned here it wouldn't work, not in the modern era of penalties and bans/disqualifications/points removals.

Nobody should want to see that crap anyway, not if you're a true fan of the sport.

Apparently HRT don't have enough money to send their drivers out in P2.

EDIT: They're on track now.

Ferrari look like they're trying out a high downforce set up (quick middle sector / slow top speed). Thinking of rain on Sunday perhaps?

Who knows... top speeds are all over the place

Top speeds:
1 - Button: 321
2 - Vergne 315
6 - Alonso: 313
12 - Massa: 311
14 - Hamilton: 311
22 - Vettel: 308
23 - Webber: 307

Fastest lap at the time was Grosjean, 308 top speed.

Note the both the Lotus's also are on high downforce, Grosjean slowest of all through the speed traps, but quickest through the middle sector. Guess they expect rain too.

Why are you guessing they are expecting rain ?

High downforce setting suits that track quite well I think. You dont need tons of top speed and if you check other top team they arent far apart, except Button which is most probably testing a different setup than hamilton to see which would be the best.

Red Bull are always the slowest at speed trap anyway, same for the Lotus, nothing suprising here. Torro Rosso always compensate the lack of downforce by top speed.

I agree. This track will be murder on tyres if it stays dry. A less aggressive approach and pit strategy could be what he was testing.

Hamilton ends on top with a 1.14.0

Ahh God, I can see some fan interference this weekend, like the Ex Mercedes driver who gifted Barrichello the win at Monza when Mika was leading all those years back.

Hamilton is doing great in tha last 3-4 races and all this year!too bad he is going to Mercedes.

The thing that worry me the most as a Mclaren supporter is that Button is pretty far from Hamilton. Unless Mclaren produce a far better car than anyone next year I dont see how Button can win a championship.

LOL, don't look at the 1970's with your correctly placed XXIst century glasses.

In those days the involved, especially the drivers, weren't PR drones and you could have a guy like the smoker/drinker/womanizer Hunt delivering a punch on a track official just because he was mad, or indeed a ON TRACK (pit lane, to be precise) fist fight between a team principal and the race director

In today's F1 I guess internet forums would explode, the FIA would collect a lot of penalty money and a few guys would be banned or at least suspended.

Anyways ... keep in mind that in those days the drivers had no radio connection to the team, so whatever happened was Clay's doing. Oh and he didn't go down a lap to do it, he lost his car's nose hitting the back of a McLaren, replaced it, and when he found himself in front of another McLaren he probably thought of revenge, who knows, maybe he thought he had been brake checked.

Dare Devils era.

Some Twittering coming in from Spain that says HRT has closed doors:

Probably two empty grid slots in Brazil then.

Autosport or it didn't happen.

Now of all times, after opening up a new HQ, and looking more put together than ever before. It's a bit too hard to believe.

They are up for sale, usually not a good omen.

I'm aware of that, and Thesan Capital even said they were in talks with another Spanish firm who wanted to purchase the team, and would announce the new owners in a few weeks.

There have always been these rumors of the team being too poor to take part in sessions, or races, or pretty much anything, which has turned out to be untrue. I won't buy this.

Only way Alonso can win is if Vettel DNF. I don't see Vettel finishing less than 8th if he is still racing to the end of the race even if they put him at the back of the grid for some penalty or has to change his front wing or tires after the first lap. His car is just too fast even if Hamilton takes the win and Alonso 2nd. It would be nice to see Massa first and Alonso second with Vettel a DNF or less than 8th but that is asking a lot.

Then please take it up with James Allen.
