Now of all times, after opening up a new HQ,
Actually, they're just leasing the building. And it's not a dedicated racing team base, either - it's a warehouse on the edge of Caja Magica, a tennis arena in Madrid.

Agreed. It would be a nice end to his career. Was a stupid idea to come back in the first place, in my opinion. But whatever...

It's not as easy as it used to be for a champion to come back and be successful, unless he became WDC again he was only going to damage his reputation.

That's exactly why I think it wasn't a bright idea. Especially considering that he's gotten a seat in one of the inferior teams.

I would really laugh if irony strikes and the race doesn't get to 75% distance and half points are awarded after Ferrari were pretty much begging for rain.

Raikkonen having more engine problems, this time it's gone bang in a big way.

It's expected later either during the last part of quali or afterwards, then again it's expected tomorrow, possibly during the race, possibly not.

I really am rooting for Alonso, but, I can't see him winning. I agree, Schumi on the podium would be a nice touch.

Lol at Raikkonen, he's still sitting beside the track in a plastic chair just watching the session. He obviously decided there was no point going back to the garage so thought sod it, i'll stay here. Love it.

I wonder what Ferrari are going to do this week over the fact Massa is faster than Alonso. Tell him not to bother properly in Q3?

I reckon he'll be told to go hell for leather and try beat Vettel so he can try slow Vettel during the race.

What was Vettel doing in that replay there, holding his arm out the car? It didn't seem like the usual fist waving, nobody was there.

I don't see him doing that though, he's quick but he's not looking likely to beat the Red Bulls or McLarens. Not if it stays dry anyway. Plus that'd be risking it anyway, I see it much more likely he'll not even do a hot lap in Q3 to make sure Alonso is ahead.

I hope qualifying isn't ruined by rain (apparently it will start raining at the start of qualifying), I remember in Silverstone and Hockeheim Alonso was nowhere in Q2 but as the rain became heavier in Q3 his car was much faster than everyone elses all of a sudden. I don't mind how the tyres seem to wear out quickly but I don't like how it is absolutely essential that they are at the correct temperature to work properly.

They might tell Massa to bring out the red flag :sly: Seriously though, I imagine they'll tell him to not set a lap so he has the option of running long if tomorrow is dry so he can hold up Vettel.

Or they might try to draft Fernando.

Towards the end they said on the BBC, not the beginning.

But yes that's what I said above, I assume they'll not risk him starting ahead of Alonso and just start him from 9th/10th on the hard tyre and see what happens. It could be completely worthless though if Alonso can't even get on the podium and with all four McLaren and Red Bull drivers on form and the Lotus drivers likely to also be up there it could all be academic.

Rain could change everything though of course.

I like wet races but I like it when the rain is predictable and the drivers get the most out of it, not when a bit of luck and guessing comes into play. Personally I would hate to see a title decided by one driver coming in when it rains, the other not and the rain stopping or something like that. I want to see it come down to skill and teamwork if necessary.

I would love to see Alonso steal this championship, but unless something crazy happens with weather and Alonso gets lucky, Vettel will probably win the race and the championship.

I'm hoping Lewis learns why Jenson was faster, Jenson seems to have a similar edge like last year on this track but I think Lewis can beat him especially now that is wet and taking in the information from telemetry. I wonder if The Hulk does very well again.

I want Alonso to win the title.

I also want Button to finish ahead of Hamilton.

I've always preferred him. I think it's just cause he's less whiney, publically anyway.

That would be incredible. A final podium in his final race :)👍

Sadly, Mercs are crap, and are completely unreliable... :ouch:

Sad but true. It would be great of he got it, but he won't unless he gets lucky with the weather
