2012 Malaysian Grand Prix

They're supposedly the best drivers in the world, get paid millions per year and they're not racing? Prost, Senna, Schumacher and so on have all raced in worse conditions and they won't race now? Great for the sports image...

Just cause they raced in it, doesn't make it right. Also the Tilke tracks of today aren't exactly like those of yester-years. Flooded corners are a big issue along with the major visibility issues. They're not Dakar rally cars, major issues occur when they run through big standing pools of water.

Yes and I remember they all almost died at least once. Well Senna did :(

Guys also raced with leather helmets back in the day. Safety is paramount. I don't want to see any of these guys dead or seriously injured because they were racing on a flooded track. A spin is so easy in these conditions and if you can't see what's going on 10ft in front of you, a terrible crash is inevitable.

obviously common sense is out the window with some fans. Many seem to love when a car sails through the air like a F-22, only to nose dive and wreck in some soggy sand pit.

I agree with stopping as well. Full wet tires and massive downforce isn't keeping any F1 car on track with that much water falling. Complaining that drivers should be out there risking injuries in conditions that wouldn't allow actual racing (which is why I thought we tuned in at these hours) is pointless.

Good to see that you need team personnel to queue for the john.

Button is known as being good in these conditions and the last thing he said on his radio was "sector 3 is a lake". it must be really wet.

I think half the race needs to be completed even just to get half points?

No, the leader only has to complete two laps for half points to be awarded.

6.5 If a race is suspended under Article 41, and cannot be resumed, no points will be awarded if the leader has completed less than two laps, half points will be awarded if the leader has completed more than two laps but less than 75% of the original race distance and full points will be awarded if the leader has completed 75% or more of the original race distance.

That bird was cute.

I wonder if they can redo the race the next day since only 9 laps have been done.

He is known to have good timing on choosing tires in changing conditions. Quite different.

I didn't hear Hamilton protest and he is 1st.
