If Vale needed to show anyone his skills are still there, he did so today. If Lorenzo had to show he is one with that Yamaha, he did so today as well.

Stoner obviously settled for the points, and didn't challenge back. But still... Rossi forever.

Spies, another hot moment, another slow down and terrible finish.

The tech 3 yamahas are also working great (both riders help!).

Wow, a great day's racing. Impressed with Louis Rossi and Olivera (until he dropped it), Moto2 was awesome, was great to see Westy and Kallio doing well. MotoGP was okay, the BBC Commentators are not great though. Charlie Cox sounds like he's been chain-smoking for the past 20 years, he's well past his peak. The race was great though, nice to see Rossi on the podium.

I love a good wet race!! The moto 2/3 were insane. You feel sorry for the few guys in moto 2 who managed to stay on for the whole race only to be one of the few not to score a point.
And how the French fans' day got worse. From Rossi winning to Zarco chasing down Luthi but crashing and poor old Randy.
Anyway, 2 guys in park furme that we haven't seen for a while, Valentino and James Ellison :)

Stoner retiring, I guess Marquez has found his seat potentially.

Ben Spies, I feel you Earth I don't know whats going on with him after having two good seasons in the bag already, granted that he spun badly of the line and lost a handful of positions before he reached a 100ft.

Stoner Vs Vale - I was wondering if they were both thinking about turn 1 in Jerez Spain last year?, It was pretty much the same block pass maneuvers. I could tell 2 things. #1 Stoner is not used to being passed, and #2 with that Honda transmission as strong as it is in the 3rd+ gears, you can only try a block pass on him riding a Honda to get the job done.

Marquez (unfortunately) won't be able to take the seat at Honda due to the rule that was enforced a few years ago against Rookies debuting for a factory team. It's a silly rule as far as I'm concerned, Still, having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if Marquez ends up at LCR but with a factory grade Honda with access to the same updates as the factory riders and full factory support.

The kid is phenomenal and has tremendous potential.

According to Spalders on the Eurosport coverage, Bradl is in line for the factory Honda seat unless they sign anyone big. Also, could Marquez sign with Gresini for next season if they ran two prototype bikes but Marquez had factory backing, like Simoncelli.

Was hoping for more from the American's - Hayden typically is very good in the wet and was fast in the warmups, no idea what happened. Also, for Spies, I read the post race interview from him and he said rain was getting inside his helmet, and he couldn't see - could be excuses, but if that's true, that would certainly screw him up.

That being said, very glad to see the Rossi detractors have a blow towards their arguments that Rossi has lost it - most certainly has not (I never once have doubted his skills). Here's hoping Ducati can give him what he's looking for in a dry race soon.

Spies might be in an uncomfortable position really soon if he can't drive better. So far this season he didnt show a thing. It's a pittty cause I really like him and he did pretty well last year.

Spies had yet another "moment" where he almost got thrown off in the chicane and then he took it very easy. Again.

We know and are used to seeing riders riding on the limit but under control. We see the bikes twisting and slipping and they hang on and keep posting great laps and times. But Spies seams to be caught by surprise in these "moments" when he's apparently less expecting them and his (little) confidence just disappears. Very sad, as he is one of my favorites and a very talented rider.

Oliveira in Moto3 is riding well but he's been caught by the rain and bad luck. In Portugal he was going strong and had to stop cause of somethingin in the front that failed. In Spain, he fell nad got his bike taken away, when in perfect order to continue. In France, well he was leading into the ponds and just couldn't continue after a crash.

At least Vale had a great race and that made me happy.

It was a shame to see both the Tech 3 Yamaha riders crashed out after a really good battle with Rossi and Stoner. They both finished 7th and 8th. Must be awkward for Crutchlow to see his team mate somehow finished right in front of him after being so far in front

Outstanding performance by Lorenzo pulling out in front barely being challenged by Stoner but man of the day has to be Rossi in my opinion. The way he power through the field to finish in 2nd place was awesome to watch. I think Stoner will be very happy despite finishing in 3rd place.

Well I'm not really sure he'll be happy, he lost the championship lead, he lost to Rossi and since that incident in Jerez we all know that they dont like each others really. Sure he'll take 3rd, but beeing happy about it I dont think so.

On second thought, I think you're right.

But whats to say he would have finished 3rd if the tech 3s stayed on. Maybe he will be happy, especially since Rossi didn't knock him off again

Actually the moto 3 bikes are much harder to bump start than the old 125s so maybe he wouldn't have got back in at Jerez.

Haha he pushed his bike over the finish line for points, classic! 👍

You couldn't believe how pissed I was when Elias pipped him.

Gino Rea got done the worst. I was thinking Gino was hoping zorac or whatever his name is would go down, and then he did'

That didn't stop the marshals from doing it to Rins pushing him literally across the track in front of the 2nd pack.

Rank amateur move by Marquez in Moto2 to take out Pol. I like that guy less and less every time he races. You can't just cut across the racing line like that when you are recovering from a moment.

Yeah, Pol was already right there on the inside and out of nowhere Marc get into Pol's way. Very sorry for Pol but I'm not happy with what Marc did over there... :grumpy:

I feel bad looking at Pol in tears...

100% with you. He closes the door shut and then straightens the bike slightly just before the impact to make sure he'd still be running after it...

Great race to see still. Great race from 1st and 2nd (not spoiling it...)

And GO MIGUEL! Great 3rd place in Moto3, finally a good result!

"Just lost the front, I wonder where the guy that was just behind will be?"

That and last I checked, Marquez wasn't deaf.

So he's supposed to be able to pick out the sound of Espargaro's engine note over the sound of his own when he's preoccupied with trying to stop his bike from going over, and without actually knowing where Espargaro is in relation to himself?

Srsly?

He knew Espargaro was right behind him. Only an idiot (rider, or motorsports journalists) could imagine he'd be "elsewhere" or that he didn't know where he'd be.

He'd be taking the iside line and going for that position and Marquez would be an idiot not to defend.

The way he acted when he heard and saw him beside him is what I didn't like. He just flinched enough so he didn't fall but did not to avoid the contact or allowed room for Espargaro.

And you don't have to pick sound differences, sudenly a 100% engine sound increase in your left ear = someone is beside you.

He would have known that behind Luthi was another rider; you can't be saying a 125cc champion has no awareness of what is going on around him on track.

The replays show he caught the low side, got it upright and then swept right into the line he knew someone would be.

He does the same when he overtakes - sweeps right back onto the racing line, leaving his competitor nowhere to go if they are committed to the re-overtake. It just a lack of respect for fellow riders.

After watching that happen to Ben Spies I felt sick to the stomach. Just awful. Its so stupid how much faster the Honda is in a straight line, Lorenzo and Spies have to make up all the time in the corners. I'm sure Lorenzo is use to being more patient with the Hondas but Spies was a little too eager to finally get a good result.

I stopped watching the race, I just feel awful for Spies
