Jesus Christ, Girrafeuzaj's penalty was a howler.

Does Moyes stay?

I feel terrible.

And this really is not going to get any better. Surely Mata must be thinking about failing that medical now.

I've supported Moyes every match, but after this disaster i'm questioning if he is the right man... Doesn't seem like he handles the pressure very well.

Yet again he starts with Kagawa on left mid, with Welbeck as CAM. Just horrible tactic choises, match after match.

Putting Welbeck as penalty taker is just suicide. Jones too. I bet Valencia, Evra and De Gea would have done a much better job from the penalty spot...

But hey, it can't get any worse, right? Oh wait, relegation next....

What the actual **** did I just watch? 2-1 after 10 penalties. Jesus. Sunderland will be slaughtered in the final.

Been thinking this for a while. I know things are going bad, and all managers complain about calls, etc., but I just don't feel like he carries himself all that well on the sidelines.

It's just Moyes, United were lucky to even reach the shootout, and all bar one missed, the United team is shot down mentally

This should be the high point of Manchester United's season - their fans now won't be forced to watch them being absolutely massacred in the most one-sided cup final in decades by their city rivals.

To be fair, United would have been slaughtered as well.

Anyway, with that I'm 4 out of 4 correct scores in the semi-finals of the League Cup.
A major improvement over my already bound to be wrong league predictions which featured Swansea above Liverpool and Utd. in the top 4.

I've never said the words "Moyes Out" but I can't stand by him anymore. His decisions are like that made of a 5 year old. Two players who play well in two positions, well let's play them the other way round.

The only thing Moyes has done wrong consistently, compared to the players, is press conferences. He's stuck on repeat for those "We deserved to win, unlucky, refs etc." There have been plenty of single mistakes from him, but this game was not one of them.

The only players who were even good tonight were Smalling and Evans. Smalling was thankfully put about where he belongs this time and Evans has been surprisingly consistent given the rest of the players.

Moyes picked the right players and they rewarded us with this. Rafael was completely limp, and to think he's our only proper right back...Carrick and Fletcher off par tonight, Januzaj faded second half, Welbeck and Hernandez utterly inept in front of goal. Kagawa out of position again, he cannot fit into the system.

How bad is it that the only player that has given his all for the team regularly is Januzaj? Appalling, relying on an 18-year-old to make things happen.

One of the most terrible things about this season is that United always score one and sit back now. Why don't we score again? We used to keep going until the end, always. Nothing of that this season. Go 1-0, need another goal to go through in 90 mins and we sit back, unbelievable. The Under-8s would have made a better fist of this season.

United will probably lose away at Stoke and Arsenal. At least.

He'll probably feign high blood pressure in the medical tomorrow, but Mata needs a Cantona-like arrival for the team.

Anyway, penalty shootout loss to a Premier League team...as opposed to Northampton, or Bradford.

May as well just put City's name on the cup. Sunderland aren't going to trouble them at all really.

BREAKING: Jaun Mata has broken his leg unexpectedly, just hours before he is due to have a medical at Manchester United.

Moyes made a bad call not putting Welbeck and Kagawa in their correct positions and that was bad but that's the only thing he did wrong tonight, we should've put the match to bed in 90 minutes and De Gea was lucky to get away with that howler and the penalties from both sides were shockers...

...but im still backing Moyes for now, I don't think the will sack him and we should give him at least two seasons and remember this is a guy who's won the LMA Manager of the year three times....im not panicking

Oh and these Mata 'jokes' aren't funny...

Just give Moyes time.

Mata is a good signing....but completely the wrong signing. They need a new back four and keeper before they need more firepower up front.

Probably just as well they lost to Sunderland instead of getting massacred by City...

It took Sir Alex almost four years to get it right...
True, but SAF was not stepping into a club that has enjoyed the success that Moyes has stepped in to.

The expectation now is for a continuation of results, for SAF it was to regain past glories.
