Good effort by Watford, but I think we all knew City would go through, and im delighted that Swansea actually won!! hopefully we will get a home draw as we have been away twice so far in the cup..

Wigan are the only 'giant-killers' so far knocking out Palace but they are the cup holders so I don't know if that counts as a giant killing...and there's no draw so far which means no replays...

Hahahahahahahahaha, one would expect stuff like this from Chelsea fans. :P

Sad for Watford and Jonathan Bond btw, but City are just too strong at home, and then they've got Seeerggggio as well.

Reading a lot of stuff on Twitter saying the Mata dealing is done after the medical earlier (he flew into Carrington in a helicopter) haven't read anything official though...

...also it looks like BT Sport have done some transfer business of their own swapping Andy Gray for Michael Owen, Gray is commentating on the Stevenage-Everton game, Everton 1-0 up...

Rumours that Mata will wear the number 7 jersey which I don't think is right. He needs to prove himself first before he wears the famous 7.

Its either 7 or 9 because I think those are the only one available...

Just seen the squad numbers for this season available numbers 7 9 37 41 43 46 47 49....not exactly spoilt for choice!

First off, it's just a number.

Secondly, Chelsea's best player for 2 seasons and a 37 million pound deal does prove himself.

The Manchester United #7 jersey will never be the same after Michael Owen.

I'd give him a temporary number for now (#37(m £)?) and promote him to #11 next season, when/if Giggs calls it a day.

Ronaldo wasn't the greatest of the great when he first wore it...neither was Beckham...
But they had the ability to become legends.... Cantona & Best too.
I think Januzaj has a cracking future, maybe he could don the shirt next year. Mata is great but is more a scholes playmaker than a full out game changer.

Marco Boriello and Antonio Nocerino have been confirmed as loan signings for West Ham. Personally I think it's great business, might be the signings that keep them up. Boriello is miles better than Carlton Cole, and Nocerino hasn't been great in Milan lately - but if he could refind his form from a couple years back he'll be a great signing.

Im gonna say, "ouch" for oviedo. That looks like it hurt, saw the pic on BBC and leg straight, ankle floppy.:scared: Double break too, long time out.

That sucks for Costa Rica. They're in a hard enough group already, they can't afford to have their big players go out.

It's never good seeing a player get a nasty injury like that. Especially in a world cup year.

Sheffield United take Fulham to a replay, Chelsea-Stoke is on now with the draw on at about half 5

Zaha and Kenwyne Jones are at Cardiff training ground for medicals, Jones is part of a swap deal with Odemwingie and Zaha will be a loan deal

Hope we get a decent draw, the schedule is already bonkers. It's laughable Mourinho says Arsenal have an easy schedule, he is just making himself look like an idiot.

Well, Liverpool, City and Arsenal are in the draw with the possibility of Chelsea as well, so I think it would be awesome if some of those play each other!

City,Chelsea,Arsenal,Liverpool and Everton ,atleast one or two matches will envolve two of those together unless some stroke of luck happens.

Mata who? Oscar putting in a performance like a superstar. Unstoppable World Class free kick and just in general being a defenders nightmare in the first half.

Man City vs Chelsea
Sheffield Utd/Fulham vs Notts Forest/Preston North End
Arsenal vs Liverpool
Brighton vs Hull City
Cardiff City vs Wigan
Sheffield Wednesday vs Charlton
Sunderland vs Southampton
Everton vs Swansea

Some good matches here. :D

FA Cup 5th Round draw...

Man City v Chelsea
Sheff Utd/Fulham v Nottingham Forest/Preston
Arsenal v Liverpool
Brighton v Hull
Cardiff v Wigan
Sheff Wednesday v Charlton
Sunderland v Southampton
Everton v Swansea

Sigh, should win and if we do there'd only be 2 more teams to worry about (Everton and winner of City/Chelsea).

Well im focusing on Swansea now United are out and we have a very tough tie away to Everton...

We've again been handed the least difficult draw (assuming Fulham and Forest knock out their lower-league oppo) we could have got - in fact the only Championship side we could possibly have drawn that are below us in the table.

It's been bloody years since we were last 16 and now the quarter finals beckon...

This being general football, might as well post about it in here.

Celtic increased their unbeaten streak in the SPFL to 22 matches with a 4-0 Win over Hibs, thats also the 10th straight clean sheet.

Ridiculous how much better we are this year in the league, compared to last year anyway. Hopefully we don't lose any key players to attempt to make the CL again. Commons brings his goal total at Celtic to 53 goals with another double, something like 5 goals in past 3 matches. In all honesty, I don't see any competitive football in Scotland for at least 5 years.

Y'know the phrase 'Big fish in a small pond'? well at the moment Celtic are a great white Shark in a tiny pond filled with ducks and goldfish!
