How exactly does Lewis qualify for that?

If you watch the 2012 season race by race you will see how much bad luck he's had, this season he's the only driver to have had 2 tyre explosions and his only major car failure in a race happened when he was leading and for once it looked like the tyres would hold on. Sorry for the little rant but you were asking for it. :)

MotoGP thread, lets stay on topic.

I'm not surprised that Nicky is off to somewhere new, I've never seen him look properly happy on the Ducati and I think that he really needs a bike that he can throw around.

I could somewhat agree with you about that. Not only that, but it make you feel quite bad that he ended his relationship with honda especially when he was really at the top of his game on their prototypes.

That's without bringing up what happen to him this year at Monaco when he miscommunicated with his team and got leaped by both of the Red Bulls during the yellow flag period.

I figured there would be enough viewers to ful fill the advertisers needs to go ahead with airing all the motogp races and qualifier rounds on television.

Excellent result for Bradl and LCR 👍. They had a slow start to the season, but he is definitely getting stronger as the progresses.

Still looks like another MM victory though with Crutchlow being robbed of track time in quali.

Front row lock out by the Honda's, I think they usually race well around Laguna to. 2 satelitte poles in the last 3 races so those bikes can't be far off.

There'll be a minute's silence to remember Andrea Antonelli who died in todays World Supersport racce. I don't know how the accident happened because the conditions were so bad that you could barely see some of the riders.

Apparently he fell on the back straight and due to the poor visibility, another rider could not avoid hitting him :(.

Marquez is on a roll now, but not out of sight. One retirement from him and Pedrosa and Jorge are back level pegging. Momentous effort by the two Spainards to get on their bikes and finish with a handful of points!

Extremely disappointing from Crutchlow - not sure what his issue was, but his stock took a dive with Bradl getting on the podium and having pole.

Yet Cal is still thinking of going to Ducati. Well he may be forced there.

I hate to say it but he might if Nicky Hayden leaves. Come on Cal all money isn't good money. A Factory bike that can't beat Satelite bikes is a big no no! Matter of fact they got a CRT breathing down there back. Looks like if Cal goes to Ducati then Alex could go to Tech 3. Once again we need more Factory teams!

And returning to MotoGP?!
👍👍👍

Not confirmed. And it is too soon for such assumption.

He'll be trying to get a "feel" for the bike (new and old) to assert it's competitivity. But surely also his own with the new specs, tyres etc.

Who knows. Maybe the tantrum is over and Casey wants to play again ;)

The way they spinned this 1 was great. Using a top rider to get top rider results on a new bike plus a little vacationing riding which is what Casey Stoners doctor ordered. Hmmm sounds good indeed. Anyways possible 3 bike Factory Team again with Satellite teams going back to 2 bikes to feel all this new talent, not including Gresini's 2 bikes as 1 Prototype, 1 CRT effort.

How many times can we explain this (without sounding too rude)
Each manufacturer can 4 bikes, 2 factory and 2 satellite, maximum.

Yes. And rookies can not ride a factory bike on first year. Oh wait :D

Rules can and do change, and I'm glad they do or we wouldn't be seeing Marc doing... well, all he did so far which is pointless to list (and already long) ATM.

But yes, it's just speculation and wishful thinking so far 👍

Seems like Bradl is also uncontracted for 2014....

At this point it seems like more good rider's then good bikes for next season, so if everybody wants to remain in MotoGP, some people are going to be on Ducati/ CRTs.

As for Casey Moaner - I don't think he'll return on anything but a HRC. So putting aside any accusation he would have to field of being a hypocrite if he did return, I cant see it happening as long as MM and DP are there.

Yeah, on BBC2 they talked about that during the Laguna race. Thinking he's doing a bit more effort taking pole and second place and all to show his capabilities. He's a good rider and deserves to be at least on the same team next year.

I understand that. I'm not talking about a rule that is in place now. I'm talking about a hypothetical rule change to aid this situation. You know?, something similar to what happen in 2011 when they had 5 Honda's on track.

Well apparently he had a factory bike under him at Laguna.

He had a contract to ride a factory-spec bike as of 2013. Much like Simoncelli did in 2011, but whether or not he has the same parts as the Repsol RC213V's remains to be seen.

Like Cal's Tech3 aswell with Yamaha, right?
I always looked at it like them riding a Factory bike but with some older parts instead of all the brand new stuff which is on the Repsol Hondas and Factory Yamahas.

Cal's M1 isn't an up-to-date factory Yamaha. It's actually the Factory Teams' chassis from last year and he has two different versions; one from the start of 2012 which was a long-chassis version and one from mid-way through which is much shorter. Both lead to vastly different handling characteristics that I won't go into as it'll bore you senseless.

That's exactly what I was trying to say but my lack of English failed on me I guess.

Yeah, I know. Long or short base give way different handling.
