Different subject, different post:

"Factory MotoGP teams will be allowed to field four riders from 2014, with the Grand Prix Commission taking the decision to expand the previous entry limit of two.

Honda, Ducati and Yamaha currently contest the championship with two riders, while satellite outfits (LCR, Pramac, Gresini and Tech 3) receive varying levels of support.

Honda was the most recent works team to run three permanent riders, with Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso racing together in 2011. The current rule, restricting teams to a maximum of two riders, was enforced the following year.

Like I said, rules can and do change. This one changed on Friday:

should be interesting to see what pans now that FIM/Dorn allow 4 team factory teams. Could this be Hayden's lifeline and possibily a return to Honda? A factory bike for Crutchlow finally?

Anyhow I long for the day when the Factory Kawasaki team will return as the ZX-RR was a solid prototype especially in the hands of Hopkins of Nakano.

Ah well, treasure this season Crutchlow fans because he'll be on a Ducati next year.

I am extremely sad to see him take money over a competitive machine. 👎. It would be great if Ducati could become competitive again, but if this season is anything to go by, they are going backward not forward.

Ratthapak Wilairot has also announced his immediate retirement from Moto2. It sounds injury related :(

I was bored so I wondered what Cal would look like on a Ducati.

EDIT: Adjusted helmet flames to suit the Ducati.

That's a shame, he didn't feature much at the top of the timesheets but it's hard to forget a name like that. :)

funny how you mention mention money, because it remind me how Lorenzo said he turned down offers from both ducati and honda especially when they were offering him a very lucrative contract.

Sad to read about Cal. at least, Ducati did Hayden a favour. Even if he's left watching races on his lounge, he'd still win more than he would on THAT bike! More power to him.

:dunce:

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
So the two brothers will be on the same track then. 👍

Yes, Pol (currently leading Moto2 and only beaten by Marc Marquez last year I think) comes to MotoGP in a theoretically better bike than his brother Aleix.

In theory cause no one knows for sure were Aleix will be yet, and being as good as he's been on a CRT, who knows...

Nice silly season, and the championship isn't even over! :D

technically speaking, its Scott Redding who is leading in Moto 2

It's a bit rough on Aleix that Pol gets the Tech 3 Yamaha and he is still potentially stuck on a CRT. I'd rather stick Alvaro on a CRT and Aleix on the Gresini given how ordinary Bautista has been for such a long time.

I don't blame Cal in the slightest for moving to Ducati, Pol has actually been signed by the factory Yamaha team but will race next season on a 'tech 3 bike' which I think will be a full spec factory bike with a paint job....
Cal wasn't offered the same terms, so if I were him I would find that an insult after the performances he's put in for them. :ouch:
I wish him all the best at Ducati 👍

I think Pol is the better rider on his day but I agree that Aleix should be on Bautista's bike and Bautista to Pramac possibly if Spies doesn't get his act together because injury or not he hasn't been good enough for the last couple of years.

Wow! Seems like they really want to crank up the grid size next year.
This could become a very interesting 2014 season.

Where is there a space next year for redding to go? unless he is going to a CRT team

Team Pramac will undoubtedly have a vacancy come the end of the season. Don't forget about the Production RC213V and potentially GP13 that will be available for next year, which Marc VDS have been hinted at running. There's also LCR and Gresini with spaces open.

an interesting article on americans in motogp, what do you guys think?

http://www.cyclenews.com/306/21901/...ditorial--Where-Have-The-Americans-Gone-.aspx

Anyhow I personally point the blame at Dorna and the manufacturers for the lack americans in MotoGP and sub-classes(Moto2, Moto3) given their reluctance to recruit from the national championships(such as AMA SBK) but instead rely too much on Moto2. To make things worst, not many american riders are given a wildcard/ --- even till this day I scratch my head wonder why Danny Eslick wasn't given wildcard, let alone a private test.

Anyhow I'm in the belief that the next Hayden, Rainey, Schwantz and Roberts already exist, but due to the close-minded nature of dorna and factories we'll never see that individual for a long time.
