Well this big enough for me to come in here again.

First Portuguese pole on Moto3 and an honorable 4th riding something slightly better than a vacuum cleaner (:P) for Oliveira.

Then, a podium with my current favorite 3 riders on MotoGP. Awesome stuff!

Also, Lorenzo. HUGE man he became. Still not one of my favorites but he earned my respect long ago, and today he was just super-human.

Sad that Redding couldn't kick Pol's ass too on Moto2 :P

Cheers guys...

Edit: please make it 3 Yamahas next year for Cal!

It would be great if we could have 3 factory Hondas and 3 factory Yamahas. Scott, Marc and Dani vs Jorge, Vale and Cal.

You've changed your tune :P

What a hero though, fifth is pretty special considering the injury.

It was probably very risky so I would still say it was a foolish decision but he really limited the damage in the championship, he was helped out aswell by Dani's lack of speed.

Pretty miffed I didn't stay up to watch the race, but I am super happy for Rossi anyway 👍. Unbelievable ride from Jorge and Pedrosa must be devastated that all he could manage was one position better!

You didn't miss much - just the commentators falling all over themselves to tell us how awesome Lorenzo was for riding with his injury. I get that sometimes they have to repeat themselves a bit for the beenfit of people just turning in, but sometimes it seemed like they were mentioning it twice a lap.

We're starting to get to that point where we have more talented riders than Factory Teams. That's why it still pains me that Randy is going to get the Factory Suzuki seat. Honestly if Suzuki is making a come back they should learn from the last time they were in this sport and wasted money racing year in, and year out with mid pack rider talent. IMO 2 fresh Factory bikes would mean 2 fresh Factory worthy riders on them. Cough*Bradley Smith*Cough

Can someone explain to me what the dropping of the "CRT" rule means? I have read three blogs about it and still don't get it :boggled:.

Does this help you any further?

I'm not getting it either. I think I did but then again realised I didn't get it. :boggled::sly:

You sound like my Dad. :P

AWESOME race though, so happy to see Rossi win again.
It would've been nice to see how well Cal could run, but that was an awful start.
Made it worse by the fact that he was right on pace.

I read it once and think I got it, but read it again, and like you, didn't .

I think it was in place to prevent Yamaha for example, setting up a CRT team and then claiming a Honda engine. But as that was never done because the factory teams set up satellite teams, not CRT ones, and CRT teams used an ECU incompatible with factory engines, they did away with the rule.

I think :embarrassed:.

This is the official word, cleared things up for me.

"Remove the claiming rule, so that only two classes of bike - 'MSMA' (factory/satellite) and 'non-MSMA' (privateer) - exist."

Bang on. There will be the current prototype bikes we have plus the customer bikes Honda and Yamaha are bringing out for next year. I know that means no ART bikes as they use their own ECU but the others I'm not sure.

The ART is a prototype chassis though, so they could technically run that chassis with the standard ECU.

Yes the current bike won't be allowed but a small adjustment and it will be. Not really a small adjustment but you know what I mean.

So who's going to win in Germany? It should be a good opportunity for Dani to extend his lead in the championship, I doubt Valentino can repeat what he did in Assen but I'll be happy with a top 5 finish.

I'd say Marquez for MotoGP given Lorenzo's fitness. With the long run up to the finish line, it's got to suit the light Honda riders.

Regardless though, it's always great racing in all classes at this track 👍.

It's a tight and twisty first half so that should suit the Yams but the second half is a lot of power and hard braking making the Honda riders better off. Last year Jorge won and Casey fell off on the last lap if I remember correctly?

Pedrosa won last year, but you are right, Stoner binned it in the second last corner if I remember right.

I remember now, it was about to be Lorenzo's first finish outside the top 2 until Stoner helped him out a bit

It was a very important moment in the championship, I think Stoner had the championship lead thanks to Bautista ramming Lorenzo off at the previous race and just as he was about to extend the lead he chucked his bike down the road.

I'd say that either Marquez or Rossi have got a real chance here, given their previous records. Albeit in different classes.

I don't think the injury is slowing Lorenzo down but having said that at the start of Assen he looked as good as ever but he sharply dropped off the pace towards the end.

EDIT: He's certainly not making things easier for himself.

I think when people do things like this its either considered brave or stupid Im going with stupid in Lorenzo's case

Such bad luck for him to essentially re-break his broken collarbone (he bent the plate in there with this accident). I would say his quest for the title is very much over now as recover from this will rule him out of this race and probably next week too. What a pity. :guilty:

What is Aleix doing up there?! He seems quite quick in all sectors, he did have a 6 mph straight line advantage though over Randy which seems quite large.

I don't know if its just bad fortune or the bikes are starting to get too powerful and too edgy with the electronics, but in that's Lorenzo and Pedrosa with two huge crashes, Iannone with what looks like a broken arm and Crutchlow lucky to have gotten away with a huge crash yesterday too.

Add in Marquez's lucky escape at Mugello and this year has been forgettable to say the least for rider safety.

2nd win in a row for Vale?or will Marquez do it this time...

My money is on Vale, best quali of the year(ofcourse with Lorenzo and Pedrosa missing)...he seems very steady and happy again just as in Assen 2 weeks ago!!

Go RRRooossiiii .... :)

Spy.

And pedrosa has been officially ruled out of the German gp. This is a great opportunity for Marquez to make up for mugello. Come on marc.
