Meanwhile the "American as apple pie" Chevrolet Impala is made in Canada, and the Camry is manufactured in Kentucky. Why doesn't GM taut the the Malibu as its NASCAR nameplate, since it's manufactured in America? Sales, that's what...keep people as ignorant drones whenever possible.

Regardless of where they are made, GM is still an American company. Toyota is still a Japanese company.

And the 2013 Impala will be assembled in Detroit as well as Canada.

These new cars are sounding better and better. Really glad that the drivers are liking them too.

Same here. Might just be my ears, but there's this rasp to them I haven't heard in a while. Sure the new ECU and Fuel Injection made the COTs sound alittle cleaner, but nowhere near as good as what I'm hearing from these. Need to find a video for comparison.

Since the Chevrolet is actually a Holden for 2013 and beyond, I wonder why people don't have an issue with that.

Realistically, (beyond us car enthusiasts and Motorsport fanatics) is the American public even aware of Holden?

Non-car/motorsport enthusiasts are all probably only aware of the cars they see on the road around them everyday. Why would my dad know what a Holden is any more than a Renault if he isn't interested in cars or racing, and doesn't see one in his normal daily life?

Ford isn't clean either, the Fusion is made in Mexico. Dodge (Even though they don't have a team, they still want to be back in eventually) makes Chargers in Canada as well.

And making cars in Canada is a bad thing how?

I think he's more going with the point that there is no such thing as a 100% american car in NASCAR. Which is true of the whole auto industry. Few large scale manufacturers have roots set one country now.

I was thinking, Dodge could actually pull a good move here in 2013. Test their car, keep on testing over the course of the year, and come back stronger in 2014.

People hate Toyota being in NASCAR because "OMG FOREIGN CAR! MERICA! WOO!" when in reality it's the only car acutally currently made in America. Not really a knock on Canada personally.

But who would test it?

I dunno, can't you sneak over the border and steal our jobs like Mexico does?

I mean, the health care isn't as good, and the drinking age is higher, but...wait a minute!

Thats the only issue. Who could test it? Dodge I reckon would be quite happy to give assistance, they just need the teams.
Well, the only "big" team that strikes me as a possible Dodge team would be maybe EGR (And don't say "But it's Dale's team!" because Teresa would do it for money). I think BK Racing might be a team on the rise- their staff reads like a whos-who of shop guys- I can see them possibly taking the deal if Dodge would pay extra for them to afford to run an engine program.

Quite frankly, I'm not so sure Teresa has anything to do with EGR anymore. Hell, its essentially just Chip Ganassi Racing with Dale's name on it. Also, I don't think Chip is willing to suddenly up and leave for Dodge now that he's got the near unbeatable Hendrick power. Seems very far fetched to consider them, the very team thats struggled to get anywhere near winning the Cup championship Like Penske did for a while, would just drop the advantage they have now.

Dodge wouldn't need a team to test for them if they were serious about testing their car.

They just need a driver who isn't contracted to any team.

Aj Allmendinger is not under contract by anyone is he?

Dodge also would be better off following TRD's lead, by which I mean actually support the teams with in-house research instead of the Detroit Trio MO of "Throw more money at it and maybe it'll work."

No, A.J. Allmendinger isn't signed yet, rumors are leading to a seat in one of the BK Racing cars. I'm more concerned with Sam Hornish not having a ride, for Cup at least, he may still be under Penske's thumb for Nationwide duty though. Last I checked, he was better than A.J. in the same equipment, sometimes by bounds.

It should be noted, though, that BK Racing said on Twitter a few days ago that AJ is "unlikely" to be driving for them come next season.

Found this:

While I know it isn't relevent to the 2013 season, I post this because of the many interesting points in that race that has changed massively over the years afterward, the most immediately noticiable being:

-Dale Jr's Final race for DEI in the Busch series
-The final time the 48 was used in the Series (Since then, Jimmie's appearances have been in the 5 and one time only, the 7 car)
-Brad's first full time ride in the series (So I believe as the last driver was Huffman)
-The last competitive season for RCR (before the JGR domination)
-The most cup regulars in the field, 20 to be exact with only 8 of them being fulltime Busch series regulars as well (Ever since, nowhere near as many)

Of course, there's also some comedy gold from Brad Doherty. "Jack Roush has bought a baseball bat to a pillow fight"

I can understand when fans get annoyed when a team switches brands; that's like a college coach switching to a rival college football team; that's a totally different thing. When Junior Johnson unveiled a Ford for 1990, instead of his usual Chevy, fans threw beer cans and booed! Others cheered.

Looking at a world map Canada and Mexico both are in North America, note "America". Just saying(?) the last USA made car (100%)I think was the first year that the Corvette plant in Kentucky opened which turned out to be too cost effective.

I feel Biffle would be the guy Roush offs to make room for Bayne.
I honestly don't see all that much upside in him anymore.

Biffle is the only RFR Cup driver that didn't have a race with ecoboost(aka unsponsored) on the car.
