Why can't Podolski or Walcott play as the main striker? They both score their fair share of goals from less advanced positions and have played up front before, I'd rather rely on one of those 2 than Welbeck.

They could but Walcott is still injured and who knows what's happening with Podolski, he doesn't seem to be in Wenger's plans much. Still they would be better signing an out and out striker but they need to be better than Giroud, no point signing someone as a long term back up.
