I agree, the only problem is they both play at their best as a main striker.
I disagree, Kane's played most of this season with Soldado or Chadli with him, and most of what we've ever seen of Sturridge has been with Suarez.

But of course, Kane can happily play for Ireland if he wants.:D (Irish dad, his cousin went to my school)

He's ours! but didn't Suarez play on the left wing usually to accommodate Sturridge who wasn't so prolific as a winger in the past? Of course they could play in a 4-4-2 but managers don't seem to like that anymore.

What on Earth is a "Kane"?
According to Danny Murphy the man that England should build their team around, you'd think we were talking about someone like Messi.

Usually 442 or 352 but Suarez and Sturridge would be all over the place making space, but yes Suarez liked that inside left channel (similar to Kane :sly: )

So Chelsea now 7 points clear of City at the start of February, if they don't win the league this season then Mourinho should be sacked...or resign...

Also, Atletico 4-0 Real?!....Holy Christ!!!!!!!! :dunce::dunce::embarrassed::embarrassed:

I went to West Ham today. United were dross.
The front five look like they don't even know each other. They simply do not work together.
Go on all you like about the positions, Rooney is at least fine in the midfield and di Maria was converted to an attacking mid by Real. But they are all wasted by each other.

Mind you, Falcao is the worst of them all. I'm actually starting to dislike him, he's a goalscorer that never actually scores. Get him out, and actually...do put Rooney where he should be - up front.

Defensively the first half was OK. But again they are indebted to De Gea.

I can't even begin to imagine how far Man Utd would have dropped without him these last 2 years. If we sell him to Real Madrid then Van Gaal is actually stupid and doesn't just come across as it. He's walking a fine line between genius and idiot at the moment with his philosophy and 3-5-2.

Celtic got a tough draw in the Scottish cup today, drawn against Dundee United away. This sets up a really interesting 3 week schedule for Celtic in March...

Celtic v Dundee United(H) - Scottish Cup Quarter Final
Celtic(H) v Dundee United - SPFL League
Celtic v Dundee United - QTS Cup final

If we really have a chance at winning a domestic treble, something tells me that this treble of ties is the most important 3 game span we've had in a long time. :scared:

Wayne Rooney in 2015, five starts, 450 minutes played, zero goals, zero assists and zero shots on target, all because he is playing in midfield....and i agree with C-Zeta about Falcao, in really bad form right now and even if he was in great form he still wouldn't be worth £46 million, we should get Chicharito back...

So then there is a full programme of mid-week games starting tonight, probably because its the FA Cup this weekend, here are the games for tonight and tomorrow

Tonight
Arsenal v Leicester
Hull v Aston Villa
Liverpool v Tottenham (8pm BT)
Sunderland v QPR

Tomorrow Night
Chelsea v Everton (8pm BT)
Crystal Palace v Newcastle (8pm)
Man United v Burnley
Southampton v West Ham
Stoke v Man City
West Brom v Swansea (8pm)

All other games kick-off at 7.45, BT have got two games, Match Of The Day is on tomorrow night.

Sky Sports contract with The Premier League was up at the end of the season so its no real surprise to hear they have done another deal to show 126 live games a season from 2016-2019, this will include 10 games per season on Friday night for the first time....

Other news, Louis Van Gaal has responded to claim that United play a lot of long balls by producing a dossier of facts saying that we don't in a slightly embarrassing press conference and Paddy McNair has been rewarded for his great performances for United the season with a new contract which he is till 2017...

Sign him to a contract as long as you want but if we're just going to play Valencia in defence instead he'll just end up leaving anyway.

I know, whole playing players in their wrong positions thing needs to stop, McNair deserves his new deal though as he has been terrific since coming in..

More details about the TV rights, BT have 42 league games a season from next season which is about the same they have now but they have the Champions League from next year as well, the cost of those rights from Sky and BT combined is an eye-watering £5.16 Billion!!!

A 3-0 victory for Celtic tonight gives us a 3 point lead at the top of the table with another game still in hand.

We haven't conceded a goal in 12 hours and 15 minutes(and thus all of 2015) going into this Inter game Good build-up I'd say.

The older fan may appreciate this; someone during the 1994/95 season drew the entire sticker book. The internet discovered this and now it has its own Tumblr page.

It is hilarious.

A win last night but still not good enough, I know this question has been asked a lot this season but how the hell are we third?!

Another loss for Swansea, been a crap 2015 so far, never got in the game at all :indiff:

Also, no real surprise to see Lambert's sacking but its not all his own fault, things are dire at Villa!

Because Arsenal and Liverpool have been pretty terrible too, I think in a month or so we will overtake United and finish (a dissapointing) 3rd this season, but hopefully another FA cup and a good run in the champions league to rescue the season.

Most of the season.

We sure did have a shocking start to the season, but since the Palace game back in November we've turned things around and been on a upward curve.

I wouldn't class that as most of the season, sure if we were struggling right now then yeah your comment would be valid.

you know even thought there is a lot of talk of the way we are playing I think Man United are top of the form table right now, one loss in the last 16 league games I'm right in thinking...

Sturridge being out did not help, but Liverpool have been no where near as good as last year.

Yeah having him out for so long didn't help, there was other factors aswell, Brendan's tactics and the personnel he was/not playing didn't help too. Thankfully though he did pull finger out and turned things around since back end of November.

Yeah we are nowhere near the level of last season, however we may never reach that level again in terms of how many goals we were scoring. But in terms of the defensive side of things, recently we've been so resolute in the defence, that you could go ahead and say it's the best we've been since Brendan took charge of us.

The attacking side of things, well I don't know if you have been watching us recently, but we are getting our mojo back. Not to that level of last season, but we're definitely not that far off. We are creating many chances in matches, just what we have been lacking is that consistency in the final third, but with Sturridge back, providing he stays fit and healthy for the rest of the season, then we've got a good shot at finishing inside the top four.
