What's the deal with Stan Collymore? I think he's been let go by BT for saying Chelsea have the most racists amongst their fans out of the Premier League sides. Other people are linking stuff which seems to back this up.

There are a lot of rascist people that support football clubs. To link them to the clubs is wrong IMO. For once I agree with Mourinho, those fans are not representative of Chelsea and Chelsea really shouldn't get a bad image from their disgusting behaviour.

Every Premier League club has rascist fans, so to say Chelsea are the worst for it is unfair.

Or you have, as a club, fans who demolish ancient fountains in Rome.

Current damage report is 3 million Euros.

Well I never... You thought the tackle on Matic was bad, then try this....

EDIT: Facebook fail.

Was at work yesterday so missed the games, mixed feelings about the Swansea win because I support both teams, fantastic win for Swansea and to do the double over United is incredible for a club like us but for United another pretty dreadful performance and we have lost ground at the top and we could lose more ground if Southampton win today, what I don't get is how we struggle to create and score when we have a seemingly brilliant attack?!

Mourinho was terrific this morning on Goals On Sunday this morning!

Handbags at St. Mary's. Could easily have been 2 penalties to Soton and maybe even a red card to L'pool, instead it's 1-0 to the visitors.

And we're only 5 minutes in.

Fabulous goal from Coutinho... just stunning.

Really need to win this one after a lot of the other results have gone our way this weekend.

Glad we're above United as they start playing some of the big teams, hope Liverpool beat southhampton and it's a very good weekend.

The calls in this game are head scratching. 1 clear penalty for Soton denied, a good shout for each team (which could easily have been a red for L'pool had it been called) and now Mignolet clearly handles the ball outside of the box to deny a goalscoring chance and sees no punishment.

Add in the officiating in the Chelsea game, and some of the other calls so far this weekend...not a strong show from the officials this time out.

Does anyone know if the FA are going to punish Ashley Barnes for that horror tackle?

Not sure but Gary Neville says that the Matic red for the push after should've been a yellow as Howard Webb was a guest on MNF in November saying that a push to the chest which is what Matic did is a yellow and a push to the face is a red...

Real 4 points clear on top after todays 2-0 win against Elche. Benzema and Ronaldo with the goals.

Benzema should also have had his bicyclekick goal allowed, but the linesman thought it was offside.

I don't think the City game is that important... a draw would be fine, a loss not the end of the World.

Much more critical we beat Man U & Arsenal - the head to heads with those a few points around us are the really vital games... but as we're going to win the Europa should be irrelevant ;) :D

We generally do well when Man City come to our ground though, feeling confident we can at least get a draw.

Like playing against them to be honest, not like they sit back and be defensive, they come to play and win and that then does open up the game. So we'll get our chances against them, just going to be will we take them, mind you I wouldn't mind seeing Coutinho score another belter this weekend. :D

There are clear signs that the Roma fans will retaliate coming Thursday in Rotterdam.
Those who will come in through Schiphol will be escorted to a special train to take them to Rotterdam. All under the watching eye of the police, who will most likely be scrambled up in large numbers.

@Dennisch We have similar police state treatment for Wrexham vs Chester games. All because someone once knocked over someone's pint of beer in 1987. Let's say it is at Wrexham's ground. Therefore, if you are a Chester supporter you must go to Chester, regardless of where you actually live, and be escorted on police approved buses all the way to Wrexham, into the ground, held for 20 minutes after the game and escorted by the police all the way back to Chester. Again, regardless of where you live or what your plans are after the game.

And this is a fixture that wouldn't get any more than 5,000-6,000 fans. Anyway, that's an axe I have to grind and it's West Cheshire Police and North Wales Police's faults.

This Feyenoord-Roma thing is ugly. There must surely be repercussions. A closed door game would avoid some of this if it is known there will be "revenge" hooliganism, surely?

@Liquid

The crap that happened in Rome was caused by fans who weren't registered by Feyenoord and travelled on their own to Rome.
Those who were in the stadium were registered and behaved normal.

We have to deal with this crap every year in the Netherlands, where the games between Ajax Amsterdam and Feyenoord are off limits for fans from the visiting team. It has been like that for years now.

And it seems that a portion of the Rotterdam crowd just can't behave when travelling through Europe. And it's all thanks to the reluctant behavior of our justice system. They never hand out lifetime bans to those who misbehave. Once they start with that things should calm down pretty quickly. We already have an ID system in place that doesn't seem to be very effective to scare off idiots.

What exactly is the ID system and why doesn't it work?

It's called a club card with photo id and such, and basically you can't enter the stadium without it. But as it has been proven, you can borrow someone's card and just walk in.

So in case you haven't heard today a FIFA Task-force has recommended that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should be held in the Winter and to be a few days shorter, no real timescale on when it would take place be the media are saying between November 25-December 23, now it doesn't really mean it would be held at that time as its only a recommendation but seeing as its a FIFA taskforce who recommends it then it is likely it would happen...

..as you can imagine everyone is up in arms over this saying its ridiculous etc (they have a point there!), no one more so than the Premier League which doesn't have a winter break like pretty much everyone else does so it will cause more chaos here but of course this affects everyone in Football...

Switch all European football to a calendar year. No winter freezes, lovely clement weather on Saturdays. Some leagues already operate like this and I wish the rest would follow suit.

It would also be a major relief for my penchant for pedantry. For example, "In 1997..." does that mean the 1996/97 season or in the 1997/98 season? Clarity. Simplicity. Nice summer weather for midseason games. No winter freeze and fixture congestion.

Ireland, Russia and Norway are all on calendar football years and look how great their cricket teams are!

Not a bad idea, we would have to take a break mid-season for the World Cup and the Euros as they would want them to take place in the summer (the World Cup in Russia in the Winter!), but its a pretty good idea...

This idea is as worthless as giving the bid to Qatar in the first place.

This is just sprouted by a bunch of Fifa boboos who are being funded by the oil farmers and they just don't want to pay back that money.

Games this weekend..

Saturday
Burnley v Swansea
Man United v Sunderland
Newcastle v Aston Villa
Stoke v Hull
West Brom v Southampton
West Ham v Crystal Palace (12.45 Sky)

Sunday
Arsenal v Everton (2.05 BT)
Liverpool v Man City (12.00 Sky)

Capital One Cup Final
Chelsea v Tottenham (4.00 Sky)

A bit all over the place this weekend because of the cup final on Sunday, there will be midweek games this coming week as well...

United win 2-0 home against Sunderland, Rooney with both goals.

Sort of slowly getting back on track, but what the hell did the referee thinking showing Wes Brown the red card, when it was obviously O'Shea who fouled Falcao???

But getting the 3 points was a relief though.
