Shota have been fired on the bus carrying Fenerbahce players. The bus driver was wounded and hospitalized.

Idiots.

As a mostly casual fan of the Premier League, I was awed watching Wayne Rooney's goal against Aston Villa FC. Catching the ball on his foot then delivering a rather long shot to bank that goal. Only buzz kill to that was that Aston Villa scored on Manchester United within a minute or two after Rooney's fabulous goal, breaking up the (then) 2-0 shutout Man U had going. Still, that was a beautiful goal Wayne Rooney scored for Man U.

Okay. After seeing Manchester United's Wayne Rooney's beautiful goal, I saw the insane long bomb from Charlie Adam of Stoke City. Wow! I have no earthly idea how that ball went in off the foot of Charlie Adam from the other side of the world.

I guess if you want to have a "Who Did it Better?" debate, I included two links from FOX Sports showcasing videos of both goals from Wayne Rooney and Charlie Adam. So... who did it better?

Rooney's Goal: http://blog.foxsoccer.com/post/115513137922/wayne-rooney-blasts-insane-golazo-during
Adam's Goal: http://blog.foxsoccer.com/post/115494428687/charlie-adam-scores-on-chelsea-from-60-yards

Both goals were amazing. I'm still with Rooney because of the ball control and the strike.

If you're talking a Rooney goal to compare with Adam's, you're looking for this one:

I laughed out loud when I saw that one go in. Adam's is probably better as a whole though. But Rooney's goal was top class yesterday. So was Zamora's and Gomis' and all of Arsenal's. Superb day of football yesterday!

I really don't understand some people. These countries where football is merely another layer or excuse for violence.

Fantastic goals yesterday, not just Rooney and Adam but Zamora, Gomis and Sanchez too..

0-0 in the Wear-Tyne derby so far and it was 0-0 in the Burnley Spurs games in what probably was the most boring and dull game of the season...

About the Arsenal-Liverpool game yesterday, Liverpool crumbled (again) and Can was stupid to do that tackle when already on a yellow..

Speaking of great goals this weekend, Holy **** Defoe!!!!:embarrassed::eek::drool:

A week of fantastic goals, glad to beat Liverpool (champions league should be secured now), massive shame we didn't play like this all season (same old story :( )

Some great goals this weekend but Defoe's is the standout goal for me. Has to be a contender for goal of the season surely? Elsewhere, Real Madrid thrashed Granada 9-1 with Ronaldo scoring 5.

Any margin of victory in football five goals or more is just embarrassment, and 9-1 is just a thrashing. Then again, if you want TOTAL embarrassment, go back to that time when Australia beat American Samoa 31-0 or whatever that was.

Anyhow, I wanted to come in here because I saw Jermain Defoe's goal through video on Twitter. A Vine video I saw didn't really do it justice. I then saw a different video and was pretty impressed. What was so impressive was just the touch on the ball through traffic no less. It was great how he was able to get the upper right end of the goal and just drop it in nicely. Fabulous goal.

Heck, Sky Sports is even amused of all the sweet goals that have been scored this weekend. Got to love all the talent that takes the pitch and play hard and make big plays.

There are plenty of high scoring games to turn to when it comes to trivia;

Arbroath 36-0 Bon Accord and Dundee Harp 35-0 Aberdeen Rovers happened on the same day in 1885. Those are the two records for games which were not fixed.

Man City are two down to Crystal Palace!:lol:

Palace 2-1 City Full Time!!!!:lol::lol::lol:

It's currently 2-1 in favor of Aston Villa FC over Queens Park Rangers heading into 48 minutes. From what I've seen, AV is 15th while QPR is 19th in the standings. Yeah. So, this is not exactly (at present) Chelsea vs. Arsenal.

Wales are at a record high 22nd in the World Rankings; 14th best in Europe ahead of nations like Russia and Sweden, and former European Champions Denmark and Greece.

I was going to post this on the Euro 2016 quali thread but anyway, delighted and slightly bemused that we are at our highest ever position, some might be surprised that we have climbed 15 places after only beating Israel but Israel were 9 places above us when we beat them and beating nations above you is a big plus in the rankings, happy for all the home nations after they all climbed up..

I'll be interested at how the Manchester Derby goes. You're either with the boys in blue (Man. City) or the boys in red (Man. U). Manchester United is ahead of Manchester City in the standings last I checked (Man U. in 3rd, Man. City in 4th). I saw a few videos last night showcasing the Manchester Derby including great plays and some brutal fouls. Should be fun.

I'm not. I'd be quite happy for the game to be abandoned due to the Philadelphia Experiment.

So, that's eight wins in a row now...if only we could have pulled that off earlier in the season.

The stadium disappearing or a ship suddenly appearing and squashing all the players?

I think I'd prefer the ship.

Allthogh the former would remove a lot of Utd/City supporters.

To be honest I'm just glad of the opportunity to shoehorn in the oddest cultural reference of the year so far - and that someone got it.

Looking forward to the Manchester derby hoping to see another City win now that we're out of the title race (pretty much).

Is anyone surprised at how well Pardew is doing with Crystal Palace? Something like 4 wins in a row now and hes lifted them above Newcastle, well out of relegation.
