Worst performance of the season thus far goes to Sunderland against Aston Villa, just shambolic!

Congratulations to Chelsea on winning the title..

Man United 1-0 up v Spurs via a great finish by Fellaini :D

Chelsea and Southampton drew 1-1 earlier...

AND ITS 2-0! CARRICK!!!

3-0 at half time, what a performance so far!

The league is pretty firmly in Chelsea's hands.

Great to watch Man Utd finally play attacking football this year.

Just brilliant stuff, best performance of the season by a million billion trillion miles!

Its amazing what a win like that does to a team..

....just two points behind City now...

Celtic pick up the first of 3 possible cups today without conceding a goal the whole way through it. 13 goals scored, 0 conceded. :D

No surprise about Poyet going, Sunderland have been pretty terrible all season and I think the owners have seen what a change of manager has done to Villa and will hope the same thing happens to them...

Swansea 0-1 Liverpool, goal from Henderson came from a defensive mistake from Swansea, undoing all the good work we did in the first half, Liverpool now 2 points behind United, and its Liverpool v Man United on Sunday..

Dick Advocaat named new Sunderland boss till the end of the season, he is a vastly experienced manger who has managed all over Europe plus two spells as manager of Dutch national team, he got sacked from last job as Serbia boss before Christmas, at 67 he is the oldest manager now in the league and fourth oldest to ever manager a Premier League team, most of us would recognise him from his time as Rangers manager..

Some speculation as to who would take over in the summer, one of the names around is Steve McLaren, who could take over if he doesn't get his Derby team promoted.

There's a very strong possibility that I might see my team (Hearts) win the league on the 28th March...

Due to the fact that the two nearest teams play each other midweek, it is possible that Hearts can clinch the Scottish Championship against Queen Of The South on Saturday 28th, even if Hearts lose to Falkirk next Saturday.

By my reckoning, Hearts can lose to Falkirk and still win the league against QOS if Hibs fail to beat Rangers. The only way Hearts cannot win the league on the 28th March is if they fail to beat Falkirk and Hibs beat Rangers (although both of those are reasonably likely - Falkirk are the only side to have beaten Hearts all season, and Hibs have beaten Rangers a couple of times this season too.)

Fortunately, my mate has got me a ticket for the game on the 28th... what an amazing day it could turn out to be :D

The BBC, Sky and the Dutch NOS want to host a debate between the candidates for the upcoming FIFA elections.

Prince Ali: Great idea, I'm coming.
Luis Figo: Great idea, I'm coming.
Michael van Praag: Great idea, I'm coming.

Sepp Blatter: Bad idea, I'm not going.

And besides that.

The World cup 2022 will definitely be held in the winter.

I hate that little Swiss weasel.

Everton knocked out of the Europa League which means there is no British/English representitive in either European competition, what a shocking last four weeks its been for British Football!

The only English footballer left in Europe is Micah Richards, Man City defender on loan at Fiorentina..

Football this weekend

Saturday

Aston Villa v Swansea
Man City v West Brom (12.45 BT)
Newcastle v Arsenal
Southampton v Burnley
Stoke v Crystal Palace
Tottenham v Leicester
West Ham v Sunderland

Sunday

Liverpool v Man United (1.30 Sky)
Hull v Chelsea (4.00 Sky)
QPR v Everton

There is an international break after this weekend.

Adam Johnson in contention to play for Sunderland after they lifted his suspension..

Meanwhile, in Scotland, Heart of Midlothian (aka Hearts) now only need 12 points from 10 games to win the Scottish Championship and return to the Scottish Premiership at the first time of asking. Rangers had three games in hand over Hearts, but have drawn three games in a row... they remain 22 points behind with one game in hand left, and one Hearts v Rangers game still to play, although the league could have been won by then, since Hearts now only require 4 more wins to secure the title. Rangers may even struggle to get promotion, as Hibs are currently 2 points ahead but have played a game more.

Hearts' form this year has been nothing short of unbelievable. Despite playing in the lower division, they've done an incredible job. Facing financial ruin last year, and shedding players and staff left, right and centre, Hearts have essentially reinvented themselves and have exceeded the wildest expectations of their supporters. 20 points clear with 10 to play, only one defeat all season, and the longest unbeaten run in UK football this year... nothing short of amazing!!

Is it just me, or does the Edinburgh derby seem a lot less violent and hate-filled than the Old Firm derby?

Not 100% sure if totally authentic, but I would have to ask what is the marketing value for City if this is true?

I could ask same of Newcastle Uniteds Lister Storm and Chelsea on the Sauber cars, but sponsorship of a Le Mans Nissan seems strange (if true)

I know it's still early but Kane might be on course for 3 consecutive player of the month awards, nobody has ever done that in the Premier League.

minus cool point there for Nissan

Anyway Arsenal barely held against Newcastle, terrible second half but held on in the end. Not sure which team I need to win tomorrow.
