The other possibility is Turkington moving from WSR to Motorbase. Although there has been rumours for a while now that its an ex-champion who didn't race last year, like the number of ex-champions is still yet to rise...

Oh and may I just say I'm waiting for people to moan about missing the "good old days" of the 90s when we're quickly regaining a grid of talent if we do indeed have Menu and Giovanardi back....even the ST days weren't this good as the TV coverage is so much better now :D

Gio, Muller, Aiello, Rydell, Soper, Thompson, Biela, Radisich, Tarquini, Winkelhock, Cleland. If all these names and the current guys were in a series

Won't hear that from me. I've been saying for years that BTCC is basically back to its heyday again. Full grids, great racing, plenty of drama and real competition.

I do still prefer the cars of the 90s though :D

According to BTCC Fan Page on facebook, they have good sources indicating WSR are unchanged, and Motorbase (Airwaves) are Onslow-Cole, Jackson, and maybe Fabrizio (still very much a rumour however).

Also John Cleland has confirmed he will be at Oulton Park in his original Vectra!

Aiden Moffat has bought Andy Neate's Cruze. (Sure he had one already though...)

I just want Giovanardi back. I would pay money to get him back in BTCC.

So, I'm on the Honda Civic wagon launch at the moment.

Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden are here. Seems as good a time as any to ask: is there anything GTPers particularly want to know from either driver? I'll do my best to ask questions.

You on a launch? :odd:

If I could ask them a question I'd ask what the biggest difference in driving feel with the car being much larger than the hatchback.

It's my job, so yes :D

Will do. To my knowledge, they've only had one proper go in the estate so far. But there may be passenger laps tomorrow. Spoke to the team boss tonight, he said aside from a few aero improvements the car is largely similar to the regular hatch. Wheelbase is the same. Aero is a little better. Marketing potential is over 9000.

I still maintain the real reason for the estate is so they can swipe MG's off the road. :P

Quote from dinner tonight: "It's 95% marketing, 5% engineering". Though apparently there are aero benefits, both obvious and, ahem, "hidden", to running the estate body...

If you can still ask questions, ask if there's any one driver not currently in the BTCC they'd like to see in the BTCC.

They'll be around tomorrow. Or rather, later today, since it's 12:45 in the morning. So I'll ask some questions. I really ought to get to sleep now...

Brilliant news for me regarding Menu returning to the BTCC. Feels like I have been given a chance to see a glimpse into the world of the Super Touring era since I never saw it for myself except for highlights on Grandstand at the time.

Airwaves sure kept that news quiet. Definitely surprising to see champions of the past coming back; first Menu and now Giovanardi. There's going to be huge fireworks this year.
