2014 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Yeah obviously but a team order is still a team order. If they told him to box he HAS to box and they were good sports to let him finish without the shame of retirement.

Actually, nothing in F1 rules say he can't ignore a team order. Any discipline for ignoring one would be purely internal to the team.

I do feel sorry for him. Knew the championship was as good as lost the moment Lewis took off like a bat out of hell. The one hope was that he could reclaim first for at least a symbolic victory to cap the season.

That said, I give him 50:50 odds of beating Lewis next season, as long as the cars hold together every race.

In the WDC the only difference the double points made was Sergio Perez finishes 10th instead of 12th.

Edit: No difference in the WCC.

Really hope that Williams can keep it up next season, especially Bottas can be a potential candidate for a WDC. Also very stoked to see how good Honda will do with McLaren!

Such a cringe worthy race. Nice to see Bottas on the podium, but other than that I really didn't feel happy with the results of the drivers I was rooting for (Rosberg, Alonso, Raikkonen, Ricciardo).

Curious as to whether the podium juice was sparkling cider or something. Very unlikely it was any sort of booze.

Ricciardo had a phenomenal race!

Hmmm, the question is will Caterham and Marussia still be in for next year?

Caterham seems hopeful, Marussia says not to count them out, but realistically speaking, Marussia the company is defunct, but they could still come under a different name.

Honestly, I'm more bummed out about Massa not winning the race than I am about Rosberg not winning the championship. Congrats to Hamilton for winning the championship. This was an amazing year.

Since a long time I was able to watch a race ( canal+ aired this one for free) and o boy, i am very happy i didn't pay for f1. It's sad to watch such boring racing. The sport is totally killed. Racing boring, cars boring, sound lol....there is really nothing left of the exitement it used to have. Read up on the internet is enough F1.

Congrats to Lewis and to bad Nico couldn't get the title.

Good race for Button, seems like he's not going to stay at McLaren though.

Nice to see Nico Rosberg handle it in a great sporting way. Look forward to battle commencing next year.

she is either Nic's Girlfriend or Hamilton's Step sister(too white to be full sister).

going to say the later.

Button blew Magnussen out of the water. Again.

Button-Alonso dream team? The magnitude of accuracy in such a statement is tantamount to that of one which does not meet sufficient critera, as Ron Dennis would say.

I'm pretty sure that Button will leave McLaren and compete in a different series. WEC maybe?
I also think that Sutil will be leaving F1, hopefully he can score a spot in the DTM.

I'd just like to see the competition at least have a fighting chance against Mercedes next year. Even though Hamilton needed to finish higher today than the last race in 2008 to win the title, his biggest threat was mechanical.

I'm almost 100% certain that some teams will be able to close the gap. Williams was not completely uncompetitive against Mercedes F1, however most of them were, but again I'm pretty sure that we'll see or rather won't see the same domination we've saw this year with Mercedes.

The Dilemma is: Button is Better then Magnussen, but he is getting old and is likely to start Fading Pace wise, also Magnussen has shown he has the Raw speed advantage on Button but he is completely unrefined on extracting it and would likely be something that would come in the second half of year 2.

Now in a Torro Rosso situation the decision would be obvious but Next year they are Expecting a title push and buttons ability to get points will certainly be a big draw card for the WCC.

Logical bet: Keep Button alongside Alonso and Move Magnussen Back to GP2 and have him Fight with Vandorne for the GP2 Title in 2015, Winner gets the 2016 Seat off Button.

What I think Dennis will Actually do: Sack Button, put Magussen With Alonso. Give Alonso Complete number 1 status.

It would be completely stupid to put Magnussen back to GP2, either farm him off to a lesser team or have him as Mclaren 3rd driver until JB retires.
