Maybe I'll get a little more seat time again tomorrow but I think I'm pretty close to my endpoint for this year. Sitting on a 17.2 with a 16.1 easily in sight if I can string all my best sectors together. I just dont have time to get lower than that this year and quite frankly I dont have the drive to do it either for some reason.

Good luck to all of you in the hunt of sub 15's :gtpflag:

Just a little inspiration for those that are about to or are thinking of giving up. Believe in yourself, keep at it and good things will come. ;)

"In the warriors' code
There's no surrender
Though his body says stop
His spirit cries - never!
Deep in our soul
A quiet ember
Knows it's you against you
It's the paradox
That drives us on
It's a battle of wills
In the heat of attack
It's the passion that kills
The victory is yours alone"

Same. I think I'm done with GT Academy this year since I got my 2:14.

I'll be back for the practice races. Good luck all.
C'mon, doodle. You can't let me be faster than you for once. :P
Finished for today on a 2:14.789, although quite annoyed because I've been on for a .6 about 20 times in the past 2 hours, and keep messing up the chicane
We should start a fundraiser to have someone go to the real Spa with a paving machine and fix the problem. :sly:

My goal from the start was to get into the 15's.

After being stuck at 2:16.345 for about 500 miles, I just managed to run a 2:16.055

So close! :ouch:

Man i just don't see how you guys are so damn fast! I've been stuck at 2:17:538 or something for the last 2 days and it seems you guys are hitting 2:15/14's like nothing!

i cant explain how many thoughts run through my head heading towards the final chicane. If only the start/finish was on the back straight right before it :P .300 needed for a 15.5 and i know im losing up to that much at that chicane alone.

Wow was I wrong... I have an 18.7 where the hell did I get 17.2 from? Apparently all of my memory is now gone :(

I think if I do somehow get to a 17.2 I'll call it a day...

I'm at a 2:16.213 but I see a mid 15 if I can put it together. When I get home in the morning I'm going to give it a try. And when I wake up I'm going to give it a try before work. Then wensday I'm off all day and back too work tursday night again. Then weekend off hope I can get it before its over.

YEAAAAAAA!!!! Eye of the Tiger baby....just improved by .200 (might not seem big to you all, but it is to me :D) down to 2'16.683...finally. And I'm finding time in sectors I didn't even think was possible. I can't even begin to tell you what this does to my confidence. 👍 I now have a renewed hope and I owe it all to you @outlaw4rc , you are my savior, a true godsend. I mean, after so many miles (now over 3000) and so much heartbreak to finally improve my time, I can't begin to say how good it feels. And to be finding new time in the sectors I never even thought was possible...damn I feel good. Thank you so much @outlaw4rc and everyone else that offered up advice, I couldn't have done it without you guys. At least now I have a fighting chance and that's all I ever wanted. I know it seems like I'm making a big deal out of nothing, but if only you guys knew what I've went through to get this far, you'd understand. Thanks again guys, truly appreciate all the help and advice. Alright, break times over, back at it. :) Stay fast everyone and never give up hope.

Mitch, if you want me to add that lap to the sector spreadsheet send me the split times. 👍 I'm still a bit behind your previous time. :)

I improved tonight too, was up 3 tenths at T2 and then...whah whah whah...the chicane. Ended with a .099 improvement. :dunce:

GTP_Gravitron 2'16.943

Thanks @outlaw4rc for the tips and track guide, and I'm about to watch Tidgney's guide with popcorn. :D

Glad you mentioned this because it's an excuse to point out how silly it is that the game dropped off two places off the sector times when you look at it from replay. Every hundredth and thousandth count and I'm too lazy to do the math, darnit! :irked:

Just redlapped a 2'16.375 :banghead: so yea, heading in the right direction. 👍

@Gravitron Will send you my splits in the morning...err after I wake up since it is already morning. (almost 3am )

EDIT: @Gravitron Splits sent. G-Nite guys, until tomorrow.........;)

Still can't get gold with my useless DS3, I feel so hopeless.
This year's GT Academy event is tough, really tough, but still possible. I also thought it was not possible with a DS3 until a miracle happened and the gold trophy popped out...
Don't give up.

I'm not talking about the "Live Timing" splits where it's only accurate to the tenths place. For most the of laps on my spreadsheet I've downloaded the replays and scraped the accurate splits out of the replay.

For Mitch's replay where he's sent me the splits, he's most likely used the WRS method and hit pause a few seconds after the start, and then hit FFWD to go to T1, and then T2, and record the numbers to the thousandths.
These only differ from reality by up to 0.017 at the most, so...negligible.

Updated the spreadsheet, some without splits...send them to me if you want them included.

Hey Gravitron,

for the Leaderboard: I am running right now on a russian account "MARTOMSKI", coz German Acadamy is closed.
Right now improved to 2:17.346

Cheers Tommi

OK, I've added you, but it would help if you looked at your replay and gave your T1 and T2 splits.

You're right on pace with @Jordan right now. :P
Splits coming in a sec....

T1 - 37.227
T2 - 1:04.200
T3 - 35.919

Was a crappy lap though. Can do all Sectors better. But i keep fighting. Since last years Academy i just pushed myself twice to the limit. Last year in a WRS event and end of January this year with the XKR in Rome. Thats it. Not much time mostly, put i keep goin.

Funny note: As the german academy is closed right now, i switched to another account. Received there the "Three Miraculous Laps" Trophy with 3 (even 4) Laps within a tenth. Gainin slowly consistency which feels great. Thanks to @Tidgney 's guide. Mid-16s now the target!

Ah - and thanks @Gravitron - and hey, talkin about "pace" - i am leading the pack from behind :)

Hey guys,

I thought I'd do the honours of creating the thread for the final round, which features the GT-R NISMO GT3 Team RJN '13 at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

Feel free to post your best times, and I'll try to maintain a ranking list of GTPlanet members. I'm also hoping to create a list of eligible players from the UK and the USA ineligible players to give you a better idea of how much you need to improve to qualify for your respective regional finals.

Gold lap demonstration (thanks @Shirrako):

@Tidgney's detailed round 4 guide:

How to turn off the blue ghost lines (thanks @Tidgney):

Isn't that what you wanted or did I do something wrong? That's the only way to get the splits that I know of. Let me know if there is something different that you were looking for. 👍

Down to a 2:14.753, starting to understand the chicane now, done a few laps today where I only lost 0.05 seconds, so if I can combine that with a decent run up to S3, I should be in the 2:14.6s :)

Nope, was just explaining to outlaw that there *are* accurate methods to see the splits. Thanks for the PM. 👍

Booooo :P

it was only a matter of time, i guess i'm gonna have to jump again at some point

nice job Spurgy 👍

After a 350km double stint I improved my non-ABS best to a 2.16'90x! Which is under a tenth of improvement for 2 and a bit hours of work

Lost a lot of time on the 5/6/7 complex at the top of the hill so hopefully I can beat the 16'837 I unknowingly set with ABS on last week :D

Well done @Spurgy 777 chicane is killing me to, can constantly get .4xxs/.5xxs/.6xxs end of sector 2 just the chicane you've got to nail bang on to really get the lap down.

Analyzing the top dozen or so laps I've saved, I have a difference of some 6/10ths of a second from the brake point before the chicane to finish. I watch the replays and I see exactly what I did and exactly when I did it and I can repeat this...every once in a great while.

I'm like a high-handicapper in golf, who every now and then hits a nice 280 yard draw off the tee. I know what it feels like, I have some inkling of what I have to do to repeat it, and then I hit a massive slice.
