2:14.586!! UK #1! (sorry tidgney and spurgy, even I was enjoying that fight) Yeesss!! *pumps chest* *imitates gorilla mating call* Rooooaaaaa

Great work :)! Not sure I'm doing anymore now to be honest, as I'm going to hit the very frustrating side of it! Good job though :) 👍! Uploading my lap now, wait until you see my Malmedy, it's the worst ever haha!

Oh dear, my Malmedy wasn't the worst ever but it doesn't look pretty! I can't remember whether I gained time on Immortal or not but the last sector was the best I've been able to do.

Well, after forcing myself to take almost two full days off from the event and to clear my head and refocus, I'm ready to get back at it. I find, for me anyways, time trialing is a lot like sex. Too much and it gets repetitive and boring, but go without it for a few days and you have a renewed desire and anticipation to try different things to improve. :P:sly:;):lol:

Sorry about the above analogy :scared:, I just couldn't help myself. Plus, just trying to loosen things up here for the weekend push. 👍 Good luck everyone and may you all reach your goals.

Just threw away multiple 1:40.2 T2s and even a 1:40.0 in the bus-stop. Can't seem to match my ghost through there but am taking out .3-5 at T2. :irked:

Once I've got a 2:15.7/8 I'll be happy.

HELL YES!!

2:14.951:D

that's it for me, satisfied with that:)

I cannot for the life of me get under 1:22, and that 1 lap I did was a fluke... 5 hours in until 2 am yesterday and I'm still nowhere closer than my 1 great lap...

I'll try with your setting today. (the standard TCS0 and ABS1 StSens0 was what I had...)

If you're running 2:22s already (which was faster than me), put ABS on 10 you'll have gold very soon. Brake deep into the corners, lift off on the bends and sweepers. And the bus stop chicane hit the anchors when you come to the white line across the track.
Good luck let us know how you go.

2:15.045... argh!

I've been at it pretty much all day today, and WOW it's so frustrating. I can't believe I've had so many laps heading for 2:14s that either ended in disaster or barely missed out (I've also had a 2:15.059 and several 2:15.1s and 2:15.2s). If this were anything other than GT Academy, I'd probably have given up by now.

Even though my current time should be enough to get through to the national finals, I still don't feel safe, so I'm refusing to give up just yet.

I have such a ridiculous urge to get back onto this time trial! It's like an addiction, especially now I've dropped to 3rd again! I'll see what tomorrow brings!

On that though here's my lap and you can see how much time I lose at the start of sector 2 but then how much I gain back! (I've been ahead of this ghost after Rivage/Bruxelles and Pouhon so I know there's 2/3 tenths in my lap).

2:20.6!!! (something) but I got it!!!
Surprising how a little difference in setting can change so much!

Thanks for the tip everyone!

(I still can't seem to go flat out with a DS3 at the left swooping turn before the chicane though... is it just me doing something wrong? always understeer and go off track if I don't at least lift off, or sometimes tap on the brake for a tiny bit)

You always seem to follow DUB's ghosts. :P

I try and pick a ghost which is quick so I can compare to where I need to really improve :)! At the time DUBs was the quickest (That I could use) so I wanted to compare, and improve. His sector 1 constantly blows me out but the rest of the lap I could build up so it's a really good tool :)! Bad thing about a ghost though is when your ahead the nerves can be going a little more, I've had that a fair few times haha!

Holy cow, I just set a 2:15.000 exactly.

I'm still disappointed as that lap could easily have been a 2:14.8xx had I nailed the Bus Stop chicane; it was my second 1:39.5xx at the second split. I'm sure I'll nail it eventually, but the deadline is approaching fast!

It's a pretty intense battle for 1st in the UK, can't wait to see who comes out on top :)

Just to say I wont be doing any more laps on GTA this year so the UK lead is up for grabs. I gave my best today. Good luck all!

BEYOND nervous right now, just checked the leaderboards and I think I am the bubble or just under it and not sure I am going to get to attempt to improve my current time :nervous::nervous:

Well my confidence isn't lost - was .1 down on @outlaw4rc's ghost all the way through blamchemont and lost .9 in the chicane due to an over zealous right foot between the right and left!!! I feel my time being secured shortly!

Unfortunately, where I am right now does not have WiFi and my phone is not competent enough to update the spreadsheet.

I can update the cutoff time. Will post shortly.

Unfortunately, I know right now I am out looking in.... Can't seem to best a 15:9xx now :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

You are correct. Cutoff as of a few minutes ago is jpe at a 15.645 while you're the first one out looking in. FourDoor is 10th with a .312 while propert11 is 20th with a .418 time. Everyone 24th and lower is below the .500 mark.

Well, 645 km on the odometer and the only positive thing I can take away is consistent 36.9-37.0 first sector splits.

Turn 11 (left hander before puhoun) is killing me, can't seem to get a consistent turn in (any marker or pointer you could provide @outlaw4rc ?). I am losing nearly all my time there..

Seem to have the chicane handled enough.

I believe @outlaw4rc said don't overlap brakes and gas for Turn 11. That's a good tip. 👍

Yeah I'm much more consistent through there now that I've cleaned my pedals out (slightly sticky throttle), before I'd be braking into the corner and running wide because the throttle kept blipping.

Was also a pain on the straights, as it'd oscillate when at full throttle. Only cost me about .050 per straight though. :indiff:

OK 2 days left, still trying to figure out how in the world I could get smoothly around that first corner :D It's just insane how I keep loosing that .150 even though I though I just did it perfectly...

Sometimes this game makes me want to pull my own skin off. I'm at a 16.2 so thought plenty of time to have a go today and improve. Best I could so after 30 mins was a load of mid 16s and at one point was about 3 tenths up in sector 2. But gradually I've gotten worse. To the point that after 300 miles I now can't even beat my old 18.2 ghost! I think the heat and stress has gotten to me! All I want is to get into the 15s, is 3 tenths to much to ask!!!? I'll have a final bash tomorrow.
