Kyle gets a pass.... this time. :sly:

I laughed too hard at this. Funny thing is (not to ruin the joke) I was actually talking about both of them :sly:

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

No big deal. As expected, Roush goes back to being virtually non-existant when we're back to a track that holds relevance to the majority of the schedule Chase.
there, fixed that for you... (5 of 10 races of the Chase, 6 of 26 of regular season, a big reason why JJ has 6 titles instead of the 3 or so he deserves).
Roush was definitely completely silent this week-end.

At some point about midway through the race, the three Roush cars were running all together in positions 24/25/26. This weekend could have been a total disaster.

Keslowski had a bit too big of a victory celebration and had 4 stitches. Good to see not just NASCAR fans drink too much. Well, not good for him, but still.

That might have been the most exciting thing that happened at the racetrack this weekend.
I went to the race, I agree. I guess Kentucky Speedway isn't that popular. First 42 car field since 2001. I still enjoy going to the races at Kentucky, but I think more and more people aren't enjoying it as much.

I was there, but missed the Keselowski injury. It probably was the most exciting thing to happen. He just dominated all night. He and Logano easily had the best cars, but then I noticed Logano was slowing on the staights with about 20 to go. I figured he had probably lost a cylinder, and sure enough, they said he had. That kinda hurt, fantasy wise. Kyle came on strong in the 2nd half of the race, and Newman and Harvick were top 5 cars all night (though Harvick fluctuated through the top 10 due to pit strategy). The Roush cars were incredibly average. The Hendrick cars were having troubles with their pit stops. And Truex had a hell of a time on pit road, getting spun backwards once, and having to back up to get around another car on his next stop.

I fell asleep three times during the race. Once at around lap 100, then 130, then I caught the last 20 laps. Seeing how Keselowski absolutely dominated, I suppose I didn't miss much.

And that cut on BK's hand. :ill:

NASCAR possibly the only notable motorsport in the world that you can get away with being drunk in an interview.

Watching Sonoma (in full) courtesy of a YouTube member. He has uploaded all the races in full so far. From what I have seen NASCAR seems quite good. But I think best on the oval's like the Brickyard. The cars at California the other day seem...slow for some reason. Am I correct? I was expecting quite a fast paced race but I don't get that impression. I do get the impression that NASCAR Sprint Series is still worth watching.

When you say the cars looked slow at California, do you mean Sonoma (the road course) or Auto Club (the 2-mile oval)?

Sonoma. I have not seen any of the others. Lots of passing and incidents. Allmendinger and McMurray had a great battle up front and the dink between Kyle/Kurt Busch (the M&M car) and Keselowski was interesting. But in terms of outright pace it isn't as fast as I thought it was.

What were you expecting? GT cars?

NASCAR race cars have very little downforce compared to open-wheel cars (F1 or IndyCar). They have way more power (roughly 850-900hp). They have much narrower tires (11.5" width). They are much heavier. They have 4-speed manual transmissions, with H-gate shifters instead of paddle-shifters mounted on the wheel. Everything about the car makes it harder to drive on a road course, so it should look slower.

You've got more power and weight to muscle around the track with less downforce and less tire. You have to actually shift gears. Also, there are 42 other guys on track, instead of ~20-25. Seems easy enough...

If the cars had more mechanical grip as we've been saying it would help the speeds.
