Yup, that's the one I was thinking of. It just seemed like more on the video. I guess I was thinking it was on the sand because the majority of the wreck was on the infield grass.

Skip to two minutes:

What in the fwats happened here? Also, this perfectly fits the use of Eminem's Berserk from the Expendables trailer

This was discussed at length then as well. There was AN ENTIRE BUMPER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK, BEFORE THE START/FINISH LINE. That is the definition of debris on the racing groove.
If it were in turn 2 and the field had passed, yeah I could understand why a caution could be subject to debate, but sitting in the middle of the track right in front of the line and in the way of the field is just asking for trouble. What if Biffle won but the bumper flew into the stands?

My reasoning is that the way the debris was there, it would be caught by the fence.

What I think they should do, is if the yellow is out, they race to the nearest sector.

He said in an interview "Because I didn't think they were going to throw it"

Biffle always reserves himself from making moves though, and then decides to come up with a reason when asked on air. Why you think he would have made that move even if he had the foresight to know how it would end, is beyond me because most likely he wouldn't have.

That's Biffle's fault for anticipating something not happening. He also couldn't see what NASCAR could see in the way of that bodywork in the racing line halfway around the track from where they were.

Even if they had waited until the exit of 4 to throw the yellow flag, there's no guarantee anyone would have made a move since the exit of turn 4 is the sweet spot at Talladega for last lap pass attempts to begin.

Again, the only way to find out is call every nascar driver and rerun it.

If that's what you wish to believe. Driver nature can be recalled though and that alone can give you a decent idea of reality even without it unfolding. I'd think a avid NASCAR fan would know how to do this, or racing fan in general.

His spotter or crew chief should have been yelling "PASS RIGHT NOW, THERE'S A HUGE 🤬 BUMPER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TRACK!"

Yes but with Win and Your In, so many personalities have changed

Like who? I've yet to see really any change and more so just an increase of who they normally are. For example, we know Tony can and has won a race in past seasons before the summer grouping, yet this year he didn't do it even with the new format in mind, and has instead opted to do what he normally does. We can see that he's been running better in the last few races (except this one obviously) compared to earlier in the season.

Gordon is another one that reads much like he has in past seasons, consistent but doesn't have the drive of team mates to seal the deal and from time to time picks a bad strategy that cost him being higher up in the top ten. This is who he is this season and who he has been the past few seasons.

Biffle is just like he has been, reserved and claims a big game that he cant ever seal nor probably will. He had a chance to win a race a couple years ago against his team mate but claimed that he thought his team mate would back up and then use that to make it. I'm pretty sure that was the 2012 Daytona 500 or perhaps the 400 not sure of which Daytona race but very sure on the year.

It was the 2012 500.

Biffle was 2nd on a GWC and Junior was locked onto his bumper the entire time. Kenseth in front by himself and Biffle just....never went. Logically they should've blown his doors off.

Edit: Biffle was also 2nd in the 2013 Shootout, 2013 Duel, 2013 500, and 2014 Talladega race. Didn't make a move in any of them.

I feel that if he didn't make a move, by the time they made it back if there was no yellow, whoever was 3rd would've passed them both, that's if biff didn't make a move. (2014 Dega)

As for changed attitudes, Jr. He was no longer conservative, he just went for it, and won the 500, gambled more and nearly won Vegas.

An assortment of others have placed high with the "screw it I'm gambling" tactic.

That's not true at all, and this is more so because I'm a Junior fan and pay even closer attention to him throughout the season than others. The only time Steve and Junior went a conservative path, one that Steve called over his driver is during the closing rounds toward the chase, when points racing was a more viable option. Junior has driven as he has been, but instead (knock on wood) has had better luck this year than the past couple years. 2013 was a highly consistent season for him much like this one. The problem is he was never fast enough to get the wins from second or third.

The gambles we see or here media hype up is that of Steve doing more of what Junior wants and trusting his driver to make it stick, this is due to it being Steve's last year and just throwing everything at it to win. If you want to quote gambles rather than tracks Junior always does good at, then you would have been better off arguing Sonoma.

EDIT:
Either way it's been proven sufficiently that Biffle probably wouldn't have made the move, and the idea of this format supposedly making him more likely to do so isn't true. He's a damn racing driver. Any chance at a win should be priority and not the idea of making the chase, it's not like wins this year compared to others are more special.

Terry Labonte finished 11th.
That's awesome :D

I'm not going to question the Jr fan, as you know more from that than I do. I really do hope he wins the championship though as It's his best shot, and Tony blew one of his last chances. All that's left is Indy, Pocono or The Glen.

...I thought 2011 would teach people that any shot is Tony's shot when he wants it to be.

He doesn't want to be this season

I have seen him running well which is great, considering his leg, I just don't know if he will pull a 2011. I hope though.

Am I the only one that only finds the Miss Sprint cup ladies unattractive?
I don't either, that could change if they showed some cleavage :P

It would be convenient for ratings if they would have to call it and have the #43 win this weekend of all weekends.
Nascar has held a ten hour Daytona 500 before, so there is no guarantee that this is over yet.
after more than 50% of laps, the race can be official, it was clear they were gonna call it after lightning was seen at the track, more rain was actually coming: https://twitter.com/NASCAR_WXMAN/status/485853956200202240/photo/1

Let's go Michael McDowell! Top 7
career best! previously 9th.
Also career bests: Almirola (3rd previously), Austin Dillon 5th (9th), Bowman 13th (22nd).

You continue to ignore blatant facts.

The race DOES NOT end at the last scoring loop crossed before a yellow is thrown. The field is frozen at that moment, but the race is not over. You can still lose position if you fail to mention a reasonable speed.

I'm not sure how much simply I can make it for you to understand,
what do you call "scoring loop"?
If field is "frozen", how can you "fail to mention (huh?) speed", frozen means no movement, no? I am not saying you're wrong, I'm just confused, I thought NASCAR was using camera angles at the exact time of caution to determine positions?

If it's for the final outcome of a race, they do. However, that doesn't mean cars can just automatically come to a stop when the yellow is thrown, regardless of where they are or what position they're in. They still need to make it back around and actually finish.

 one of the funniest post I've seen on GTP.

Did Biffle finally get a DNF?

Tony took a big dip in points today, from 16th to 20th, a win might be his only chance to make the Chase now. The first 15 in standings + Kurt Busch would be the contestants if the regular season stopped today...

That's not what it's about, Infact that would just make it worse. They just look scudgy.
