I think Junior has a better than fair chance to win it this year. With this new format, one bad race could knock out any of the supposed favorites, unless they are able to dig out and win one of the other two races in that segment.

Guys are all wrong. Your new champion will be Allmendinger or Almirola. :sly:

Just kidding you know it probably won't happen. I can kinda see Aric because he at least is sorta consistent, grabbing top 10s, but I don't know if it'll be enough.

Took the quiz this morning and got Jeff Gordon, of all things. After completing it (after choosing random answers), I was shocked. (Back in the '90s, he came in 1st a lot--and so did I in racing games dating back to 1997 after repeatedly struggling with them over the years, and the bumper car minigame from Cosmic Spacehead (I had the Genesis version) was the straw that broke the camel's back in 1995.)

Found this on facebook, I know it's a mistake, but it still makes since seeing that Jeff has 6 as an owner of Jimmie's #48, so ten in all. lol

No paul won a nationwide championship with brad.

Yes because those hold a whole lot of reputation on the Cup scene. If we were to go based on Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity gains or any gains in a lower series then Joey should still have his spot at JGR for near life.

So as I've said shouldn't they focus on a second cup championship first before even trying to be seen as the next whoever? And even then that isn't anything to link them since it's 2 v 6

But a nationwide title can't be used as momentum to the cup series?

No, if it could then my driver Junior should have multiple championships because he won 2 in Busch and Matt shouldn't have one since he lost to Junior in 99. I mean lower series only mean so much, it means you're good enough to join the top tier, but in no way constitutes an equal level of skill or expected performance on the top tier. F1 is the obviously blinding reason why this rings true (even though there are some murky bits that don't make it a fully comparable but enough)

So long Marcos, you will be missed.

Ambrose returning to Australia next year: Richard Petty Motorsports announced the #9 team will move forward with a new driver in 2015. Marcos Ambrose, who has been with RPM since 2011, has informed the organization that he will return to his native home of Australia in 2015. This was a personal decision by Ambrose. At this time RPM is currently evaluating several driver opportunities to help drive the #9 team forward and will make a future announcement at the appropriate time. Richard Petty, co-owner of Richard Petty Motorsports, is thankful for Ambrose and his dedication to the team. "Marcos will always be a part of our extended racing family," said Richard Petty, co-owner of Richard Petty Motorsports. "He came over to the United States with his family and dedicated his time here to giving it the best he had each week. I couldn't ask anything more from Marcos and his commitment on and off of the track to our race team and our partners. Away from the track, he's a family person first. That's something I respect and we'll miss Marcos, Sonja and their children." Ambrose will depart the team as one of the most successful drivers to ever race under the Petty banner. His NASCAR legacy will be cemented as one of the greatest to ever wheel a stock car on road courses, specifically the course at Watkins Glen International where he has six NASCAR wins.(Richard Petty Motorsports)(9-13-2014)

Hopefully if they are still a 2-car operation next year they use the #44 or #45 instead of the #9.

They should sign Landon Cassill or Parker Kligerman if they plan on having a second car next year. Their lower division drivers aren't ready yet and both Cassill and Kligerman have done way too much to not deserve a full-time ride somewhere...

Probably won't happen though.

Get the your engines going as we start the hype train and rumor mill of Penske Racing in Australia coming together with their new lead driver and 2 time (or was it three?) V8 Supercar Champ and now former NASCAR driver Marcos Ambrose.
